Deuteronomy 22

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 'If you see your brother's ox or one of his sheep straying, you must not disregard it: you must take itback to your brother.	1 Si ves extraviada alguna res del ganado mayor o menor de tu hermano, no te desentenderás de ella, sino que se la llevarás a tu hermano.
2 And if he is not close at hand or you do not know who he is, you must take it home with you and keepit by you until your brother comes to look for it; you wil then return it to him.	2 Y si tu hermano no es vecino tuyo, o no le conoces, la recogerás en tu casa y la guardarás contigo hasta que tu hermano venga a buzscarla; entonces se la devolverás.
3 'You must do the same with his donkey, the same with his cloak, the same with anything that yourbrother loses and that you find; you must not disregard it.	3 Lo mismo harás con su asno, con su manto, o con cualquier objeto perdido por tu hermano que tú encuentres; no puedes desentenderte.
4 'If you see your brother's donkey or ox fal over on the road, you must not disregard it, but must helpyour brother get it on its feet again.	4 Si ves caído en el camino el asno o el buey de tu hermano, no te desentenderás de ellos, sino que le ayudarás a levantarlos.
5 'A woman must not dress like a man, nor a man like a woman; anyone who does this is detestable toYahweh your God.	5 La mujer no llevará ropa de hombre ni el hombre se pondrá vestidos de mujer, porque el que hace esto es una abominación para Yahveh tu Dios.
6 'If, when out walking, you come across a bird's nest, in a tree or on the ground, with chicks or eggsand the mother bird sitting on the chicks or the eggs, you must not take the mother as wel as the chicks.	6 Si encuentras en el camino un nido de pájaros, con polluelos o huevos, sobre un árbol o en el suelo, y la madre echada sobre los polluelos o sobre los huevos, no tomarás a la madre con las crías.
7 Let the mother go; the young you may take for yourself. Thus wil you have prosperity and long life.	7 Deja marchar a la madre, y puedes quedarte con las crías. Así tendrás prosperidad y larga vida.
8 'When you build a new house, you must give your roof a parapet; then your house will not incur blood-vengeance, should anyone fal off the top.	8 Cuando construyas una casa nueva, pondrás un pretil a tu azotea; así tu casa no incurrirá en la venganza de sangre en el caso de que alguno se cayera de allí.
9 'You must not sow any other crop in your vineyard, or the whole yield may become forfeit, both thecrop you have sown and the yield of your vines.	9 No sembrarás tu viña con semilla de dos clases, no sea que quede consagrado todo: la semilla que siembres y el fruto de la viña.
10 'You must not plough with ox and donkey together.	10 No ararás con un buey y una asna juntos.
11 'You must not wear clothing woven part of wool, part of linen.	11 No vestirás ropa tejijda mitad de lana y mitad de lino.
12 'You must make tassels for the four corners of the cloak in which you wrap yourself.	12 Te harás unas borlas en las cuatro puntas del manto con que te cubras.
13 'If a man marries a woman, has sexual intercourse with her and then, turning against her,	13 Si un hombre se casa con una mujer, y después de llegarse a ella, le cobra aversión,
14 taxes her with misconduct and publicly defames her by saying, "I married this woman and when Ihad sexual intercourse with her I did not find evidence of her virginity,"	14 le atribuye acciones torpes y la difama públicamente diciendo: «Me he casado con esta mujer y, al llegarme a ella, no la he encontrado virgen,»
15 the girl's father and mother must take the evidence of her virginity and produce it before the elders ofthe town, at the gate.	15 el padre de la joven y su madre tomarán las pruebas de su virginidad y las descubrirán ante los ancianos de la ciudad, a la puerta.
16 To the elders, the girl's father wil say, "I gave this man my daughter for a wife and he has turnedagainst her,	16 El padre de la joven dirá a los ancianos: «Yo di mi hija por esposa a este hombre; él le ha cobrado aversión,
17 and now he taxes her with misconduct, saying, I have found no evidence of virginity in your daughter.Here is the evidence of my daughter's virginity!"	17 y ahora le achaca acciones torpes diciendo: “No he encontrado virgen a tu hija.” Sin embargo, aquí tenéis las señales de la virginidad de mi hija», y levantarán el paño ante los ancianos de la ciudad.
18 They must then display the cloth to the elders of the town.	18 Los ancianos de aquella ciudad tomarán a ese hombre, le castigarán,
19 The elders of the town in question wil have the man arrested and flogged, and fine him a hundredsilver shekels for publicly defaming a virgin of Israel, and give this money to the girl's father. She wil remain his wife; as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.	19 y le pondrán una multa de cien monedas de plata, que entregarán al padre de la joven, por haber difamado públicamente a una virgen de Israel. El la recibirá por mujer, y no podrá repudiarla en toda su vida.
20 'But if the accusation that the girl cannot show evidence of virginity is substantiated,	20 Pero si resulta que es verdad, si no aparecen en la joven las pruebas de la virginidad,
21 she must be taken out, and at the door of her father's house her fellow-citizens must stone her todeath for having committed an infamy in Israel by bringing disgrace on her father's family. You must banish thisevil from among you.	21 sacarán a la joven a la puerta de la casa de su padre, y los hombres de su ciudad la apedrearán hasta que muera, por haber cometido una infamia en Israel prostituyéndose en casa de su padre. Así harás desaparecer el mal de en medio de ti.
22 'If a man is caught having sexual intercourse with another man's wife, both must be put to death: theman who has slept with her and the woman herself. You must banish this evil from Israel.	22 Si se sorprende a un hombre acostado con una mujer casada, morirán los dos: el hombre que se acostó con la mujer y la mujer misma. Así harás desaparecer de Israel el mal.
23 'If a virgin is engaged to a man, and another man encounters her in the town and has sexualintercourse with her,	23 Si una joven virgen está prometida a un hombre y otro hombre la encuentra en la ciudad y se acuesta con ella,
24 you will take them both to the gate of the town in question and stone them to death: the girl, for nothaving cal ed for help in the town; the man, for having exploited his fel ow-citizen's wife. You must banish thisevil from among you.	24 los sacaréis a los dos a la puerta de esa ciudad y los apedrearéis hasta que mueran: a la joven por no haber pedido socorro en la ciudad, y al hombre por haber violado a la mujer de su prójimo. Así harás desaparecer el mal de en medio de ti.
25 But if the man ran into the betrothed girl in the open country and slept with her, having taken her byforce, her ravisher alone must die;	25 Pero si es en el campo donde el hombre encuentra a la joven prometida, la fuerza y se acuesta con ella, sólo morirá el hombre que se acostó con ella;
26 you must do nothing to the girl, she has not committed a capital offence. The case is like that of aman who attacks and kil s his fel ow:	26 no harás nada a la joven: no hay en ella pecado que merezca la muerte. El caso es semejante al de un hombre que se lanza sobre su prójimo y le mata:
27 since he came across her in the open country, the betrothed girl may have cal ed out, withoutanyone's coming to her rescue.	27 porque fue en el campo donde la encontró, y la joven prometida acaso gritó sin que hubiera nadie que la socorriera.
28 'If a man meets a young virgin who is not betrothed and seizes her, sleeps with her and is caught inthe act,	28 Si un hombre encuentra a una joven virgen no prometida, la agarra y se acuesta con ella, y son sorprendidos,
29 her ravisher must give the girl's father fifty silver shekels; since he has exploited her, she must be hiswife and, as long as he lives, he may not divorce her.'	29 el hombre que acostó con ella dará al padre de la joven cincuenta monedas de plata; ella será su mujer, porque la ha violado, y no podrá repudiarla en toda su vida.
