Luke 3

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 In the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar's reign, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judaea, Herodtetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of the territories of Ituraea and Trachonitis, Lysanias tetrarch ofAbilene,	1 وفي السنة الخامسة عشر من سلطنة طيباريوس قيصر اذ كان بيلاطس البنطي واليا على اليهودية وهيرودس رئيس ربع على الجليل وفيلبس اخوه رئيس ربع على ايطورية وكورة تراخونيتس وليسانيوس رئيس ربع على الابلية
2 and while the high-priesthood was held by Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John the sonof Zechariah, in the desert.	2 في ايام رئيس الكهنة حنان وقيافا كانت كلمة الله على يوحنا بن زكريا في البرية.
3 He went through the whole Jordan area proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins,	3 فجاء الى جميع الكورة المحيطة بالاردن يكرز بمعمودية التوبة لمغفرة الخطايا.
4 as it is written in the book of the sayings of Isaiah the prophet: A voice of one that cries in the desert:Prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight!	4 كما هو مكتوب في سفر اقوال اشعياء النبي القائل صوت صارخ في البرية أعدّوا طريق الرب اصنعوا سبله مستقيمة.
5 Let every val ey be fil ed in, every mountain and hil be level ed, winding ways be straightened andrough roads made smooth,	5 كل واد يمتلئ وكل جبل واكمة ينخفض وتصير المعوجات مستقيمة والشعاب طرقا سهلة.
6 and al humanity wil see the salvation of God.	6 ويبصر كل بشر خلاص الله
7 He said, therefore, to the crowds who came to be baptised by him, 'Brood of vipers, who warned you toflee from the coming retribution?	7 وكان يقول للجموع الذين خرجوا ليعتمدوا منه يا اولاد الافاعي من اراكم ان تهربوا من الغضب الآتي.
8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance, and do not start telling yourselves, "We have Abraham as ourfather," because, I tel you, God can raise children for Abraham from these stones.	8 فاصنعوا اثمارا تليق بالتوبة. ولا تبتدئوا تقولون في انفسكم لنا ابراهيم ابا. لاني اقول لكم ان الله قادر ان يقيم من هذه الحجارة اولادا لابراهيم.
9 Yes, even now the axe is being laid to the root of the trees, so that any tree failing to produce good fruitwil be cut down and thrown on the fire.'	9 والآن قد وضعت الفاس على اصل الشجر. فكل شجرة لا تصنع ثمرا جيدا تقطع وتلقى في النار.
10 When al the people asked him, 'What must we do, then?'	10 وسأله الجموع قائلين فماذا نفعل.
11 he answered, 'Anyone who has two tunics must share with the one who has none, and anyone withsomething to eat must do the same.'	11 فاجاب وقال لهم من له ثوبان فليعط من ليس له ومن له طعام فليفعل هكذا.
12 There were tax collectors, too, who came for baptism, and these said to him, 'Master, what must wedo?'	12 وجاء عشارون ايضا ليعتمدوا فقالوا له يا معلّم ماذا نفعل.
13 He said to them, 'Exact no more than the appointed rate.'	13 فقال لهم لا تستوفوا اكثر مما فرض لكم.
14 Some soldiers asked him in their turn, 'What about us? What must we do?' He said to them, 'Nointimidation! No extortion! Be content with your pay!'	14 وسأله جنديون ايضا قائلين وماذا نفعل نحن. فقال لهم لا تظلموا احدا ولا تشوا باحد واكتفوا بعلائفكم
15 A feeling of expectancy had grown among the people, who were beginning to wonder whether Johnmight be the Christ,	15 واذ كان الشعب ينتظر والجميع يفكرون في قلوبهم عن يوحنا لعله المسيح
16 so John declared before them al , 'I baptise you with water, but someone is coming, who is morepowerful than me, and I am not fit to undo the strap of his sandals; he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit andfire.	16 اجاب يوحنا الجميع قائلا انا اعمدكم بماء ولكن يأتي من هو اقوى مني الذي لست اهلا ان احل سيور حذائه. هو سيعمدكم بالروح القدس ونار.
17 His winnowing-fan is in his hand, to clear his threshing-floor and to gather the wheat into his barn; butthe chaff he wil burn in a fire that will never go out.'	17 الذي رفشه في يده وسينقي بيدره ويجمع القمح الى مخزنه. واما التبن فيحرقه بنار لا تطفأ.
18 And he proclaimed the good news to the people with many other exhortations too.	18 وباشياء أخر كثيرة كان يعظ الشعب ويبشرهم.
19 But Herod the tetrarch, censured by John for his relations with his brother's wife Herodias and for allthe other crimes he had committed,	19 اما هيرودس رئيس الربع فاذ توبخ منه لسبب هيروديا امرأة فيلبّس اخيه ولسبب جميع الشرور التي كان هيرودس يفعلها
20 added a further crime to al the rest by shutting John up in prison.	20 زاد هذا ايضا على الجميع انه حبس يوحنا في السجن
21 Now it happened that when al the people had been baptised and while Jesus after his own baptismwas at prayer, heaven opened	21 ولما اعتمد جميع الشعب اعتمد يسوع ايضا. واذ كان يصلّي انفتحت السماء
22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in a physical form, like a dove. And a voice came from heaven,'You are my Son; today have I fathered you.'	22 ونزل عليه الروح القدس بهيئة جسمية مثل حمامة وكان صوت من السماء قائلا انت ابني الحبيب بك سررت
23 When he began, Jesus was about thirty years old, being the son, as it was thought, of Joseph son ofHeli,	23 ولما ابتدأ يسوع كان له نحو ثلاثين سنة وهو على ما كان يظن ابن يوسف بن هالي
24 son of Matthat, son of Levi, son of Melchi, son of Jannai, son of Joseph,	24 بن متثات بن لاوي بن ملكي بن ينّا بن يوسف
25 son of Mattathias, son of Amos, son of Nahum, son of Esli, son of Naggai,	25 بن متاثيا بن عاموص بن ناحوم بن حسلي بن نجّاي
26 son of Maath, son of Mattathias, son of Semein, son of Josech, son of Joda,	26 بن مآث بن متاثيا بن شمعي بن يوسف بن يهوذا
27 son of Joanan, son of Rhesa, son of Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, son of Neri,	27 بن يوحنا بن ريسا بن زربابل بن شألتيئيل بن نيري
28 son of Melchi, son of Addi, son of Cosam, son of Elmadam, son of Er,	28 بن ملكي بن أدي بن قصم بن ألمودام بن عير
29 son of Jesus, son of Eliezer, son of Jorim, son of Matthat, son of Levi,	29 بن يوسي بن أليعازر بن يوريم بن متثات بن لاوي
30 son of Symeon, son of Judah, son of Joseph, son of Jonam, son of Eliakim,	30 بن شمعون بن يهوذا بن يوسف بن يونان بن ألياقيم
31 son of Melea, son of Menna, son of Mattatha, son of Nathan, son of David,	31 بن مليا بن مينان بن متاثا بن ناثان بن داود
32 son of Jesse, son of Obed, son of Boaz, son of Sala, son of Nahshon,	32 بن يسّى بن عوبيد بن بوعز بن سلمون بن نحشون
33 son of Amminadab, son of Admin, son of Arni, son of Hezron, son of Perez, son of Judah,	33 بن عميناداب بن ارام بن حصرون بن فارص بن يهوذا
34 son of Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham, son of Terah, son of Nahor,	34 بن يعقوب بن اسحق بن ابراهيم بن تارح بن ناحور
35 son of Serug, son of Reu, son of Peleg, son of Eber, son of Shelah,	35 بن سروج بن رعو بن فالج بن عابر بن شالح
36 son of Cainan, son of Arphaxad, son of Shem, son of Noah, son of Lamech,	36 بن قينان بن ارفكشاد بن سام بن نوح بن لامك
37 son of Methuselah, son of Enoch, son of Jared, son of Mahalaleel, son of Cainan,	37 بن متوشالح بن اخنوخ بن يارد بن مهللئيل بن قينان
38 son of Enos, son of Seth, son of Adam, son of God.	38 بن انوش بن شيت بن آدم ابن الله
