NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit out into the desert to be put to the test by the devil.	1 Dann wurde Jesus vom Geist in die Wüste geführt; dort sollte er vom Teufel in Versuchung geführt werden.
2 He fasted for forty days and forty nights, after which he was hungry,	2 Als er vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte gefastet hatte, bekam er Hunger.
3 and the tester came and said to him, 'If you are Son of God, tel these stones to turn into loaves.'	3 Da trat der Versucher an ihn heran und sagte: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so befiehl, dass aus diesen Steinen Brot wird.
4 But he replied, 'Scripture says: Human beings live not on bread alone but on every word that comesfrom the mouth of God.'	4 Er aber antwortete: In der Schrift heißt es: Der Mensch lebt nicht nur von Brot, sondern von jedem Wort, das aus Gottes Mund kommt.
5 The devil then took him to the holy city and set him on the parapet of the Temple.	5 Darauf nahm ihn der Teufel mit sich in die Heilige Stadt, stellte ihn oben auf den Tempel
6 'If you are Son of God,' he said, 'throw yourself down; for scripture says: He has given his angels ordersabout you, and they will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.'	6 und sagte zu ihm: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so stürz dich hinab; denn es heißt in der Schrift: Seinen Engeln befiehlt er, dich auf ihren Händen zu tragen, damit dein Fuß nicht an einen Stein stößt.
7 Jesus said to him, 'Scripture also says: Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'	7 Jesus antwortete ihm: In der Schrift heißt es auch: Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht auf die Probe stellen.
8 Next, taking him to a very high mountain, the devil showed him al the kingdoms of the world and theirsplendour.	8 Wieder nahm ihn der Teufel mit sich und führte ihn auf einen sehr hohen Berg; er zeigte ihm alle Reiche der Welt mit ihrer Pracht
9 And he said to him, 'I wil give you al these, if you fal at my feet and do me homage.'	9 und sagte zu ihm: Das alles will ich dir geben, wenn du dich vor mir niederwirfst und mich anbetest.
10 Then Jesus replied, 'Away with you, Satan! For scripture says: The Lord your God is the one to whomyou must do homage, him alone you must serve.'	10 Da sagte Jesus zu ihm: Weg mit dir, Satan! Denn in der Schrift steht: Vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, sollst du dich niederwerfen und ihm allein dienen.
11 Then the devil left him, and suddenly angels appeared and looked after him.	11 Darauf ließ der Teufel von ihm ab und es kamen Engel und dienten ihm.
12 Hearing that John had been arrested he withdrew to Galilee,	12 Als Jesus hörte, dass man Johannes ins Gefängnis geworfen hatte, zog er sich nach Galiläa zurück.
13 and leaving Nazara he went and settled in Capernaum, beside the lake, on the borders of Zebulun andNaphtali.	13 Er verließ Nazaret, um in Kafarnaum zu wohnen, das am See liegt, im Gebiet von Sebulon und Naftali.
14 This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah:	14 Denn es sollte sich erfüllen, was durch den Propheten Jesaja gesagt worden ist:
15 Land of Zebulun! Land of Naphtali! Way of the sea beyond Jordan. Galilee of the nations!	15 Das Land Sebulon und das Land Naftali, die Straße am Meer, das Gebiet jenseits des Jordan, das heidnische Galiläa:
16 The people that lived in darkness have seen a great light; on those who lived in a country of shadowdark as death a light has dawned.	16 das Volk, das im Dunkel lebte, hat ein helles Licht gesehen; denen, die im Schattenreich des Todes wohnten, ist ein Licht erschienen.
17 From then onwards Jesus began his proclamation with the message, 'Repent, for the kingdom ofHeaven is close at hand.'	17 Von da an begann Jesus zu verkünden: Kehrt um! Denn das Himmelreich ist nahe.
18 As he was walking by the Lake of Galilee he saw two brothers, Simon, who was cal ed Peter, and hisbrother Andrew; they were making a cast into the lake with their net, for they were fishermen.	18 Als Jesus am See von Galiläa entlangging, sah er zwei Brüder, Simon, genannt Petrus, und seinen Bruder Andreas; sie warfen gerade ihr Netz in den See, denn sie waren Fischer.
19 And he said to them, 'Come after me and I wil make you fishers of people.'	19 Da sagte er zu ihnen: Kommt her, folgt mir nach! Ich werde euch zu Menschenfischern machen.
20 And at once they left their nets and followed him.	20 Sofort ließen sie ihre Netze liegen und folgten ihm.
21 Going on from there he saw another pair of brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John;they were in their boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets, and he cal ed them.	21 Als er weiterging, sah er zwei andere Brüder, Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und seinen Bruder Johannes; sie waren mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus im Boot und richteten ihre Netze her. Er rief sie,
22 And at once, leaving the boat and their father, they fol owed him.	22 und sogleich verließen sie das Boot und ihren Vater und folgten Jesus.
23 He went round the whole of Galilee teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of thekingdom and curing al kinds of disease and il ness among the people.	23 Er zog in ganz Galiläa umher, lehrte in den Synagogen, verkündete das Evangelium vom Reich und heilte im Volk alle Krankheiten und Leiden.
24 His fame spread throughout Syria, and those who were suffering from diseases and painful complaintsof one kind or another, the possessed, epileptics, the paralysed, were all brought to him, and he cured them.	24 Und sein Ruf verbreitete sich in ganz Syrien. Man brachte Kranke mit den verschiedensten Gebrechen und Leiden zu ihm, Besessene, Mondsüchtige und Gelähmte, und er heilte sie alle.
25 Large crowds fol owed him, coming from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judaea and Transjordan.	25 Scharen von Menschen aus Galiläa, der Dekapolis, aus Jerusalem und Judäa und aus dem Gebiet jenseits des Jordan folgten ihm.
