Matthew 10

1 He summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits with power to drivethem out and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of il ness.	1 Chiamati a sé i dodici suoi discepoli, diede loro il potere di scacciare gli spiriti immondi e di guarire ogni sorta di malattia e di infermità.
2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon who is known as Peter, and his brotherAndrew; James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;	2 I nomi dei dodici apostoli sono: primo Simone, detto Pietro e Andrea suo fratello, Giacomo, figlio di Zebedeo, e Giovanni suo fratello;
3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax col ector; James the son of Alphaeus, andThaddaeus;	3 Filippo e Bartolomeo; Tommaso e Matteo il pubblicano; Giacomo di Alfeo e Taddeo;
4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who was also his betrayer.	4 Simone il Cananeo e Giuda Iscariota, quello che poi lo tradì.
5 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them as fol ows: 'Do not make your way to gentile territory,and do not enter any Samaritan town;	5 Questi sono i Dodici che Gesù inviò, dopo aver dato loro i seguenti avvertimenti: "Non andate dai pagani, né entrate in una città di Samaritani.
6 go instead to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.	6 Rivolgetevi piuttosto alle pecore disperse della casa d'Israele.
7 And as you go, proclaim that the kingdom of Heaven is close at hand.	7 Durante il cammino predicate dicendo: "E' vicino il regno dei cieli".
8 Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those suffering from virulent skin-diseases, drive out devils. Youreceived without charge, give without charge.	8 Guarite gli infermi, risuscitate i morti, mondate i lebbrosi, scacciate i demòni. Gratuitamente avete ricevuto, gratuitamente date.
9 Provide yourselves with no gold or silver, not even with coppers for your purses,	9 Non vi procurate oro o argento o denaro per le vostre tasche,
10 with no haversack for the journey or spare tunic or footwear or a staff, for the labourer deserves hiskeep.	10 non una borsa per il viaggio, né due tuniche, né calzature e neppure un bastone; poiché l'operaio ha diritto al suo sostentamento".
11 'Whatever town or vil age you go into, seek out someone worthy and stay with him until you leave.	11 "Entrando in una città o in un villaggio, informatevi se c'è una persona proba e là restate fino alla vostra partenza.
12 As you enter his house, salute it,	12 Entrando nella casa, datele il vostro saluto,
13 and if the house deserves it, may your peace come upon it; if it does not, may your peace come backto you.	13 e se la casa ne è degna, scenda su di essa la vostra pace; se invece non ne è degna, la vostra pace ritorni a voi.
14 And if anyone does not welcome you or listen to what you have to say, as you walk out of the houseor town shake the dust from your feet.	14 Se uno non vi riceve né vuol ascoltare le vostre parole, uscendo da quella casa o da quella città, scuotete la polvere dai vostri piedi.
15 In truth I tel you, on the Day of Judgement it wil be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah than forthat town.	15 In verità vi dico: nel giorno del giudizio alla terra di Sodoma e Gomorra sarà riservata una sorte più tollerabile che non a quella città".
16 Look, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; so be cunning as snakes and yet innocent asdoves.	16 "Ecco: io vi mando come pecore in mezzo ai lupi; siate dunque prudenti come i serpenti e semplici come le colombe.
17 'Be prepared for people to hand you over to sanhedrins and scourge you in their synagogues.	17 Guardatevi dagli uomini: vi consegneranno ai sinedri e vi flagelleranno nelle loro sinagoghe;
18 You will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, as evidence to them and to the gentiles.	18 sarete trascinati davanti a governatori e re a causa mia, perché rendiate testimonianza ad essi e alle genti.
19 But when you are handed over, do not worry about how to speak or what to say; what you are to saywil be given to you when the time comes,	19 Qualora vi consegnino (nelle loro mani), non vi preoccupate di come o di che cosa dovrete dire. Vi sarà suggerito in quel momento che cosa dovrete dire;
20 because it is not you who wil be speaking; the Spirit of your Father wil be speaking in you.	20 poiché non siete voi a parlare, ma lo Spirito del vostro Padre parlerà in voi.
21 'Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children wil come forward against theirparents and have them put to death.	21 Il fratello consegnerà a morte il fratello, il padre il proprio figlio; i figli sorgeranno contro i genitori e li faranno morire.
22 You will be universally hated on account of my name; but anyone who stands firm to the end wil besaved.	22 Sarete odiati da tutti a causa del mio nome. Chi avrà perseverato sino alla fine, questi si salverà.
23 If they persecute you in one town, take refuge in the next; and if they persecute you in that, takerefuge in another. In truth I tel you, you wil not have gone the round of the towns of Israel before the Son of mancomes.	23 Se vi perseguiteranno in questa città, fuggite nell'altra; poiché in verità vi dico: non terminerete le città d'Israele prima che venga il Figlio dell'uomo.
24 'Disciple is not superior to teacher, nor slave to master.	24 Il discepolo non è da più del maestro, né il servo da più del suo padrone.
25 It is enough for disciple to grow to be like teacher, and slave like master. If they have called themaster of the house "Beelzebul", how much more the members of his household?	25 E' sufficiente per il discepolo diventare come il suo maestro, e per il servo diventare come il suo padrone. Se il padrone di casa l'hanno chiamato Beelzebùl, quanto più i suoi familiari!".
26 'So do not be afraid of them. Everything now covered up wil be uncovered, and everything nowhidden wil be made clear.	26 "Perciò non abbiate paura di loro. Nulla v'è di coperto che non debba essere svelato e di nascosto che non debba essere conosciuto.
27 What I say to you in the dark, tel in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from thehousetops.	27 Ciò che dico a voi nelle tenebre, proclamatelo nella luce; ciò che udite nell'orecchio, annunciatelo sui tetti.
28 'Do not be afraid of those who kil the body but cannot kill the soul; fear him rather who can destroyboth body and soul in hell.	28 Non vi spaventate inoltre per quelli che possono uccidere il corpo, ma non possono uccidere l'anima. Temete piuttosto Colui che ha il potere di far perire nella Geenna e l'anima e il corpo.
29 Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Fatherknowing.	29 Non si vendono forse due passeri per un asse? Ebbene, uno solo di essi non cadrà senza il volere del Padre vostro.
30 Why, every hair on your head has been counted.	30 Perfino i capelli del vostro capo sono tutti numerati.
31 So there is no need to be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.	31 Non temete, dunque: voi valete ben più di molti passeri.
32 'So if anyone declares himself for me in the presence of human beings, I wil declare myself for him inthe presence of my Father in heaven.	32 Perciò, se uno mi riconoscerà davanti agli uomini, anch'io lo riconoscerò davanti al Padre mio che è nei cieli.
33 But the one who disowns me in the presence of human beings, I wil disown in the presence of myFather in heaven.	33 Se invece mi rinnegherà davanti agli uomini, anch'io lo rinnegherò davanti al Padre mio che è nei cieli".
34 'Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth: it is not peace I have come to bring, buta sword.	34 "Non crediate che io sia venuto a portare la pace sulla terra; non sono venuto a portare la pace, ma la spada.
35 For I have come to set son against father, daughter against mother, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law;	35 Sono venuto a separare l'uomo da suo padre, la figlia da sua madre, la nuora da sua suocera;
36 a person's enemies will be the members of his own household.	36 sì, nemici dell'uomo saranno quelli di casa sua.
37 'No one who prefers father or mother to me is worthy of me. No one who prefers son or daughter tome is worthy of me.	37 Chi ama il padre o la madre più di me, non è degno di me; chi ama il figlio o la figlia più di me, non è degno di me.
38 Anyone who does not take his cross and fol ow in my footsteps is not worthy of me.	38 Chi non prende la sua croce dietro a me, non è degno di me.
39 Anyone who finds his life wil lose it; anyone who loses his life for my sake wil find it.	39 Chi avrà trovato la sua vita, la perderà; e chi avrà perduto la sua vita a causa mia, la ritroverà".
40 'Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me; and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one whosent me.	40 "Chi accoglie voi accoglie me e chi accoglie me accoglie Colui che mi ha mandato.
41 'Anyone who welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet wil have a prophet's reward; and anyonewho welcomes an upright person because he is upright wil have the reward of an upright person.	41 Chi accoglie un profeta in quanto profeta, riceverà la ricompensa di un profeta. Chi accoglie un giusto in quanto giusto, riceverà la ricompensa di un giusto.
42 'If anyone gives so much as a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple,then in truth I tel you, he wil most certainly not go without his reward.'	42 Chi avrà dissetato anche con un solo bicchiere d'acqua fresca uno di questi piccoli, in quanto discepolo, in verità vi dico: non perderà la sua ricompensa".
