1 He summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits with power to drivethem out and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of il ness.	1 - Chiamati a sè i suoi dodici discepoli, diede loro il potere di scacciare gli spiriti immondi e di guarire ogni malattia e ogni infermità.
2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon who is known as Peter, and his brotherAndrew; James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;	2 I nomi dei dodici apostoli son questi: il primo, Simone, detto Pietro, e Andrea suo fratello,
3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax col ector; James the son of Alphaeus, andThaddaeus;	3 Giacomo figlio di Zebedeo, e Giovanni suo fratello, Filippo e Bartolomeo; Tommaso e Matteo il pubblicano, Giacomo figlio di Alfeo, e Taddeo;
4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who was also his betrayer.	4 Simone il Cananeo, e Giuda l'Iscariote, lo stesso che poi lo tradì.
5 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them as fol ows: 'Do not make your way to gentile territory,and do not enter any Samaritan town;	5 Gesù mandò i dodici, dando loro queste istruzioni: «Non andate tra i Gentili e non entrate nelle città dei Samaritani,
6 go instead to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.	6 ma andate piuttosto alle pecore perdute della casa di Israele.
7 And as you go, proclaim that the kingdom of Heaven is close at hand.	7 Andando, predicate e annunziate che il regno dei cieli è vicino.
8 Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those suffering from virulent skin-diseases, drive out devils. Youreceived without charge, give without charge.	8 Guarite gli infermi, risuscitate i morti, mondate i lebbrosi, scacciate i demoni; avete ricevuto gratuitamente, gratuitamente date.
9 Provide yourselves with no gold or silver, not even with coppers for your purses,	9 Non tenete nelle vostre cinture nè oro, nè argento, nè denaro;
10 with no haversack for the journey or spare tunic or footwear or a staff, for the labourer deserves hiskeep.	10 non abbiate bisaccia, nè due vesti, nè calzari, nè bastone; perchè l'operaio è degno del suo nutrimento.
11 'Whatever town or vil age you go into, seek out someone worthy and stay with him until you leave.	11 In qualunque città o villaggio entriate, informatevi prima se vi sia chi lo meriti, e fermatevi presso di lui fino alla vostra partenza.
12 As you enter his house, salute it,	12 Entrando nella casa, salutatela così: - Pace a questa casa! -
13 and if the house deserves it, may your peace come upon it; if it does not, may your peace come backto you.	13 E se quella casa ne è degna, venga la vostra pace su di essa; ma se non ne è degna ritorni la vostra pace a voi.
14 And if anyone does not welcome you or listen to what you have to say, as you walk out of the houseor town shake the dust from your feet.	14 Che se qualcuno non vi riceve e non ascolta le vostre parole, uscendo da quella casa o da quella città, scotete la polvere dai vostri piedi.
15 In truth I tel you, on the Day of Judgement it wil be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah than forthat town.	15 In verità vi dico che il giorno del giudizio sarà trattato con minor rigore il paese di Sodoma e Gomorra che non quella città.
16 Look, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; so be cunning as snakes and yet innocent asdoves.	16 Ecco, io vi mando come pecore in mezzo ai lupi. Siate sempre prudenti come i serpenti, e semplici come le colombe.
17 'Be prepared for people to hand you over to sanhedrins and scourge you in their synagogues.	17 Guardatevi dagli uomini, perchè essi vi faranno comparire nei tribunali e vi flagelleranno nelle loro sinagoghe;
18 You will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, as evidence to them and to the gentiles.	18 e sarete condotti per causa mia davanti ai governatori e ai re per rendermi testimonianza davanti a loro e davanti ai Gentili.
19 But when you are handed over, do not worry about how to speak or what to say; what you are to saywil be given to you when the time comes,	19 Ma quando sarete posti nelle loro mani, non preoccupatevi del come parlerete nè di ciò che dovrete dire; in quel momento vi sarà suggerito ciò che dovrete dire,
20 because it is not you who wil be speaking; the Spirit of your Father wil be speaking in you.	20 perchè non siete voi a parlare, ma è lo Spirito del Padre vostro, che parla in voi.
21 'Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children wil come forward against theirparents and have them put to death.	21 Il fratello metterà a morte il fratello e il padre il figlio, e i figli insorgeranno contro i genitori, e li faranno morire.
22 You will be universally hated on account of my name; but anyone who stands firm to the end wil besaved.	22 E sarete odiati da tutti per causa del mio nome; ma chi avrà perseverato sino alla fine sarà salvo.
23 If they persecute you in one town, take refuge in the next; and if they persecute you in that, takerefuge in another. In truth I tel you, you wil not have gone the round of the towns of Israel before the Son of mancomes.	23 Quando vi perseguiteranno in una città, fuggite in un'altra; perchè vi dico in verità che non terminerete di percorrere le città d'Israele prima che venga il Figliuolo dell'uomo.
24 'Disciple is not superior to teacher, nor slave to master.	24 Il discepolo non è superiore al maestro nè il servo al padrone.
25 It is enough for disciple to grow to be like teacher, and slave like master. If they have called themaster of the house "Beelzebul", how much more the members of his household?	25 Basti al discepolo d'essere come il suo maestro e al servo d'essere come il suo padrone. Se hanno chiamato Beelzebub il padrone di casa, quanto più chiameranno così quelli della sua casa!
26 'So do not be afraid of them. Everything now covered up wil be uncovered, and everything nowhidden wil be made clear.	26 Non li temete adunque, perchè non c'è niente di nascosto che non sarà scoperto, e niente di segreto che non sarà conosciuto.
27 What I say to you in the dark, tel in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from thehousetops.	27 Quello che io vi dico nelle tenebre, ditelo alla luce del sole; e ciò che vi è stato detto in un orecchio, predicatelo sui tetti.
28 'Do not be afraid of those who kil the body but cannot kill the soul; fear him rather who can destroyboth body and soul in hell.	28 Non temete coloro che uccidono il corpo, ma non possono uccidere l'anima; temete piuttosto chi può far perdere nella Geenna e anima e corpo.
29 Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Fatherknowing.	29 Due passeri non si vendono per un asse? Eppure nemmeno uno di essi cade in terra senza il permesso del Padre vostro.
30 Why, every hair on your head has been counted.	30 Perfino i capelli del vostro capo son tutti contati!
31 So there is no need to be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.	31 Non temete dunque; voi siete da più di molti passeri.
32 'So if anyone declares himself for me in the presence of human beings, I wil declare myself for him inthe presence of my Father in heaven.	32 Chi dunque mi avrà confessato davanti agli uomini, anch'io lo confesserò davanti al Padre mio, che è nei cieli;
33 But the one who disowns me in the presence of human beings, I wil disown in the presence of myFather in heaven.	33 ma chi m'avrà rinnegato davanti agli uomini, anch'io lo rinnegherò davanti al Padre mio, che è nei cieli.
34 'Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth: it is not peace I have come to bring, buta sword.	34 Non pensate che io sia venuto a portar la pace sulla terra; non son venuto a portar la pace, ma la spada.
35 For I have come to set son against father, daughter against mother, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law;	35 Io sono infatti venuto a mettere in discordia il figlio col padre, la figlia con la madre e la nuora con la suocera;
36 a person's enemies will be the members of his own household.	36 e i nemici dell'uomo saranno i suoi familiari.
37 'No one who prefers father or mother to me is worthy of me. No one who prefers son or daughter tome is worthy of me.	37 Chi ama il padre o la madre più di me, non è degno di me; e chi ama il figlio o la figlia più di me, non è degno di me.
38 Anyone who does not take his cross and fol ow in my footsteps is not worthy of me.	38 Chi non prende la sua croce e non mi segue, non è degno di me.
39 Anyone who finds his life wil lose it; anyone who loses his life for my sake wil find it.	39 Chi terrà da conto la sua vita, la perderà, e chi l'avrà perduta per causa mia, la ritroverà.
40 'Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me; and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one whosent me.	40 Chi riceve voi, riceve me, e chi riceve me riceve Colui che mi ha mandato.
41 'Anyone who welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet wil have a prophet's reward; and anyonewho welcomes an upright person because he is upright wil have the reward of an upright person.	41 Chi riceve un profeta come profeta, avrà la ricompensa del profeta; e chi riceve un giusto come giusto, avrà la ricompensa del giusto.
42 'If anyone gives so much as a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple,then in truth I tel you, he wil most certainly not go without his reward.'	42 E chi darà da bere anche un solo bicchiere d'acqua fresca ad uno di questi piccoli, perchè è mio discepolo, io vi dico in verità che non perderà la sua ricompensa».
