Matthew 10

1 He summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits with power to drivethem out and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of il ness.	1 Dann rief er seine zwölf Jünger zu sich und gab ihnen die Vollmacht, die unreinen Geister auszutreiben und alle Krankheiten und Leiden zu heilen.
2 These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon who is known as Peter, and his brotherAndrew; James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John;	2 Die Namen der zwölf Apostel sind: an erster Stelle Simon, genannt Petrus, und sein Bruder Andreas, dann Jakobus, der Sohn des Zebedäus, und sein Bruder Johannes,
3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the tax col ector; James the son of Alphaeus, andThaddaeus;	3 Philippus und Bartholomäus, Thomas und Matthäus, der Zöllner, Jakobus, der Sohn des Alphäus, und Thaddäus,

5 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them as fol ows: 'Do not make your way to gentile territory,and do not enter any Samaritan town;	5 Diese Zwölf sandte Jesus aus und gebot ihnen: Geht nicht zu den Heiden und betretet keine Stadt der Samariter,
6 go instead to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.	6 sondern geht zu den verlorenen Schafen des Hauses Israel.
7 And as you go, proclaim that the kingdom of Heaven is close at hand.	7 Geht und verkündet: Das Himmelreich ist nahe.
8 Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those suffering from virulent skin-diseases, drive out devils. Youreceived without charge, give without charge.	8 Heilt Kranke, weckt Tote auf, macht Aussätzige rein, treibt Dämonen aus! Umsonst habt ihr empfangen, umsonst sollt ihr geben.
9 Provide yourselves with no gold or silver, not even with coppers for your purses,	9 Steckt nicht Gold, Silber und Kupfermünzen in euren Gürtel.
10 with no haversack for the journey or spare tunic or footwear or a staff, for the labourer deserves hiskeep.	10 Nehmt keine Vorratstasche mit auf den Weg, kein zweites Hemd, keine Schuhe, keinen Wanderstab; denn wer arbeitet, hat ein Recht auf seinen Unterhalt.
11 'Whatever town or vil age you go into, seek out someone worthy and stay with him until you leave.	11 Wenn ihr in eine Stadt oder in ein Dorf kommt, erkundigt euch, wer es wert ist, euch aufzunehmen; bei ihm bleibt, bis ihr den Ort wieder verlasst.
12 As you enter his house, salute it,	12 Wenn ihr in ein Haus kommt, dann wünscht ihm Frieden.
13 and if the house deserves it, may your peace come upon it; if it does not, may your peace come backto you.	13 Wenn das Haus es wert ist, soll der Friede, den ihr ihm wünscht, bei ihm einkehren. Ist das Haus es aber nicht wert, dann soll der Friede zu euch zurückkehren.
14 And if anyone does not welcome you or listen to what you have to say, as you walk out of the houseor town shake the dust from your feet.	14 Wenn man euch aber in einem Haus oder in einer Stadt nicht aufnimmt und eure Worte nicht hören will, dann geht weg und schüttelt den Staub von euren Füßen.
15 In truth I tel you, on the Day of Judgement it wil be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah than forthat town.	15 Amen, das sage ich euch: Dem Gebiet von Sodom und Gomorra wird es am Tag des Gerichts nicht so schlimm ergehen wie dieser Stadt.
16 Look, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; so be cunning as snakes and yet innocent asdoves.	16 Seht, ich sende euch wie Schafe mitten unter die Wölfe; seid daher klug wie die Schlangen und arglos wie die Tauben!
17 'Be prepared for people to hand you over to sanhedrins and scourge you in their synagogues.	17 Nehmt euch aber vor den Menschen in Acht! Denn sie werden euch vor die Gerichte bringen und in ihren Synagogen auspeitschen.
18 You will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, as evidence to them and to the gentiles.	18 Ihr werdet um meinetwillen vor Statthalter und Könige geführt, damit ihr vor ihnen und den Heiden Zeugnis ablegt.
19 But when you are handed over, do not worry about how to speak or what to say; what you are to saywil be given to you when the time comes,	19 Wenn man euch vor Gericht stellt, macht euch keine Sorgen, wie und was ihr reden sollt; denn es wird euch in jener Stunde eingegeben, was ihr sagen sollt.
20 because it is not you who wil be speaking; the Spirit of your Father wil be speaking in you.	20 Nicht ihr werdet dann reden, sondern der Geist eures Vaters wird durch euch reden.
21 'Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children wil come forward against theirparents and have them put to death.	21 Brüder werden einander dem Tod ausliefern und Väter ihre Kinder, und die Kinder werden sich gegen ihre Eltern auflehnen und sie in den Tod schicken.
22 You will be universally hated on account of my name; but anyone who stands firm to the end wil besaved.	22 Und ihr werdet um meines Namens willen von allen gehasst werden; wer aber bis zum Ende standhaft bleibt, der wird gerettet.
23 If they persecute you in one town, take refuge in the next; and if they persecute you in that, takerefuge in another. In truth I tel you, you wil not have gone the round of the towns of Israel before the Son of mancomes.	23 Wenn man euch in der einen Stadt verfolgt, so flieht in eine andere. Amen, ich sage euch: Ihr werdet nicht zu Ende kommen mit den Städten Israels, bis der Menschensohn kommt.
24 'Disciple is not superior to teacher, nor slave to master.	24 Ein Jünger steht nicht über seinem Meister und ein Sklave nicht über seinem Herrn.
25 It is enough for disciple to grow to be like teacher, and slave like master. If they have called themaster of the house "Beelzebul", how much more the members of his household?	25 Der Jünger muss sich damit begnügen, dass es ihm geht wie seinem Meister, und der Sklave, dass es ihm geht wie seinem Herrn. Wenn man schon den Herrn des Hauses Beelzebul nennt, dann erst recht seine Hausgenossen.
26 'So do not be afraid of them. Everything now covered up wil be uncovered, and everything nowhidden wil be made clear.	26 Darum fürchtet euch nicht vor ihnen! Denn nichts ist verhüllt, was nicht enthüllt wird, und nichts ist verborgen, was nicht bekannt wird.
27 What I say to you in the dark, tel in the daylight; what you hear in whispers, proclaim from thehousetops.	27 Was ich euch im Dunkeln sage, davon redet am hellen Tag, und was man euch ins Ohr flüstert, das verkündet von den Dächern.
28 'Do not be afraid of those who kil the body but cannot kill the soul; fear him rather who can destroyboth body and soul in hell.	28 Fürchtet euch nicht vor denen, die den Leib töten, die Seele aber nicht töten können, sondern fürchtet euch vor dem, der Seele und Leib ins Verderben der Hölle stürzen kann.
29 Can you not buy two sparrows for a penny? And yet not one falls to the ground without your Fatherknowing.	29 Verkauft man nicht zwei Spatzen für ein paar Pfennig? Und doch fällt keiner von ihnen zur Erde ohne den Willen eures Vaters.
30 Why, every hair on your head has been counted.	30 Bei euch aber sind sogar die Haare auf dem Kopf alle gezählt.
31 So there is no need to be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.	31 Fürchtet euch also nicht! Ihr seid mehr wert als viele Spatzen.
32 'So if anyone declares himself for me in the presence of human beings, I wil declare myself for him inthe presence of my Father in heaven.	32 Wer sich nun vor den Menschen zu mir bekennt, zu dem werde auch ich mich vor meinem Vater im Himmel bekennen.
33 But the one who disowns me in the presence of human beings, I wil disown in the presence of myFather in heaven.	33 Wer mich aber vor den Menschen verleugnet, den werde auch ich vor meinem Vater im Himmel verleugnen.
34 'Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth: it is not peace I have come to bring, buta sword.	34 Denkt nicht, ich sei gekommen, um Frieden auf die Erde zu bringen. Ich bin nicht gekommen, um Frieden zu bringen, sondern das Schwert.
35 For I have come to set son against father, daughter against mother, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law;	35 Denn ich bin gekommen, um den Sohn mit seinem Vater zu entzweien und die Tochter mit ihrer Mutter und die Schwiegertochter mit ihrer Schwiegermutter;
36 a person's enemies will be the members of his own household.	36 und die Hausgenossen eines Menschen werden seine Feinde sein.
37 'No one who prefers father or mother to me is worthy of me. No one who prefers son or daughter tome is worthy of me.	37 Wer Vater oder Mutter mehr liebt als mich, ist meiner nicht würdig, und wer Sohn oder Tochter mehr liebt als mich, ist meiner nicht würdig.
38 Anyone who does not take his cross and fol ow in my footsteps is not worthy of me.	38 Und wer nicht sein Kreuz auf sich nimmt und mir nachfolgt, ist meiner nicht würdig.
39 Anyone who finds his life wil lose it; anyone who loses his life for my sake wil find it.	39 Wer das Leben gewinnen will, wird es verlieren; wer aber das Leben um meinetwillen verliert, wird es gewinnen.
40 'Anyone who welcomes you welcomes me; and anyone who welcomes me welcomes the one whosent me.	40 Wer euch aufnimmt, der nimmt mich auf, und wer mich aufnimmt, nimmt den auf, der mich gesandt hat.
41 'Anyone who welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet wil have a prophet's reward; and anyonewho welcomes an upright person because he is upright wil have the reward of an upright person.	41 Wer einen Propheten aufnimmt, weil es ein Prophet ist, wird den Lohn eines Propheten erhalten. Wer einen Gerechten aufnimmt, weil es ein Gerechter ist, wird den Lohn eines Gerechten erhalten.
42 'If anyone gives so much as a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple,then in truth I tel you, he wil most certainly not go without his reward.'	42 Und wer einem von diesen Kleinen auch nur einen Becher frisches Wasser zu trinken gibt, weil es ein Jünger ist - amen, ich sage euch: Er wird gewiss nicht um seinen Lohn kommen.
