Zephaniah 1

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 The word of Yahweh which was addressed to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son ofAmariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah.	1 Szofoniáshoz, annak a Kúsinak a fiához, aki Gedaljának volt a fia, aki meg Amarjának, Hiszkija fiának volt a fia, a következő szózatot intézte az Úr Jozijának, Ámon fiának, Júda királyának napjaiban.
2 I shall sweep away everything off the face of the earth, declares Yahweh.	2 »Bizony elpusztítok én mindent a föld színéről – mondja az Úr. –
3 I shall sweep away humans and animals, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, I shal topple thewicked and wipe al people off the face of the earth -declares Yahweh.	3 Elpusztítok embert, állatot, elpusztítom az ég madarait és a tenger halait; és romlás jön az istentelenekre, és kiirtom én az embert a föld színéről – mondja az Úr. –
4 I shall raise my hand against Judah and against al who live in Jerusalem, and from this place I wil wipeout Baal's remnant, the very name of his priests,	4 És kinyújtom kezemet Júdára és Jeruzsálem minden lakójára, és kiirtom erről a helyről Baált maradéktalanul, szolgáinak nevével és papjaival együtt.
5 and those who prostrate themselves on the roofs before the array of heaven, and those who prostratethemselves before Yahweh but swear by Milcom,	5 És azokat, akik a háztetőkön az ég seregét imádják, és azokat, akik imádják ugyan az Urat és rá esküsznek, de Melkomra is esküsznek,
6 and those who have turned their back on Yahweh, who do not seek Yahweh and do not consult him.	6 és azokat, akik elfordultak az Úrtól, s akik nem keresik az Urat, sem nem törődnek vele.«
7 Silence before Lord Yahweh, for the Day of Yahweh is near! Yahweh has prepared a sacrifice, he hasconsecrated his guests.	7 Hallgassatok el az Úr Isten színe előtt, mert közel van az Úr napja, mert áldozatot készített az Úr, és megszentelte meghívottjait!
8 On the Day of Yahweh's sacrifice, I shal punish the courtiers, the royal princes and al who dress inoutlandish clothes.	8 »Ez történik majd akkor, az Úr áldozatának napján: megfenyítem majd a fejedelmeket, a királyfiakat és mindazokat, akik idegen ruhába öltöznek,
9 On that day I shal punish al who go up the Step and fil the Temple of their lords, with violence anddeceit.	9 és megfenyítem azon a napon mindazokat, akik kihívó módon átlépik a küszöböt, s akik gonoszsággal és csalárdsággal töltik meg Uruknak, Istenüknek házát.
10 On that Day -- declares Yahweh -- uproar wil be heard from the Fish Gate, wailing from the NewQuarter and a great crash from the hil s.	10 Azon a napon – mondja az Úr –, majd vészkiáltás hangzik a Halkapu felől, és jajveszékelés az Újváros felől, és nagy robaj a dombok felől.
11 Wail, you who live in the Hollow, for it is al over with the merchants, all the money-bags have beenwiped out!	11 Jajveszékeljetek csak, Mozsár lakói, mert elpusztult Kánaán egész népe, elvesztek mindazok, akik ezüstöt mértek.
12 When that time comes I shal search Jerusalem by lamplight and punish the men stagnating over theremains of their wine, who say in their hearts, 'Yahweh can do nothing, either good or bad.'	12 Azon a napon majd lámpással átkutatom Jeruzsálemet, és meglátogatom a férfiakat, akik olyanok, mint a seprőjére ülepedett bor; s akik azt gondolják magukban: ‘Nem tesz az Úr jót, és nem tesz rosszat sem!’
13 For this, their wealth wil be looted and their houses laid in ruins; they wil build houses but not live inthem, they wil plant vineyards but not drink their wine.	13 Kincsük akkor majd prédára jut, házuk pusztaságra. Építsenek bár házakat, nem laknak majd bennük; ültessenek bár szőlőket, nem isszák majd borukat!«
14 The great Day of Yahweh is near, near, and coming with great speed. How bitter the sound of the Dayof Yahweh, the Day when the warrior shouts his cry of war.	14 Közel van az Úr nagy napja; közel bizony, hamarosan elérkezik! Keserves hang hallatszik az Úr napján, szorong majd akkor a hős is.
15 That Day is a day of retribution, a day of distress and tribulation, a day of ruin and of devastation, aday of darkness and gloom, a day of cloud and thick fog,	15 Harag napja lesz az a nap, szorongatás és szükség napja, veszedelem és nyomorúság napja, sötétség és homály napja, felhő és vihar napja,
16 a day of trumpet blast and battle cry against fortified town and high corner-tower.	16 trombita és harsona napja a megerősített városok ellen és a magas bástyák ellen!
17 I shal bring such distress on humanity that they will grope their way like the blind for having sinnedagainst Yahweh. Their blood wil be poured out like mud, yes, their corpses like dung;	17 Szorongást bocsátok akkor majd az emberekre, és járásuk olyan lesz, mint a vakoké, mert vétkeztek az Úr ellen. Vérük kiömlik, mint a por, belük pedig, mint a szemét.
18 nor wil their silver or gold be able to save them. On the Day of Yahweh's anger, by the fire of hisjealousy, the whole earth will be consumed. For he will destroy, yes, annihilate everyone living on earth.	18 Sem ezüstjük, sem aranyuk nem szabadíthatja meg őket az Úr haragjának napján; bosszújának tüze megemészti az egész földet, bizony hamar véget vet a föld valamennyi lakosának.
