NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 The word of Yahweh which was addressed to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son ofAmariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah.	1 Parole de Yahvé qui fut adressée à Sophonie, fils de Kouchi, fils de Guédalyas, fils d’Amarya, fils de Hizkiyas, au temps de Josias, fils d’Ammon, roi de Juda.
2 I shall sweep away everything off the face of the earth, declares Yahweh.	2 J’enlèverai tout de dessus la terre - parole de Yahvé.
3 I shall sweep away humans and animals, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, I shal topple thewicked and wipe al people off the face of the earth -declares Yahweh.	3 J’enlèverai hommes et bêtes, j’enlèverai les oiseaux du ciel et les poissons de la mer. J’exterminerai l’homme de dessus la terre - parole de Yahvé.
4 I shall raise my hand against Judah and against al who live in Jerusalem, and from this place I wil wipeout Baal's remnant, the very name of his priests,	4 J’étendrai la main contre Juda et tous les habitants de Jérusalem, j’enlèverai de ce lieu ce qui reste du Baal et le nom des prêtres païens.
5 and those who prostrate themselves on the roofs before the array of heaven, and those who prostratethemselves before Yahweh but swear by Milcom,	5 J’exterminerai ceux qui se prosternent sur les toits devant l’armée des cieux, ceux qui se prosternent et qui jurent en même temps par Yahvé et par Milkom;
6 and those who have turned their back on Yahweh, who do not seek Yahweh and do not consult him.	6 ceux qui se détournent de Yahvé, qui ne le recherchent pas et ne le consultent pas.
7 Silence before Lord Yahweh, for the Day of Yahweh is near! Yahweh has prepared a sacrifice, he hasconsecrated his guests.	7 Faites silence devant le Seigneur Yahvé, car son jour est proche. Yahvé a préparé un sacrifice, il a déjà consacré ses invités.
8 On the Day of Yahweh's sacrifice, I shal punish the courtiers, the royal princes and al who dress inoutlandish clothes.	8 Voici ce qui arrivera au jour du sacrifice de Yahvé: je demanderai des comptes aux princes, aux fils de roi et à tous ceux qui s’habillent à la mode étrangère.
9 On that day I shal punish al who go up the Step and fil the Temple of their lords, with violence anddeceit.	9 Je demanderai des comptes à tous ceux qui franchissent en sautant la porte du Temple de leur Seigneur, à ceux qui le remplissent de violence et de mensonge.
10 On that Day -- declares Yahweh -- uproar wil be heard from the Fish Gate, wailing from the NewQuarter and a great crash from the hil s.	10 En ce jour-là - parole de Yahvé - ce seront des cris à la porte des Poissons, des hurlements dans la ville neuve et un grand vacarme du côté des collines.
11 Wail, you who live in the Hollow, for it is al over with the merchants, all the money-bags have beenwiped out!	11 Criez, habitants du Quartier Creux, car tout le marché de Canaan est anéanti; tous ces gens pleins d’argent sont supprimés.
12 When that time comes I shal search Jerusalem by lamplight and punish the men stagnating over theremains of their wine, who say in their hearts, 'Yahweh can do nothing, either good or bad.'	12 En ce temps-là je fouillerai Jérusalem avec des lanternes et je demanderai des comptes à ceux qui restent sur leurs ordures. Laissez-les dire: “Yahvé ne fait ni bien ni mal”;
13 For this, their wealth wil be looted and their houses laid in ruins; they wil build houses but not live inthem, they wil plant vineyards but not drink their wine.	13 leurs biens seront livrés au pillage et leurs maisons à la ruine ( ).
14 The great Day of Yahweh is near, near, and coming with great speed. How bitter the sound of the Dayof Yahweh, the Day when the warrior shouts his cry of war.	14 Le grand jour de Yahvé est proche, il est proche et il vient en courant. Quel jour amer, ce jour de Yahvé! Le plus courageux hurlera.

16 a day of trumpet blast and battle cry against fortified town and high corner-tower.	16 jour où le cor, au haut du rempart, sonne l’alarme sur les villes fortes.
17 I shal bring such distress on humanity that they will grope their way like the blind for having sinnedagainst Yahweh. Their blood wil be poured out like mud, yes, their corpses like dung;	17 Je mettrai les hommes dans l’angoisse, je les ferai marcher en aveugles, car ils ont péché contre Yahvé. Leur sang sera partout, comme la poussière, leur chair deviendra fumier.
18 nor wil their silver or gold be able to save them. On the Day of Yahweh's anger, by the fire of hisjealousy, the whole earth will be consumed. For he will destroy, yes, annihilate everyone living on earth.	18 Ni leur argent ni leur or ne pourront les sauver au jour de la fureur de Yahvé. Toute la terre sera dévorée par le feu de sa jalousie; sur tous les habitants de la terre viendra la fin, la destruction soudaine.
