¹ Then the heads of families of the clan descended from Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, oneof the clans descended from Joseph, came forward and, addressing Moses and the leaders, the Israelite headsof families,	¹ I capicasata della famiglia dei figli di Galaad, figlio di Machir, figlio di Manasse, una delle famiglie dei figli di Giuseppe, si accostarono per parlare innanzi a Mosè, al sacerdote Eleazaro e ai principi capicasata dei figli di Israele
² they said: 'Yahweh has ordered my lord to apportion the Israelites' heritages in the country by lot andmy lord has been ordered by Yahweh to give the heritage of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.	² e dissero: «Jahvè ha ordinato al mio signore di assegnare la terra in eredità ai figli di Israele mediante il sorteggio; il mio signore ha ricevuto l’ordine da Jahvè di dare l’eredità di Zelofekhad nostro fratello alle sue figlie.
³ Now, if they marry someone from another Israelite tribe, their heritage wil be alienated from ourancestral heritage. The heritage of the tribe to which they wil then belong wil be increased, and the heritage al otted to us will be diminished.	³ Ora, se esse sposano membri di altre tribù dei figli di Israele, la loro eredità sarà sottratta dall’eredità dei nostri padri, sarà aggiunta all’eredità della tribù a cui apparterranno, così sarà sottratta dalla sorte della nostra eredità.
⁴ And when the jubilee for the Israelites comes round, these women's heritage will become part of theheritage of the tribe to which they then belong, and be alienated from the heritage of our ancestral tribe.'	⁴ Quando verrà il giubileo per i figli di Israele, la loro eredità sarà aggiunta all’eredità delle tribù a cui apparterranno dall’eredità della tribù dei nostri padri sarà così sottratta la loro eredità».

⁶ This is Yahweh's ruling for Zelophehad's daughters: "They may marry whom they please, providingthey marry into a clan of their father's tribe.	⁶ Ecco: quanto Jahvè ordina per le glie di Zelofekhad: Sposeranno chi piacerà loro, purché si sposino in una famiglia della tribù paterna.
⁷ But the heritages of Israelites are not to be transferred from tribe to tribe; each Israelite wil stick tothe heritage of his own tribe.	⁷ L’eredità dei figli di Israele non passerà: da tribù a tribù poiché ognuno dei figli di Israele resterà unito all’eredità della tribù dei suoi padri.
⁸ Any daughter who owns a heritage in an Israelite tribe will marry into a clan of her own paternal tribe,so that the Israelites may each preserve the heritage of his father.	⁸ Ogni figlia che possiede una eredità in una delle tribù di Israele si dovrà sposare in una famiglia della tribù paterna, affinché ognuno dei figli di Israele possieda l’eredità di suo padre
⁹ No heritage may be transferred from one tribe to another; each Israelite tribe wil stick to its ownheritage." '	⁹ e una eredità non passi da tribù a tribù: ognuna delle tribù dei figli di Israele resterà unita alla propria eredità».
¹⁰ Zelophehad's daughters did as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	¹⁰ Le figlie di Zelofekhad fecero: come Jahvè aveva ordinato a Mosè,
¹¹ Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, daughters of Zelophehad, married the sons of theirfather's brothers.	¹¹ Makhla, Tirza, Khogla, Milcha e Noa sposarono i figli dei loro zii paterni.
¹² Since they married into clans descended from Manasseh son of Joseph, their heritage reverted tothe tribe of their father's clan.	¹² Si sposarono entro e famiglie dei del di Manasse figlio di Giuseppe e la loro eredità rimase nella tribù della famiglia paterna.
¹³ Such were the commandments and laws that Yahweh prescribed for the Israelites through Moseson the Plains of Moab near the Jordan by Jericho.n	¹³ Questi sono i comandamenti e le leggi che Jahvè prescrisse ai figli di Israele per mezzo di Mosè: nelle steppe di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gerico.
