1 Then the heads of families of the clan descended from Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, oneof the clans descended from Joseph, came forward and, addressing Moses and the leaders, the Israelite headsof families,	1 Os chefes de família dos filhos de Galaad, filho de Maquir, filho de Manassés, da raça de José, apresentaram-se diante de Moisés e dos principais chefes das famílias israelitas:
2 they said: 'Yahweh has ordered my lord to apportion the Israelites' heritages in the country by lot andmy lord has been ordered by Yahweh to give the heritage of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.	2 "O Senhor, disseram eles, ordenou ao meu senhor que desse, por sorte, a terra em herança aos israelitas; e o Senhor ordenou ao meu senhor que desse às filhas de Salfaad, nosso irmão, a herança devida ao seu pai.
3 Now, if they marry someone from another Israelite tribe, their heritage wil be alienated from ourancestral heritage. The heritage of the tribe to which they wil then belong wil be increased, and the heritage al otted to us will be diminished.	3 Mas se homens de outra tribo as receberem por mulheres, a sua herança será retirada do patrimônio de nossos pais e acrescentada ao da tribo na qual elas se casarem; e assim será diminuída a nossa herança.
4 And when the jubilee for the Israelites comes round, these women's heritage will become part of theheritage of the tribe to which they then belong, and be alienated from the heritage of our ancestral tribe.'	4 Quando chegar o jubileu dos filhos de Israel, a sua herança será unida à da tribo a que pertencerem, e separada da de nossos pais."
5 At Yahweh's bidding, Moses gave the Israelites this order. He said: 'What the Josephite tribe says istrue.	5 Moisés, então, respondeu aos filhos de Israel por ordem do Senhor: "Tem razão a tribo dos filhos de José.
6 This is Yahweh's ruling for Zelophehad's daughters: "They may marry whom they please, providingthey marry into a clan of their father's tribe.	6 Eis a ordem do Senhor para as filhas de Salfaad: casem com quem quiserem, contanto que seja com alguém de uma família da tribo paterna;
7 But the heritages of Israelites are not to be transferred from tribe to tribe; each Israelite wil stick tothe heritage of his own tribe.	7 desse modo as possessões dos israelitas não passarão de uma tribo à outra, e cada israelita ficará na herança da tribo de seus pais.
8 Any daughter who owns a heritage in an Israelite tribe will marry into a clan of her own paternal tribe,so that the Israelites may each preserve the heritage of his father.	8 Todas as mulheres que possuírem um patrimônio em uma tribo israelita, tomarão marido na tribo paterna, a fim de que cada israelita conserve o patrimônio de família.
9 No heritage may be transferred from one tribe to another; each Israelite tribe wil stick to its ownheritage." '	9 Herança alguma poderá passar de uma tribo à outra: deve cada tribo israelita permanecer no que é seu."
10 Zelophehad's daughters did as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	10 As filhas de Salfaad comportaram-se segundo a ordem do Senhor.
11 Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, daughters of Zelophehad, married the sons of theirfather's brothers.	11 Maala, Tersa, Hegla, Melca e Noa, filhas de Salfaad, casaram-se com filhos de seus tios;
12 Since they married into clans descended from Manasseh son of Joseph, their heritage reverted tothe tribe of their father's clan.	12 casaram-se, pois, em famílias saídas de Manassés, filho de José, e a possessão que lhes tocava permaneceu na tribo de seu pai.
13 Such were the commandments and laws that Yahweh prescribed for the Israelites through Moseson the Plains of Moab near the Jordan by Jericho.n	13 Tais são as leis e as ordenações que o Senhor transmitiu aos israelitas por intermédio de Moisés nas planícies de Moab, perto do Jordão, defronte de Jericó.
