1 Then the heads of families of the clan descended from Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, oneof the clans descended from Joseph, came forward and, addressing Moses and the leaders, the Israelite headsof families,	1 Előálltak ekkor Gileád nagycsaládjainak fejei – Gileád Mákirnak, Manassze fiának volt a fia – József fiainak nemzetségéből és így szóltak Mózeshez, Izrael fejedelmei előtt:
2 they said: 'Yahweh has ordered my lord to apportion the Israelites' heritages in the country by lot andmy lord has been ordered by Yahweh to give the heritage of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.	2 »Neked, urunknak, azt parancsolta az Úr, hogy sors útján oszd el a földet Izrael fiai között, meg hogy Celofhád testvérünk lányainak add oda az atyjukat illető birtokot.
3 Now, if they marry someone from another Israelite tribe, their heritage wil be alienated from ourancestral heritage. The heritage of the tribe to which they wil then belong wil be increased, and the heritage al otted to us will be diminished.	3 Ha ezeket más törzsből való emberek veszik feleségül, akkor birtokuk követi őket és más törzsre száll, s a mi örökségünk csökken.
4 And when the jubilee for the Israelites comes round, these women's heritage will become part of theheritage of the tribe to which they then belong, and be alienated from the heritage of our ancestral tribe.'	4 Így aztán az fog történni, hogy amikor az örvendetes esztendő, vagyis a szabadulás ötvenedik esztendeje elérkezik, az, amit a sors szétosztott, összezavarodik, s az egyik törzs birtoka a másikra száll.«
5 At Yahweh's bidding, Moses gave the Israelites this order. He said: 'What the Josephite tribe says istrue.	5 Azt felelte és mondta erre Mózes az Úr parancsából Izrael fiainak: »József fiainak törzse helyesen szólt.
6 This is Yahweh's ruling for Zelophehad's daughters: "They may marry whom they please, providingthey marry into a clan of their father's tribe.	6 Ezt a törvényt hirdeti ki tehát az Úr Celofhád lányai felől: Férjhez mehetnek, akihez akarnak, de csak a saját törzsükből való emberhez,
7 But the heritages of Israelites are not to be transferred from tribe to tribe; each Israelite wil stick tothe heritage of his own tribe.	7 hogy ne szálljon át Izrael fiainak birtoka az egyik törzsről a másik törzsre. Azért minden férfi a maga törzséből, s a maga rokonságából vegyen feleséget,
8 Any daughter who owns a heritage in an Israelite tribe will marry into a clan of her own paternal tribe,so that the Israelites may each preserve the heritage of his father.	8 s minden nő ugyanabból a törzsből nyerjen férjet, hogy az örökség megmaradjon az egyes családokban,
9 No heritage may be transferred from one tribe to another; each Israelite tribe wil stick to its ownheritage." '	9 s ne keveredjenek össze egymással a törzsek, hanem úgy maradjanak, amint az Úr szétválasztotta őket.«
10 Zelophehad's daughters did as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	10 Úgy is tettek Celofhád lányai, ahogy a parancs szólt,
11 Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, daughters of Zelophehad, married the sons of theirfather's brothers.	11 s Maála, Tirca, Hegla, Melka és Noa atyjuk bátyjának fiaihoz mentek feleségül;

13 Such were the commandments and laws that Yahweh prescribed for the Israelites through Moseson the Plains of Moab near the Jordan by Jericho.n	13 Ezek azok a parancsok és rendeletek, amelyeket az Úr Mózes által Moáb mezőségén, a Jordán mellett, Jerikóval átellenben parancsolt Izrael fiainak.
