Amos 2

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Moab, I have made my decree and will notrelent: because they have burnt the bones of the king of Edom to ash,	1 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Moab, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque queimou os ossos do rei de Edom até reduzi-los a cal,
2 I shal send fire down into Moab to devour the palaces of Kerioth, and Moab will die in the tumult, amidwar cries and the blare of trumpets;	2 porei fogo a Moab, e ele consumirá os palácios de Cariot. No tumulto perecerá Moab, entre gritos de guerra e sons de trombeta.
3 I shal destroy the ruler there and slaughter al the chief men there with him, says Yahweh.	3 Exterminarei o seu juiz e farei perecer com ele todos os chefes, diz o Senhor.
4 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Judah, I have made my decree and wil notrelent: because they have despised Yahweh's law and not kept his commandments, since their Falsehoods,which their ancestors followed, have led them astray,	4 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Judá, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque desprezaram a lei do Senhor e não observaram seus mandamentos, e porque se deixaram transviar por seus falsos deuses, que já seus pais tinham honrado,
5 I shal send fire down on Judah to devour the palaces of Jerusalem.	5 porei fogo a Judá, e ele devorará os palácios de Jerusalém.
6 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Israel, I have made my decree and wil notrelent: because they have sold the upright for silver and the poor for a pair of sandals,	6 Oráculo do Senhor: Por causa do triplo e do quádruplo crime de Israel, não mudarei meu decreto. Porque vendem o justo por dinheiro, e o pobre por um par de sandálias,
7 because they have crushed the heads of the weak into the dust and thrust the rights of the oppressedto one side, father and son sleeping with the same girl and thus profaning my holy name,	7 porque esmagam no pó da terra a cabeça do pobre, e transviam os pequenos, porque o filho e o pai dormem com a mesma jovem, o que é uma profanação do meu santo nome,
8 lying down beside every altar on clothes acquired as pledges, and drinking the wine of the people theyhave fined in the house of their god.	8 porque se estendem ao pé de cada altar sobre vestes recebidas em penhor, e bebem no templo do seu Deus o vinho dos que foram multados.
9 Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, he who was as tal as the cedars, as strong as theoaks; I who destroyed his fruit above ground and his roots below.	9 E, todavia, fui eu que exterminei diante deles os amorreus, cuja estatura se igualava à dos cedros, e que eram fortes como os carvalhos; destruí seus frutos de cima e suas riquezas de baixo;
10 It was I who brought you up from Egypt and for forty years led you through the desert to takepossession of the Amorite's country;	10 fui eu que vos tirei do Egito e vos conduzi, através do deserto, durante quarenta anos, para vos dar a posse da terra dos amorreus;
11 I who raised up prophets from your sons and Nazirites from your young men. Israelites, is this nottrue? -declares Yahweh!	11 suscitei profetas dentre os vossos filhos, e nazarenos dentre os vossos jovens; não é assim, filhos de Israel? - Oráculo do Senhor.
12 But you have made the Nazirite drink wine and given orders to the prophets, 'Do not prophesy.'	12 Mas vós fizestes beber vinho aos nazarenos, e proibistes aos profetas que profetizassem.
13 Very wel ! Like a cart overloaded with sheaves I shall crush you where you stand;	13 Pois bem! Eis que eu vos vou fazer ranger como um carro carregado de feno.
14 flight wil be cut off for the swift, the strong will have no chance to exert his strength nor the warrior beable to save his life;	14 Não haverá mais fuga possível para o homem ágil, o forte não encontrará mais sua força, o valente não salvará sua vida,
15 the archer wil not stand his ground, the swift of foot wil not escape, nor will the horseman save hislife;	15 o arqueiro não poderá resistir, nem o homem de pés ligeiros poderá escapar, nem o cavaleiro salvará sua vida,
16 even the bravest of warriors will jettison his arms and run away, that day! -declares Yahweh!	16 e o mais corajoso entre os valentes fugirá nu, naquele dia - oráculo do Senhor.
