Amos 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Moab, I have made my decree and will notrelent: because they have burnt the bones of the king of Edom to ash,	1 - Così dice il Signore: - Per tre misfatti di Moab e per quattro io più non gliela risparmierò: perchè hanno arso fino alla calcinazione le ossa del re di Edom.
2 I shal send fire down into Moab to devour the palaces of Kerioth, and Moab will die in the tumult, amidwar cries and the blare of trumpets;	2 E metterò il fuoco a Moab e divorerà i palazzi di Cariot; e Moab perirà tra il tumulto e il fragor della tromba.
3 I shal destroy the ruler there and slaughter al the chief men there with him, says Yahweh.	3 E sterminerò dal suo mezzo il giudice, e ucciderò con lui tutti i suoi principi, - dice il Signore.
4 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Judah, I have made my decree and wil notrelent: because they have despised Yahweh's law and not kept his commandments, since their Falsehoods,which their ancestors followed, have led them astray,	4 Così dice il Signore: - Per tre misfatti di Giuda e per quattro io più non gliela risparmierò: perchè hanno rigettata la legge di Dio, e non hanno osservato i suoi comandamenti tratti nell'errore dai loro idoli, dietro ai quali andavano già i loro padri.
5 I shal send fire down on Judah to devour the palaces of Jerusalem.	5 E metterò il fuoco in Giuda e divorerà i palazzi di Gerusalemme, - dice il Signore.
6 Yahweh says this: For the three crimes, the four crimes of Israel, I have made my decree and wil notrelent: because they have sold the upright for silver and the poor for a pair of sandals,	6 Così dice il Signore: - Per tre misfatti d'Israele e per quattro io più non gliela risparmierò: perchè hanno venduto il giusto per il denaro; e il povero per un paio di sandali.
7 because they have crushed the heads of the weak into the dust and thrust the rights of the oppressedto one side, father and son sleeping with the same girl and thus profaning my holy name,	7 Calpestano al suolo nella polvere la testa dei poveri e attraversano la strada ai meschini, e figlio e padre frequentarono la stessa ragazza, a profanazione del mio santo nome.
8 lying down beside every altar on clothes acquired as pledges, and drinking the wine of the people theyhave fined in the house of their god.	8 E sopra vestimenta prese in pegno si sono coricati a fianco d'un altare; e il prezzo delle condanne se lo bevevano in vino nella casa del loro Dio.
9 Yet it was I who destroyed the Amorite before them, he who was as tal as the cedars, as strong as theoaks; I who destroyed his fruit above ground and his roots below.	9 Eppure io ho sterminato dinanzi a loro l'Amorreo che agli alti cedri era simile in altezza, ch'era robusto al pari d'una quercia; io maciullai i suoi frutti al di sopra e le sue radici al di sotto.
10 It was I who brought you up from Egypt and for forty years led you through the desert to takepossession of the Amorite's country;	10 Sono io che vi ho fatto salire dalla terra d'Egitto, e che vi ho condotto quarant'anni pel deserto a prendere possesso della terra dell'Amorreo:
11 I who raised up prophets from your sons and Nazirites from your young men. Israelites, is this nottrue? -declares Yahweh!	11 e che dai vostri figliuoli ho fatto sorgere profeti, e nazarei dai vostri giovani. Non è forse così, o figli d'Israele? dice il Signore.
12 But you have made the Nazirite drink wine and given orders to the prophets, 'Do not prophesy.'	12 Ma voi offrirete vino a bere ai nazarei, e darete ordine ai profeti dicendo: "Non profetate più!".
13 Very wel ! Like a cart overloaded with sheaves I shall crush you where you stand;	13 Ecco, ch'io vi farò stridere come stride un carro carico di fieno.
14 flight wil be cut off for the swift, the strong will have no chance to exert his strength nor the warrior beable to save his life;	14 E al veloce mancherà la forza di fuggire, e il gagliardo non ritroverà il suo vigore, e il valoroso non si salverà la vita;
15 the archer wil not stand his ground, the swift of foot wil not escape, nor will the horseman save hislife;	15 e il tiratore d'arco non resisterà, e l'uomo dai piè leggeri non scamperà, e il montatore di cavalli non avrà salva la vita,
16 even the bravest of warriors will jettison his arms and run away, that day! -declares Yahweh!	16 e il più intrepido di cuore tra i valorosi fuggirà nudo in quel giorno, - dice il Signore.
