Hosea 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 Hear this, you priests, listen, House of Israel, pay attention, royal House, for it is you who have justice inyour care, but you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net outspread on Tabor.	1 Udite questo, o sacerdoti, stai attenta, o casa d'Israele, o casa del re, ascolta, perchè contro di voi è data la sentenza, essendo voi divenuti un laccio nella vedetta e una rete stesa sul Tabor.
2 They have dug the ditch deep at Shittim and so I am going to punish them al .	2 Le vittime le faceste cadere nella fossa profonda, ma io insegno a tutti loro.
3 Ephraim have I known, Israel is not hidden from me; and yet, Ephraim, you have played the whore,Israel is befouled.	3 Io conosco Efraim, e Israele non m'è nascosto, e so che Efraim ora ha fornicato, che Israele è contaminato.
4 Their deeds do not al ow them to return to their God, since an urge to play the whore possesses themand they no longer know Yahweh.	4 Non metteranno il loro pensiero nel tornare al loro Dio, perchè hanno in mezzo a loro lo spirito di fornicazione, e non conoscono il Signore.
5 Israel's arrogance is his accuser, the guilt of Israel and Ephraim is their undoing, Judah too wil beundone with them.	5 E l'arroganza d'Israele testimonierà contro di lui, e Israele e Efraim andranno in rovina per la loro iniquità, e rovinerà con essi anche Giuda.
6 Though they go in search of Yahweh with their sheep and cattle, they wil not find him; he haswithdrawn from them.	6 Coi loro greggi e coi loro armenti andranno a cercare il Signore, e non lo troveranno: se n'è andato da loro.
7 They have betrayed Yahweh because they have fathered bastards; now the new moon wil devourthem and their fields.	7 Han prevaricato contro il Signore, avendo generato dei figli bastardi, ed ora un mese li divorerà coi loro beni.
8 Sound the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah, raise the war cry in Beth-Aven, 'We are behind you,Benjamin!'	8 Sonate il corno a Gabaa, la tromba a Rama, urlate a Betaven, dietro alle tue spalle, o Beniamin.
9 When the day of punishment comes, Ephraim wil be a wasteland; on the tribes of Israel I havepronounced certain doom.	9 Efraim sarà desolato nel giorno del castigo, nelle tribù d'Israele ho mostrato la fedeltà.
10 The rulers of Judah act like men who move the boundary stone; I shall pour my wrath out on them likea flood.	10 I principi di Giuda son diventati come quelli che smuovono i termini, ed io verserò sopra di essi conio acqua il mio sdegno.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed by the sentence, for having deliberately fol owed a Lie.	11 Efraim è oppresso, schiacciato dalla sentenza, perchè ha cominciato ad andare dietro alle lordure;
12 Because of this, I shall be like ringworm for Ephraim and like gangrene for the House of Judah.	12 ed io sarò cometignola per Efraim, e coinè cancrena per la casa di Giuda.
13 Once Ephraim realised that he was sick and Judah that he had an ulcer, Ephraim then went toAssyria, he sent messengers to the Great King; but he has no power to cure you or to heal you of your sore;	13 Ed Efraim vide il suo male, e Giuda la sua catena; ed Efraim ricorse ad Assur, e mandò a chiamare un re vendicatore. Ma nemmen lui potrà guarirvi, e non potrà liberarvi dalla vostra catena;
14 for I shal be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the House of Judah; I myself shal rend them,then go my way, shal carry them off, beyond hope of rescue.	14 perdi è io sarò come leonessa per Efraim, e come leoncello per la casa di Giuda: io prenderò e me ne andrò, porterò via, e non c'è chi possa (a me) ritogliere.
15 I shal go back to my place until they confess their guilt and seek me, seek me eagerly in their distress.	15 Andato via, tornerò alla mia dimora, finché, ridotti all'estremo, non cerchiato la mia faccia.
