Hosea 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Hear this, you priests, listen, House of Israel, pay attention, royal House, for it is you who have justice inyour care, but you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net outspread on Tabor.	1 Escuchad esto, sacerdotes, estad atentos, casa de Israel, casa real, prestad oído, porque el juicio es cosa vuestra; pero vosotros habéis sido un lazo en Mispá, y una red tendida en el Tabor.
2 They have dug the ditch deep at Shittim and so I am going to punish them al .	2 Han ahondado la fosa de Sittim, mas yo seré castigo para todos ellos.
3 Ephraim have I known, Israel is not hidden from me; and yet, Ephraim, you have played the whore,Israel is befouled.	3 Yo conozco a Efraím, e Israel no se me oculta. Sí, tú te has prostituido, Efraím, e Israel se ha contaminado,
4 Their deeds do not al ow them to return to their God, since an urge to play the whore possesses themand they no longer know Yahweh.	4 No les permiten sus obras volver a su Dios, pues un espíritu de prostitución hay dentro de ellos, y no conocen a Yahveh.
5 Israel's arrogance is his accuser, the guilt of Israel and Ephraim is their undoing, Judah too wil beundone with them.	5 El orgullo de Israel testifica contra él; Israel y Efraím tropiezan por sus culpas, y también Judá tropieza con ellos.
6 Though they go in search of Yahweh with their sheep and cattle, they wil not find him; he haswithdrawn from them.	6 Con su ganado menor y mayor irán en busca de Yahveh, pero no lo encontrarán: ¡se ha retirado de ellos!
7 They have betrayed Yahweh because they have fathered bastards; now the new moon wil devourthem and their fields.	7 Han sido infieles a Yahveh, han engrendado hijos bastardos; pues ahora los va a devorar el novilunio juntamente con sus campos.
8 Sound the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah, raise the war cry in Beth-Aven, 'We are behind you,Benjamin!'	8 Tocad el cuerno en Guibeá, la trompeta en Ramá, dad la alarma en Bet Aven, ¡detrás de ti, Benjamín!
9 When the day of punishment comes, Ephraim wil be a wasteland; on the tribes of Israel I havepronounced certain doom.	9 Efraím será una desolación el día del castigo; en las tribus de Israel hago saber cosa segura.
10 The rulers of Judah act like men who move the boundary stone; I shall pour my wrath out on them likea flood.	10 Los príncipes de Judá son como los que desplazan los linderos, sobre ellos voy a derramar como agua mi furor.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed by the sentence, for having deliberately fol owed a Lie.	11 Está oprimido Efraím, quebrantado el juicio, porque se complace en ir tras la Vanidad.
12 Because of this, I shall be like ringworm for Ephraim and like gangrene for the House of Judah.	12 Pues yo he de ser como polilla para Efraím, como carcoma para la casa de Judá.
13 Once Ephraim realised that he was sick and Judah that he had an ulcer, Ephraim then went toAssyria, he sent messengers to the Great King; but he has no power to cure you or to heal you of your sore;	13 Efraím ha visto su dolencia y Judá su llaga. Efraím entonces ha sido a Asiria, y Judá ha mandado mensaje al gran rey; pero éste no podrá sanaros ni curar vuestra llaga.
14 for I shal be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the House of Judah; I myself shal rend them,then go my way, shal carry them off, beyond hope of rescue.	14 Porque yo soy como un león para Efraím, como un leoncillo para la casa de Judá. Yo, yo mismo desgarraré y me iré, arrebataré y no habrá quien salve.
15 I shal go back to my place until they confess their guilt and seek me, seek me eagerly in their distress.	15 Voy a volverme a mi lugar, hasta que hayan expiado y busquen mi rostro. En su angustia me buscarán.
