Hosea 5

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Hear this, you priests, listen, House of Israel, pay attention, royal House, for it is you who have justice inyour care, but you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net outspread on Tabor.	1 ¡Escuchen esto, sacerdotes, presta atención, casa de Israel, atienden, casa del rey, porque el juicio es con ustedes! Sí, ustedes han sido una trampa en Mispá y una red tendida sobre el Tabor.
2 They have dug the ditch deep at Shittim and so I am going to punish them al .	2 Ellos ahondaron la fosa de Sitím y yo los voy a corregir a todos.
3 Ephraim have I known, Israel is not hidden from me; and yet, Ephraim, you have played the whore,Israel is befouled.	3 Yo conozco a Efraím y no se me oculta Israel: porque tú, Efraím, has inducido a la prostitución, Israel se ha vuelto impuro.
4 Their deeds do not al ow them to return to their God, since an urge to play the whore possesses themand they no longer know Yahweh.	4 Sus acciones no los dejan volver a su Dios, porque hay en medio de ellos un espíritu de prostitución y no conocen al Señor.
5 Israel's arrogance is his accuser, the guilt of Israel and Ephraim is their undoing, Judah too wil beundone with them.	5 La arrogancia de Jacob atestigua contra él; Israel y Efraím tropiezan por su propia culpa y junto con ellos, también tropieza Judá.
6 Though they go in search of Yahweh with their sheep and cattle, they wil not find him; he haswithdrawn from them.	6 Con sus rebaños y su ganado irán en busca del Señor, pero no lo encontrarán: él se ha librado de ellos.
7 They have betrayed Yahweh because they have fathered bastards; now the new moon wil devourthem and their fields.	7 Han traicionado al Señor, porque engendraron bastardos: ahora la luna nueva los va a devorar, a ellos junto con sus campos.
8 Sound the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah, raise the war cry in Beth-Aven, 'We are behind you,Benjamin!'	8 ¡Hagan sonar el cuerno en Guibeá y la trompeta en Ramá! ¡Den la alarma en Bet Aven! ¡Alerta, Benjamín!
9 When the day of punishment comes, Ephraim wil be a wasteland; on the tribes of Israel I havepronounced certain doom.	9 Efraím será una desolación en el día del castigo; entre las tribus de Israel, yo hago saber una cosa cierta.
10 The rulers of Judah act like men who move the boundary stone; I shall pour my wrath out on them likea flood.	10 Los jefes de Judá han sido como los que desplazan los límites: sobre ellos derramaré mi furor a raudales.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed by the sentence, for having deliberately fol owed a Lie.	11 Efraím está oprimido, se ha conculcado el derecho, porque él había resuelto ir detrás de la inmundicia.
12 Because of this, I shall be like ringworm for Ephraim and like gangrene for the House of Judah.	12 Yo seré como polilla para Efraím y como caries para la casa de Judá.
13 Once Ephraim realised that he was sick and Judah that he had an ulcer, Ephraim then went toAssyria, he sent messengers to the Great King; but he has no power to cure you or to heal you of your sore;	13 Cuando Efraím vio su enfermedad y Judá su llaga, Efraím acudió a Asiria y Judá envió mensajeros al gran rey. Pero él no puede sanarlos ni curarlos de la llaga.
14 for I shal be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the House of Judah; I myself shal rend them,then go my way, shal carry them off, beyond hope of rescue.	14 Porque yo soy como un león para Efraím y como un cachorro de león para la casa de Judá. Yo, yo mismo desgarraré y me iré, me llevaré la presa y nadie me la arrancará.
15 I shal go back to my place until they confess their guilt and seek me, seek me eagerly in their distress.	15 Yo me iré, regresaré a mi lugar, hasta que ellos se reconozcan culpables y busquen mi rostro: en su angustia, me buscarán ardientemente.
