Daniel 8

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 In the third year of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, Daniel, after the one that had original yappeared to me.	1 Baltazár király uralkodásának harmadik esztendejében látomásom volt. Én, Dániel, az után, amit először láttam,
2 I gazed at the vision, and as I gazed I found myself in Susa, the citadel in the province of Elam; gazingat the vision, I found myself at the Ulai Gate.	2 azt láttam látomásomban, hogy Szúza várában, Élám tartományában vagyok, s azt láttam a látomásban, hogy az Uláj folyónál vagyok.
3 I raised my eyes to look, and I saw a ram standing in front of the gate. It had two horns; both were tal ,but one tal er than the other, and the one that rose the higher was the second.	3 Amint felemeltem szememet, láttam, hogy íme, egy kos áll a víz előtt. Két nagy szarva volt, de az egyik nagyobb volt, mint a másik, és később még növekedett.
4 I saw the ram butting westwards, northwards and southwards. No animal could stand up to it, nothingcould escape its power. It did as it pleased and became strong.	4 Láttam, hogy a kos nyugat, észak és dél felé öklelt szarvaival, és semmiféle vadállat nem tudott ellenállni neki és hatalmától megszabadulni; azt tett, amit akart, és naggyá lett.
5 This is what I observed: a he-goat from the west, encroaching over the entire surface of the worldthough never touching the ground, and between its eyes the goat had one majestic horn.	5 Amíg erre figyeltem, íme, egy kecskebak rontott nyugat felől az egész föld színére, anélkül, hogy a földet érintette volna. A bak hatalmas szarvat viselt a szemei között,
6 It advanced on the two-horned ram, which I had seen standing in front of the gate, and charged at it inthe full force of its fury.	6 és eljutott egészen addig a kétszarvú kosig, amelyet a kapu előtt láttam állni, és dühödt erővel feléje rohant.
7 I saw it reach the ram; it was enraged with the ram and struck it, breaking both its horns, so that theram was not strong enough to hold its ground; it threw it to the ground and trampled it underfoot; no one wasthere to rescue the ram.	7 Mikor aztán a kos közelébe jutott, dühösen nekirontott a kosnak, és letörte két szarvát, s a kos nem tudott ellenállni neki. Aztán földre terítette és összetaposta, és senki sem tudta a kost a hatalmából megszabadítani.
8 The he-goat then grew more powerful than ever; but at the height of its strength the great hornsnapped, and in its place sprouted four majestic horns, pointing to the four winds of heaven.	8 A kecskebak ezután igen naggyá lett, de éppen, amikor a legnagyobb volt, a nagy szarva letörött, és a helyében négy szarv nőtt ki az ég négy tája felé.
9 From one of these, the smal one, sprang a horn which grew to great size towards south and east andtowards the Land of Splendour.	9 Az egyikből aztán egy kis szarv nőtt ki, és igen nagyra nőtt dél, kelet és a dicső ország felé,
10 It grew right up to the armies of heaven and flung armies and stars to the ground, and trampled themunderfoot.	10 sőt felnőtt az ég seregéig. Néhányat a seregből és a csillagokból levetett a földre és összetaposta őket.
11 It even challenged the power of the Prince of the army; it abolished the perpetual sacrifice andoverthrew the foundation of his sanctuary,	11 Majd felnőtt egészen a sereg Fejedelméig, elvette tőle az örökkön égő áldozatot, és megalázta szent helyét.
12 and the army too; over the sacrifice it installed iniquity and flung truth to the ground; the horn wasactive and successful.	12 Mert a bűnök miatt hatalom adatott neki a szüntelen való áldozat ellen, földre terítette az igazságot, és tetteivel sikert aratott.
13 I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one say to the speaker, 'How long is this vision to be --of perpetual sacrifice, of horrifying iniquity, of sanctuary and army trampled underfoot?'	13 Akkor hallottam, hogy az egyik szent beszél, és egy másik szent így szólt annak, aki beszélt és akit én nem ismertem: »Mennyi időre szól ez a látomás az örökkön égő áldozatról, s a pusztítás bűnének elkövetéséről, a szentély és a sereg megtiprásáról?«
14 The first replied, 'Until two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings have gone by: then thesanctuary wil have its rights restored.'	14 Az mondta neki: »Kétezer-háromszáz napra, estére, reggelre; aztán tisztává lesz a szentély.«
15 As I, Daniel, gazed at the vision and tried to understand it, I saw someone standing in front of me wholooked like a man.	15 Történt pedig, hogy amikor én, Dániel, ezt a látomást láttam és az értelmét kerestem, íme, elém állt egy férfihoz hasonló alak.
16 I heard a human voice cry over the Ulai, 'Gabriel, tell him the meaning of the vision!'	16 Az Uláj felől emberi szót hallottam, mely kiáltott és szólt: »Gábriel, magyarázd meg neki a látomást!«
17 He approached the place where I was standing; as he approached, I was seized with terror and fellprostrate on the ground. 'Son of man,' he said to me, 'understand this: the vision shows the time of the End.'	17 Erre ő odajött és megállt ott, ahol én álltam; amikor odajött, remegve arcra borultam, s ő azt mondta nekem: »Értsd meg, emberfia, hogy az utolsó időkben megy teljesedésbe ez a látomás.«
18 He was stil speaking, when I fainted, face downwards on the ground. He touched me, however, andraised me to my feet.	18 Amikor hozzám szólt, arcra estem a földön, de ő megérintett, a lábamra állított,
19 'Come,' he said, 'I shall tel you what is going to happen when the Retribution is over, about the finaltimes.	19 és azt mondta nekem: »Megmutatom neked, mi történik majd az átok idejének végén; mert vége lesz az időnek.
20 As for the ram which you saw, its two horns are the kings of Media and of Persia.	20 Az a kétszarvú kos, amelyet láttál, a médek és a perzsák királya,
21 The hairy he-goat is the king of Greece, the large horn between its eyes is the first king.	21 a kecskebak pedig a görögök királya, és a nagy szarv, amely a szemei között volt, az első király.
22 The horn which snapped and the four horns which sprouted in its place are four kingdoms rising fromhis nation but not having his strength.	22 Az pedig, hogy letört és négy támadt a helyében: a népéből négy király fog támadni, de az ő ereje nélkül.
23 'And at the end of their reign, when the measure of their sins is ful , a king wil arise, a proud-faced,ingenious-minded man.	23 Az ő uralmuk után, amikor megnő a gonoszság, egy arcátlan, cselszövő király támad.
24 His power will grow greater and greater, though not through any power of his own; he wil plotincredible schemes, he wil succeed in whatever he undertakes, he wil destroy powerful men and the holy ones,God's people.	24 A hatalma megerősödik, de nem a maga erejéből, és hihetetlen mértékben pusztít majd mindent, és sikert is arat tetteivel. Megöli majd a hatalmasokat és a szentek népét
25 Such wil be his resourcefulness of mind that all his treacherous activities wil succeed. He wil growarrogant of heart and destroy many people by taking them unawares. He wil chal enge the power of the Princeof princes but, without any human intervention, he will be broken.	25 kénye-kedve szerint. Sikeres lesz a cselszövés a kezében, és szívét nagy dolgokra irányítja; mindenben bővelkedve igen sokakat megöl, sőt a fejedelmek Fejedelme ellen is támad; de elpusztul anélkül, hogy emberi kéz illetné.
26 The vision of the evenings and the mornings which has been revealed is true, but you must keep thevision secret, for there are stil many days to go.'	26 A látomás, ami az estékről és a reggelekről szólt, igaz; te azonban pecsételd le a látomást, mert csak sok nap múlva következik be.«
27 At this I, Daniel, lost consciousness; I was il for several days. Then I got up to discharge my duties inthe king's service, keeping the vision a secret and still not understanding what it meant.	27 Erre én, Dániel, elájultam és napokon keresztül beteg voltam; mikor aztán felkeltem, intéztem a király ügyeit, és álmélkodtam a látomáson, de nem volt senki sem, aki megmagyarázza.
