Ezekiel 7

NEW JERUSALEM	VULGATA
1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	1 Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens :
2 'Son of man, say, "Lord Yahweh says this to the land of Israel: Finished! The end is coming for the fourcorners of the country.	2 Et tu, fili hominis, hæc dicit Dominus Deus terræ Israël : Finis venit : venit finis super quatuor plagas terræ.
3 This is the end for you; I shall unleash my anger on you, and judge you as your conduct deserves andcal you to account for al your loathsome practices.	3 Nunc finis super te, et immittam furorem meum in te : et judicabo te juxta vias tuas, et ponam contra te omnes abominationes tuas.
4 I shall show you no pity, I shall not spare you; I shall repay you for your conduct and for the loathsomepractices in which you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh.	4 Et non parcet oculus meus super te, et non miserebor : sed vias tuas ponam super te, et abominationes tuæ in medio tui erunt, et scietis quia ego Dominus.
5 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster, a unique disaster, is coming.	5 Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Afflictio una, afflictio ecce venit.
6 The end is coming, the end is coming, it is on the move towards you, it is coming now.	6 Finis venit, venit finis : evigilavit adversum te, ecce venit.
7 Now it is your turn, you who dwel in this country. Doom is coming, the day is near; no joy now, onlytumult, on the mountains.	7 Venit contritio super te, qui habitas in terra : venit tempus, prope est dies occisionis, et non gloriæ montium.
8 Now I shal soon vent my fury on you and sate my anger on you: I shal judge you as your conductdeserves and repay you for al your loathsome practices.	8 Nunc de propinquo effundam iram meam super te, et complebo furorem meum in te : et judicabo te juxta vias tuas, et imponam tibi omnia scelera tua,
9 I shall show neither pity nor mercy, but shall repay you for your conduct and the loathsome practices inwhich you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh and that I strike.	9 et non parcet oculus meus, nec miserebor : sed vias tuas imponam tibi, et abominationes tuæ in medio tui erunt, et scietis quia ego sum Dominus percutiens.
10 "Now is the day, your turn has come, it has come, it appears, the sceptre has blossomed, pride is at itspeak.	10 Ecce dies, ecce venit : egressa est contritio, floruit virga, germinavit superbia,
11 Violence has risen to become the scourge of wickedness . . .	11 iniquitas surrexit in virga impietatis : non ex eis, et non ex populo, neque ex sonitu eorum : et non erit requies in eis.
12 Doom is coming, the day is near. Neither should buyer rejoice, nor sel er regret, for the fury rests oneveryone alike.	12 Venit tempus, appropinquavit dies : qui emit, non lætetur, et qui vendit, non lugeat : quia ira super omnem populum ejus.
13 The sel er wil not be able to go back on his bargain; each persists in his sins; they take no defensivemeasures.	13 Quia qui vendit, ad id quod vendidit non revertetur : et adhuc in viventibus vita eorum : visio enim ad omnem multitudinem ejus non regredietur, et vir in iniquitate vitæ suæ non confortabitur.
14 The trumpet sounds, all is ready, but no one goes into battle, since my fury rests on all alike.	14 Canite tuba, præparentur omnes : et non est qui vadat ad prælium : ira enim mea super universum populum ejus.
15 "Outside, the sword; inside, plague and famine. Whoever is living in the countryside wil die by thesword; whoever is living in the city will be devoured by famine and plague.	15 Gladium foris, et pestis et fames intrinsecus : qui in agro est, gladio morietur, et qui in civitate, pestilentia et fame devorabuntur.
16 And those who escape wil escape to the mountains and there, like doves of the valleys, I shalslaughter them al , each one for his sin.	16 Et salvabuntur qui fugerint ex eis : et erunt in montibus quasi columbæ convallium omnes trepidi, unusquisque in iniquitate sua.
17 Every hand wil grow limp, every knee turn to water.	17 Omnes manus dissolventur, et omnia genua fluent aquis.
18 They wil put on sackcloth, each one trembling. Every face wil be ashamed and every head beshaved.	18 Et accingent se ciliciis, et operiet eos formido : et in omni facie confusio, et in universis capitibus eorum calvitium.
19 They wil throw their silver away in the streets and their gold they wil regard as a pollution; neithertheir silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of Yahweh's fury. Never again wil they haveenough to eat, never again wil they fil their bellies, since that was the occasion for their guilt.	19 Argentum eorum foras projicietur, et aurum eorum in sterquilinium erit : argentum eorum et aurum eorum non valebit liberare eos in die furoris Domini : animam suam non saturabunt, et ventres eorum non implebuntur, quia scandalum iniquitatis eorum factum est.
20 They used to pride themselves on the beauty of their jewel ery, out of which they made theirloathsome images, their horrors; so now I have made it pol ute them.	20 Et ornamentum monilium suorum in superbiam posuerunt, et imagines abominationum suarum et simulacrorum fecerunt ex eo : propter hoc dedi eis illud in immunditiam.
21 I shal hand it over as plunder to foreigners, as loot to the most evil people on earth. They wil profaneit.	21 Et dabo illud in manus alienorum ad diripiendum, et impiis terræ in prædam, et contaminabunt illud.
22 I shal turn my face away from them, while my treasure-house is profaned and robbers wil force theirway in and profane it.	22 Et avertam faciem meam ab eis, et violabunt arcanum meum : et introibunt in illud emissarii, et contaminabunt illud.
23 "Forge yourself a chain; for the country is full of bloody executions and the city ful of deeds ofviolence,	23 Fac conclusionem, quoniam terra plena est judicio sanguinum, et civitas plena iniquitate.
24 so I shall bring the cruel est of the nations to seize their houses. I shal put an end to the pride of theire'lite, and their sanctuary wil be profaned.	24 Et adducam pessimos de gentibus, et possidebunt domos eorum : et quiescere faciam superbiam potentium, et possidebunt sanctuaria eorum.
25 Terror is on the way: they will look for peace and there wil be none.	25 Angustia superveniente, requirent pacem, et non erit.
26 Disaster will fol ow on disaster, rumour on rumour; they will pester the prophet for a vision; the priestwil be at a loss over the law and the elders on how to advise.	26 Conturbatio super conturbationem veniet, et auditus super auditum : et quærent visionem de propheta, et lex peribit a sacerdote, et consilium a senioribus.
27 The king wil go into mourning, the prince be plunged in grief, the hands of the country people tremble.I shal treat them as their conduct deserves, and judge them as their own verdicts merit. Then they wil know thatI am Yahweh!" '	27 Rex lugebit, et princeps induetur mœrore, et manus populi terræ conturbabuntur : secundum viam eorum faciam eis, et secundum judicia eorum judicabo eos, et scient quia ego Dominus.
