1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	1 Ekkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 'Son of man, say, "Lord Yahweh says this to the land of Israel: Finished! The end is coming for the fourcorners of the country.	2 »Most pedig, emberfia, így szól az Úr Isten Izrael földjéhez: Eljött a vég, a vég eljött az ország négy tájára!
3 This is the end for you; I shall unleash my anger on you, and judge you as your conduct deserves andcal you to account for al your loathsome practices.	3 Már rajtad van a vég, rád bocsátom haragomat; megítéllek útjaid szerint, és rád helyezem minden utálatosságodat!
4 I shall show you no pity, I shall not spare you; I shall repay you for your conduct and for the loathsomepractices in which you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh.	4 Szemem nem könyörül meg rajtad és nem irgalmazok, hanem útjaid terhét rád rakom és utálatosságaid benned lesznek, és megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr.
5 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster, a unique disaster, is coming.	5 Így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, csapás csapást ér!
6 The end is coming, the end is coming, it is on the move towards you, it is coming now.	6 Eljött a vég; a vég eljött; rád virradt, íme, eljött!
7 Now it is your turn, you who dwel in this country. Doom is coming, the day is near; no joy now, onlytumult, on the mountains.	7 Eljött rád a pusztulás, te ország lakója; eljött az idő, közel van a napja az öldöklésnek, és nem a hegyek dicsőségének!
8 Now I shal soon vent my fury on you and sate my anger on you: I shal judge you as your conductdeserves and repay you for al your loathsome practices.	8 Most közelről öntöm ki rád haragomat és kitöltöm rajtad bosszúmat; megítéllek útjaid szerint és rád rakom minden gonoszságodat.
9 I shall show neither pity nor mercy, but shall repay you for your conduct and the loathsome practices inwhich you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh and that I strike.	9 Szemem nem könyörül meg és nem irgalmazok, hanem rád rakom útjaid terhét, és utálatosságaid benned lesznek, és megtudjátok, hogy én, az Úr büntetek!
10 "Now is the day, your turn has come, it has come, it appears, the sceptre has blossomed, pride is at itspeak.	10 Íme, a nap, íme, eljött, kikelt a pusztulás, kivirágzott a vessző, kisarjadt a kevélység;
11 Violence has risen to become the scourge of wickedness . . .	11 kinőtt a gonoszság az istentelenség vesszejévé! Semmi sem marad meg belőlük, sem a népből, sem örömkiáltásukból, és semmi nyugalmuk nem lesz.
12 Doom is coming, the day is near. Neither should buyer rejoice, nor sel er regret, for the fury rests oneveryone alike.	12 Eljött az idő, közel van a nap! Aki vesz, ne örvendjen, s aki elad, ne szomorkodjék, mert harag nehezedik egész népére.
13 The sel er wil not be able to go back on his bargain; each persists in his sins; they take no defensivemeasures.	13 Mert aki elad, nem szerzi vissza azt, amit eladott, még ha meg is marad életük az élők között; mert nem tér vissza a látomás, amely egész sokasága ellen szól, és élte gonoszságától senki erőre nem kap.
14 The trumpet sounds, all is ready, but no one goes into battle, since my fury rests on all alike.	14 Fújjátok meg a harsonát, készüljenek fel mindnyájan! – De senki sincs, aki harcba szállna, mert egész népére az én haragom nehezedik.
15 "Outside, the sword; inside, plague and famine. Whoever is living in the countryside wil die by thesword; whoever is living in the city will be devoured by famine and plague.	15 Kívül kard, belül döghalál és éhínség! Aki a mezőn van, kard által hull el, s akik a városban vannak, döghalállal és éhínséggel vesznek el.
16 And those who escape wil escape to the mountains and there, like doves of the valleys, I shalslaughter them al , each one for his sin.	16 Csak azok menekülnek meg közülük, akik elfutnak; a hegyek között lesznek, mint a völgyek galambjai, mindnyájan remegni fognak, mindenki a saját gonoszsága miatt.
17 Every hand wil grow limp, every knee turn to water.	17 Minden kéz ellankad, és minden térd vízben ázik.
18 They wil put on sackcloth, each one trembling. Every face wil be ashamed and every head beshaved.	18 Szőrruhába öltöznek, és elborítja őket a félelem; minden arcon szégyen ég, és mindegyikük feje kopasz lesz.
19 They wil throw their silver away in the streets and their gold they wil regard as a pollution; neithertheir silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of Yahweh's fury. Never again wil they haveenough to eat, never again wil they fil their bellies, since that was the occasion for their guilt.	19 Ezüstjüket kidobják és aranyuk sárrá lesz; ezüstjük és aranyuk nem szabadíthatja meg őket az Úr haragjának napján. Nem laknak jól vele, és gyomruk nem telik meg, mert az gonoszságra vezette őket.
20 They used to pride themselves on the beauty of their jewel ery, out of which they made theirloathsome images, their horrors; so now I have made it pol ute them.	20 Díszes ékszereiket kevélységre használták, és belőle utálatos képeket meg bálványszobrokat készítettek maguknak; ezért tisztátalansággá tettem azt számukra;
21 I shal hand it over as plunder to foreigners, as loot to the most evil people on earth. They wil profaneit.	21 idegenek kezébe adom fosztogatásra, a föld gonoszainak prédára, hogy megszentségtelenítsék.
22 I shal turn my face away from them, while my treasure-house is profaned and robbers wil force theirway in and profane it.	22 Elfordítom róluk arcomat, s azok megszentségtelenítik titkomat; fosztogatók hatolnak be oda s megszentségtelenítik azt.
23 "Forge yourself a chain; for the country is full of bloody executions and the city ful of deeds ofviolence,	23 Készíts láncot! Mert a föld tele van vértörvénnyel, s a város tele van gonoszsággal.
24 so I shall bring the cruel est of the nations to seize their houses. I shal put an end to the pride of theire'lite, and their sanctuary wil be profaned.	24 Elővezetem a nemzetek leggonoszabbjait, s azok birtokukba veszik házaikat; véget vetek a hatalmasok kevélységének, és azok birtokukba veszik szentélyeiket.
25 Terror is on the way: they will look for peace and there wil be none.	25 Ha rájuk jön a szorongatás, keresik majd a békét, de nem lesz!
26 Disaster will fol ow on disaster, rumour on rumour; they will pester the prophet for a vision; the priestwil be at a loss over the law and the elders on how to advise.	26 Pusztulás pusztulást követ, az egyik hír a másikat éri; látomást követelnek a prófétától, de törvény nem lesz a papnál és tanács a véneknél.
27 The king wil go into mourning, the prince be plunged in grief, the hands of the country people tremble.I shal treat them as their conduct deserves, and judge them as their own verdicts merit. Then they wil know thatI am Yahweh!" '	27 Gyászol a király, szomorúságba öltözik a fejedelem, s a föld népének keze megremeg. Útjaik szerint cselekszem majd velük és ítéleteik szerint ítélem meg őket; és megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr!«
