Ezekiel 7

1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	1 Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
2 'Son of man, say, "Lord Yahweh says this to the land of Israel: Finished! The end is coming for the fourcorners of the country.	2 «Ora, figlio dell’uomo, riferisci: Così dice il Signore Dio alla terra d’Israele. Ecco la fine: essa giunge sino ai quattro estremi della terra.
3 This is the end for you; I shall unleash my anger on you, and judge you as your conduct deserves andcal you to account for al your loathsome practices.	3 Ora che su di te pende la fine, io scaglio contro di te la mia ira, per giudicarti secondo le tue opere e per domandarti conto di tutti i tuoi abomini.
4 I shall show you no pity, I shall not spare you; I shall repay you for your conduct and for the loathsomepractices in which you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh.	4 Non avrà pietà di te il mio occhio e non avrò compassione, ma ti riterrò responsabile della tua condotta e diverranno palesi in mezzo a te i tuoi abomini; saprete allora che io sono il Signore.
5 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster, a unique disaster, is coming.	5 Così dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, arriva sventura su sventura.
6 The end is coming, the end is coming, it is on the move towards you, it is coming now.	6 Viene la fine, viene su di te: ecco, viene!
7 Now it is your turn, you who dwel in this country. Doom is coming, the day is near; no joy now, onlytumult, on the mountains.	7 Viene il tuo turno, o abitante della terra: arriva il tempo, è prossimo il giorno terribile e non di tripudio sui monti.
8 Now I shal soon vent my fury on you and sate my anger on you: I shal judge you as your conductdeserves and repay you for al your loathsome practices.	8 Ora, fra breve, rovescerò il mio furore su di te, e su di te darò sfogo alla mia ira, per giudicarti secondo le tue opere e per domandarti conto di tutti i tuoi abomini.
9 I shall show neither pity nor mercy, but shall repay you for your conduct and the loathsome practices inwhich you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh and that I strike.	9 Non avrà pietà di te il mio occhio e non avrò compassione, ma ti riterrò responsabile della tua condotta e diverranno palesi in mezzo a te i tuoi abomini: saprete allora che sono io, il Signore, colui che colpisce.
10 "Now is the day, your turn has come, it has come, it appears, the sceptre has blossomed, pride is at itspeak.	10 Ecco il giorno, eccolo: arriva. È giunto il tuo turno. L’ingiustizia fiorisce, germoglia l’orgoglio
11 Violence has risen to become the scourge of wickedness . . .	11 e regna la violenza, scettro della malvagità.
12 Doom is coming, the day is near. Neither should buyer rejoice, nor sel er regret, for the fury rests oneveryone alike.	12 È giunto il tempo, è vicino il giorno: chi ha comprato non si allieti, chi ha venduto non rimpianga, perché l’ira pende su tutti!
13 The sel er wil not be able to go back on his bargain; each persists in his sins; they take no defensivemeasures.	13 Chi ha venduto non tornerà in possesso di ciò che ha venduto, anche se rimarrà in vita, perché la condanna contro il loro fasto non sarà revocata e nessuno, per la sua perversità, potrà salvare la sua esistenza.
14 The trumpet sounds, all is ready, but no one goes into battle, since my fury rests on all alike.	14 Si suona il corno e tutto è pronto; ma nessuno muove a battaglia, perché il mio furore è contro tutta quella moltitudine.
15 "Outside, the sword; inside, plague and famine. Whoever is living in the countryside wil die by thesword; whoever is living in the city will be devoured by famine and plague.	15 La spada all’esterno, la peste e la fame di dentro: chi è in campagna perirà di spada, chi è in città sarà divorato dalla fame e dalla peste.
16 And those who escape wil escape to the mountains and there, like doves of the valleys, I shalslaughter them al , each one for his sin.	16 Chi di loro potrà fuggire e salvarsi sui monti, gemerà come le colombe delle valli, ognuno per la sua iniquità.
17 Every hand wil grow limp, every knee turn to water.	17 Tutte le mani si indeboliranno e tutte le ginocchia si scioglieranno come acqua.
18 They wil put on sackcloth, each one trembling. Every face wil be ashamed and every head beshaved.	18 Vestiranno il sacco e lo spavento li avvolgerà. Su tutti i volti sarà la vergogna e tutte le teste saranno rasate.
19 They wil throw their silver away in the streets and their gold they wil regard as a pollution; neithertheir silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of Yahweh's fury. Never again wil they haveenough to eat, never again wil they fil their bellies, since that was the occasion for their guilt.	19 Getteranno l’argento per le strade e il loro oro si cambierà in immondizia, con esso non si sfameranno, non si riempiranno il ventre, perché è stato per loro causa di peccato.
20 They used to pride themselves on the beauty of their jewel ery, out of which they made theirloathsome images, their horrors; so now I have made it pol ute them.	20 Della bellezza dei loro gioielli fecero oggetto d’orgoglio e fabbricarono con essi le abominevoli statue dei loro idoli. Per questo li tratterò come immondizia,
21 I shal hand it over as plunder to foreigners, as loot to the most evil people on earth. They wil profaneit.	21 li darò in preda agli stranieri e saranno bottino per i malvagi della terra che li profaneranno.
22 I shal turn my face away from them, while my treasure-house is profaned and robbers wil force theirway in and profane it.	22 Distoglierò da loro la mia faccia, sarà profanato il mio tesoro, vi entreranno i ladri e lo profaneranno.
23 "Forge yourself a chain; for the country is full of bloody executions and the city ful of deeds ofviolence,	23 Prepàrati una catena, poiché il paese è pieno di assassini e la città è colma di violenza.
24 so I shall bring the cruel est of the nations to seize their houses. I shal put an end to the pride of theire'lite, and their sanctuary wil be profaned.	24 Io manderò i popoli più feroci e s’impadroniranno delle loro case, abbatterò la superbia dei potenti, i santuari saranno profanati.
25 Terror is on the way: they will look for peace and there wil be none.	25 Giungerà l’angoscia e cercheranno pace, ma pace non vi sarà.
26 Disaster will fol ow on disaster, rumour on rumour; they will pester the prophet for a vision; the priestwil be at a loss over the law and the elders on how to advise.	26 Sventura seguirà a sventura, allarme succederà ad allarme: ai profeti chiederanno responsi, ai sacerdoti verrà meno la legge, agli anziani il consiglio.
27 The king wil go into mourning, the prince be plunged in grief, the hands of the country people tremble.I shal treat them as their conduct deserves, and judge them as their own verdicts merit. Then they wil know thatI am Yahweh!" '	27 Il re sarà in lutto, il principe sarà ammantato di desolazione. Tremeranno le mani della popolazione del paese. Li tratterò secondo la loro condotta, li giudicherò secondo i loro giudizi: così sapranno che io sono il Signore».
