Ezekiel 7

1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	1 E la parola del Signore mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
2 'Son of man, say, "Lord Yahweh says this to the land of Israel: Finished! The end is coming for the fourcorners of the country.	2 « Eccoti, o figlio dell'uomo, quanto dice il Signore Dio alla terra d'Israele: La fine viene, viene la fine sopra le quattro parti della terra.
3 This is the end for you; I shall unleash my anger on you, and judge you as your conduct deserves andcal you to account for al your loathsome practices.	3 Ed ora la fine vien per te: io sfogherò contro di te il mio furore, ti giudicherò secondo le tue opere, e farò ricadere sopra di te tutte le abominazioni.
4 I shall show you no pity, I shall not spare you; I shall repay you for your conduct and for the loathsomepractices in which you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh.	4 E il mio occhio non ti risparmierà: sarò senza pietà, per far ricadere sopra di te le tue opere; staranno in mezzo a te le tue abominazioni, e voi saprete che io sono il Signore.
5 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster, a unique disaster, is coming.	5 Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: la sventura unica, la sventura ecco viene.
6 The end is coming, the end is coming, it is on the move towards you, it is coming now.	6 La fine viene, viene la fine, si sveglia contro di te, ecco viene.
7 Now it is your turn, you who dwel in this country. Doom is coming, the day is near; no joy now, onlytumult, on the mountains.	7 Viene sopra di te lo sterminio, o abitatore della terra: il tempo viene, è vicino il giorno della strage e non della gloria dei monti.
8 Now I shal soon vent my fury on you and sate my anger on you: I shal judge you as your conductdeserves and repay you for al your loathsome practices.	8 Or da vicino verserò sopra di te il mio sdegno, sfogherò completamente sopra di te il mio furore, ti giudicherò secondo le tue opere, e farò ricadere sopra di te tutte le tue sceleratezze.
9 I shall show neither pity nor mercy, but shall repay you for your conduct and the loathsome practices inwhich you persist. Then you wil know that I am Yahweh and that I strike.	9 E il mio occhio non risparmierà, sarò senza pietà, per far ricadere sopra di te le tue opere: staranno in mezzo a te le tue abominazioni, e voi saprete che io sono il Signore che colpisce.
10 "Now is the day, your turn has come, it has come, it appears, the sceptre has blossomed, pride is at itspeak.	10 Ecco il giorno, ecco viene: lo sterminio è uscito, la verga ha fiorito, l'orgoglio ha germogliato.
11 Violence has risen to become the scourge of wickedness . . .	11 L'iniquità s'è alzata in verga d'empietà. (Non resterà niente) di essi, del popolo, del loro tumulto, ed essi non avran più requie.
12 Doom is coming, the day is near. Neither should buyer rejoice, nor sel er regret, for the fury rests oneveryone alike.	12 Il tempo viene, il giorno s'avvicina: chi compra non si rallegri, chi vende non pianga, perchè l'ira sta sopra tutto il suo popolo;
13 The sel er wil not be able to go back on his bargain; each persists in his sins; they take no defensivemeasures.	13 perchè chi vende non tornerà a possedere ciò che ha venduto, sebbene resti ancora tra i vivi: infatti la visione contro tutto il suo popolo non sarà revocata, e nessuno coll'iniquità assicurerà la sua vita.
14 The trumpet sounds, all is ready, but no one goes into battle, since my fury rests on all alike.	14 Sonate la tromba: tutti sian pronti; ma nessuno va a combattere, perchè la mia ira sta sopra tutto il suo popolo.
15 "Outside, the sword; inside, plague and famine. Whoever is living in the countryside wil die by thesword; whoever is living in the city will be devoured by famine and plague.	15 Di fuori la spada, dentro la peste e la fame: chi è in campagna morrà di spada, quelli che sono in città saran divorati dalla peste e dalla fame.
16 And those who escape wil escape to the mountains and there, like doves of the valleys, I shalslaughter them al , each one for his sin.	16 E di loro si salverà chi fuggirà; ma andranno pei monti come colombe delle convalli, tutti tremanti, ciascuno pel suo peccato.
17 Every hand wil grow limp, every knee turn to water.	17 Tutte le mani resteranno impotenti, tutti i ginocchi si struggeranno in acqua;
18 They wil put on sackcloth, each one trembling. Every face wil be ashamed and every head beshaved.	18 essi si vestiran di cilizi e saran coperti dallo spavento; la confusione sarà in tutte le facce, e tutte le teste saran calve.
19 They wil throw their silver away in the streets and their gold they wil regard as a pollution; neithertheir silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of Yahweh's fury. Never again wil they haveenough to eat, never again wil they fil their bellies, since that was the occasion for their guilt.	19 Il loro argento sarà gettato per le strade, il loro oro tra le immondezze: nè il loro argento nè il loro oro li potrà liberare nel giorno dello sdegno del Signore; essi non potran saziare la loro anima, nè riempire il loro ventre, perchè son divenuti pietra d'inciampo nella loro iniquità.
20 They used to pride themselves on the beauty of their jewel ery, out of which they made theirloathsome images, their horrors; so now I have made it pol ute them.	20 Coi gioielli di cui s'adornavano e che erano il loro orgoglio, fecero gli idoli delle loro abominazioni, i simulacri; per questo li farò diventare per essi immondezza,
21 I shal hand it over as plunder to foreigners, as loot to the most evil people on earth. They wil profaneit.	21 e li darò col saccheggio in mano di stranieri, in preda agli empi della terra, e li profaneranno,
22 I shal turn my face away from them, while my treasure-house is profaned and robbers wil force theirway in and profane it.	22 e volgerò da loro la mia faccia, ed essi violeranno il mio arcano, e vi entreranno i ladroni e lo contamineranno.
23 "Forge yourself a chain; for the country is full of bloody executions and the city ful of deeds ofviolence,	23 Prepara le catene, perchè la terra è piena di condanne di sangue e la città è piena d'iniquità,
24 so I shall bring the cruel est of the nations to seize their houses. I shal put an end to the pride of theire'lite, and their sanctuary wil be profaned.	24 ed io farò venire la feccia delle nazioni, che possederà le loro case, e metterò fine alla superbia dei potenti e i loro santuari saranno occupati.
25 Terror is on the way: they will look for peace and there wil be none.	25 Al sosopravvenire dell'angoscia cercheranno la pace, ma non vi sarà.
26 Disaster will fol ow on disaster, rumour on rumour; they will pester the prophet for a vision; the priestwil be at a loss over the law and the elders on how to advise.	26 Verrà sventura sopra sventura e notizia sopra notizia, e cercheranno visioni dal profeta, ai sacerdoti mancherà la legge, agli anziani il consiglio.
27 The king wil go into mourning, the prince be plunged in grief, the hands of the country people tremble.I shal treat them as their conduct deserves, and judge them as their own verdicts merit. Then they wil know thatI am Yahweh!" '	27 Il re sarà in duolo, il principe sarà coperto di tristezza, le mani del popolo della terra tremeranno. Io li tratterò secondo le loro opere, li giudicherò secondo i loro giudizi, e sapranno che io sono il Signore ».
