1 'So, son of man, prophesy against Gog. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you,Gog, paramount prince of Meshech and Tubal.	1 Ora tu, figlio dell’uomo, profetizza contro Gog: “Così dice il Signore Jahvè: Eccomi a te, o Gog, principe capo di Meshech e Tubal.
2 I shal turn you about, lead you on, and bring you from the farthest north against the mountains ofIsrael.	2 Ti sospingerò, ti caccerò innanzi, ti farò salire dall’estremo nord e ti condurrò contro i monti di Israele.
3 I shal break the bow in your left hand and dash the arrows out of your right.	3 Qui spezzerò l’arco della tua sinistra e farò cadere le frecce dalla tua destra.
4 You will fal on the mountains of Israel, you, al your troops and the nations with you. I shall make youfood for every kind of bird of prey and wild animals.	4 Cadrai sui monti di Israele, tu e tutte le tue schiere e i popoli che sono con te; ti ho dato in pasto agli uccelli rapaci; a ogni specie di volatile e di bestie selvatiche.
5 You will fal in the wilds, for I have spoken -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	5 Giacerai nell’aperta campagna, perché io l’ho detto — oracolo di Jahvè.
6 I shal send down fire on Magog and on those living undisturbed in the islands, and they wil know thatI am Yahweh.	6 Quindi manderò il fuoco in Magog, tra coloro che abitano tranquillamente nelle isole; sapranno che io sono Jahvè.
7 I shal see that my holy name is acknowledged by my people Israel, and no longer al ow my holy nameto be profaned; and the nations wil know that I am Yahweh, holy in Israel.	7 Manifesterò il mio santo nome in Israele mio popolo né permetterò che esso sia più profanato; le genti sapranno che io sono Jahvè, santo in Israele.
8 "All this is to happen, al this is to take place -- declares the Lord Yahweh. This is the day I predicted.	8 Ecco, ciò avviene e si compie — oracolo di Jahvè —, è questo il tempo di cui ho parlato.
9 "The inhabitants of the towns of Israel wil go out and set fire to and burn the weapons, the shields andbucklers, bows and arrows, javelins and spears. They wil burn these for seven years	9 Usciranno allora gli abitanti delle città di Israele e per accendere il fuoco bruceranno le armi: rotelle e scudi, archi e frecce, mazze e lance; con esse accenderanno il fuoco per sette anni.
10 and not fetch wood from the countryside or cut it in the forests, since they wil be burning theweapons. They will plunder those who plundered them, and despoil those who despoiled them -- declares theLord Yahweh.	10 Non avranno bisogno di fare legna nei campi o tagliarne dai boschi poiché accenderanno il fuoco con le armi. Faranno bottino su coloro che li spogliavano, deprederanno coloro che depredavano — oracolo di Jahvè.
11 "That day, I shall give Gog a famous spot in Israel for his grave, the val ey of the Obarim, east of theSea -- the val ey that halts the travel er -- and there Gog and his whole throng wil be buried, and it wil be cal edthe Val ey of Hamon-Gog.	11 In quel tempo, darò a Gog, come sepolcro un luogo famoso in Israele, la valle di Abarim, a oriente del mare; essa sbarra il passo ai viandanti. Là seppellitaritio Gog e tutta la sua moltitudine; sì chiamerà valle di Hamon-Gog.
12 The House of Israel will take seven months to bury them and cleanse the country.	12 Per sette mesi la casa di Israele li seppellirà per purificare il paese;
13 Al the people of the country wil dig their graves, thus winning themselves renown, the day when Idisplay my glory -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	13 li seppelliranno tutti gli abitanti del paese. Quel giorno in cui manifesterò la mia gloria sarà per essi famoso — oracolo di Jahvè.
14 And men wil be detailed to the permanent duty of going through the country and burying those leftabove ground and cleansing it. They wil begin their search once the seven months are over,	14 Quindi sceglieranno uomini che percorrano stabilmente il paese seppellendo con l’aiuto dei viandanti, per purificario, i cadaveri rimasti sul terreno. 17 'Son of man, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Say to the birds of every kind and to al the wild animals:Muster, come, gather from everywhere around for the sacrifice I am making for you, a great sacrifice on themountains of Israel, so that you can eat flesh and drink blood.	17 Tu, poi, figlio dell’uomo — così dice il Signore Jahvè — parla a ogni specie di uccello e di bestia selvatica: Adunatevi e venite; raccoglietevi da ogni parte sul macello che ho compiuto per voi, ecatombe enorme, sui monti di Israele.
18 You wil eat the flesh of heroes, you wil drink the blood of the princes of the world. They are al ramsand lambs, goats and fat bul s of Bashan.	18 Mangerete la carne dei prodi e berrete il sangue dei principi di ciascun paese, tutti: montoni, agnelli e capri, tori, grossi animali di Bashan,
19 You wil glut yourselves on fat and drink yourselves drunk on blood at this sacrifice I am making foryou.	19 mangerete grasso a sazietà e berrete sangue fino all’ubriachezza nell’ecatombe che ho preparato per voi.
20 You wil glut yourselves at my table on horses and chargers, on heroes and every kind of warrior --declares the Lord Yahweh."	20 Alla mia mensa vi sazierete di destrieri e di cavalli da carro, di prodi e d’ogni specie di uomini di guerra — oracolo del Signore Jahvè.
21 'I shal display my glory to the nations, and al nations wil see my sentence when I inflict it and myhand when I strike them.	21 Porrò così la mia gloria fra le genti; tutte vedranno la giusta vendetta che avrò fatto e la mano che avrò posto su di loro.
22 The House of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God, from that day forward for ever.	22 Da allora in poi la casa di Israele saprà che io sono Jahvè loro Dio.
23 The nations too wil know that the House of Israel were exiled for their guilt; because they wereunfaithful to me, I hid my face from them and put them into the clutches of their enemies, so that they all fel bythe sword.	23 Le genti dovranno riconoscere che la casa di Israele fu deportata per le sue colpe, perché mi furono infedeli; perciò nascosi loro il mio volto, li abbandonai celle mani dei loro nemici e perirono tutti di spada.
24 I treated them as their loathsome acts of infidelity deserved and hid my face from them.	24 Li trattai secondo le loro iniquità e i loro ‘misfatti, nascondendo loro il mio volto.
25 'So, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Now I shal bring Jacob's captives back and take pity on the wholeHouse of Israel and show myself jealous for my holy name.	25 Perciò così dice il Signore Jahvè: Ora muterò le. sorti di Giacobbe e avrò pietà della casa di Israele, geloso del mio santo nome.
26 They will forget their disgrace and al the acts of infidelity which they committed against me whenthey were living safely in their own country, with no one to disturb them.	26 Essi si vergogneranno della loro ignominia e di tutte le infedele che hanno commesso verso di me, quando abiteranno tranquilli nei loro territori senza alcun disturbo,
27 When I bring them home from the peoples, when I gather them back from the countries of theirenemies, when I display my holiness in them for many nations to see,	27 quando li avrò ricondotti dai popoli e adunati dalle regioni dei loro nemici, quando avrò manifestato in essi la mia santità al cospetto di numerosi popoli.
28 they wil know that I am Yahweh their God who, having sent them into exile among the nations, havereunited them in their own country, not leaving a single one behind.	28 Sapranno che io sono Jahvè loro Dio quando dopo averli deportati fra le genti, li radunerò nel loro paese senza lasciarne più alcuno laggiù,
29 I shal never hide my face from them again, since I shal pour out my spirit on the House of Israel --declares the Lord Yahweh." '	29 né più nasconderò loro il mio volto perché infonderò il mio spirito nella casa di Israele — oracolo del Signore Jahvè”».
