Ezekiel 39

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 'So, son of man, prophesy against Gog. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you,Gog, paramount prince of Meshech and Tubal.	1 Tu autem, fili hominis, va ticinare adversum Gog et dices: Haec dicitDominus Deus: Ecce ego super te, Gog, principem summum Mosoch e Thubal;
2 I shal turn you about, lead you on, and bring you from the farthest north against the mountains ofIsrael.	2 etcircumagam te et seducam te et ascendere faciam de extremo aquilone et adducamte super montes Israel.
3 I shal break the bow in your left hand and dash the arrows out of your right.	3 Et percutiam arcum tuum in manu sinistra tua etsagittas tuas de manu dextera tua deiciam.
4 You will fal on the mountains of Israel, you, al your troops and the nations with you. I shall make youfood for every kind of bird of prey and wild animals.	4 Super montes Israel cades, tu etomnia agmina tua et populi, qui sunt tecum; feris avibus, omni volatili etbestiis terrae dedi te devorandum:
5 You will fal in the wilds, for I have spoken -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	5 super faciem agri cades, quia ego locutussum, ait Dominus Deus.
6 I shal send down fire on Magog and on those living undisturbed in the islands, and they wil know thatI am Yahweh.	6 Et emittam ignem in Magog et in his, qui habitant ininsulis confidenter, et scient quia ego Dominus.
7 I shal see that my holy name is acknowledged by my people Israel, and no longer al ow my holy nameto be profaned; and the nations wil know that I am Yahweh, holy in Israel.	7 Et nomen sanctum meum notumfaciam in medio populi mei Israel et non polluam nomen sanctum meum amplius, etscient gentes quia ego Dominus, sanctus in Israel.
8 "All this is to happen, al this is to take place -- declares the Lord Yahweh. This is the day I predicted.	8 Ecce venit et fit, aitDominus Deus; haec est dies, de qua locutus sum.
9 "The inhabitants of the towns of Israel wil go out and set fire to and burn the weapons, the shields andbucklers, bows and arrows, javelins and spears. They wil burn these for seven years	9 Et egredientur habitatores de civitatibus Israel et succendent et comburentarma, clipeum et scutum, arcum et sagittas et baculos, manus et contos, etsuccendent ea igne septem annis.
10 and not fetch wood from the countryside or cut it in the forests, since they wil be burning theweapons. They will plunder those who plundered them, and despoil those who despoiled them -- declares theLord Yahweh.	10 Et non portabunt ligna de campis nequesuccident de saltibus, quoniam arma succendent igne et depraedabuntur eos,quibus praedae fuerant, et diripient vastatores suos, ait Dominus Deus.
11 "That day, I shall give Gog a famous spot in Israel for his grave, the val ey of the Obarim, east of theSea -- the val ey that halts the travel er -- and there Gog and his whole throng wil be buried, and it wil be cal edthe Val ey of Hamon-Gog.	11 Et erit, in die illa dabo Gog locum nominatum sepulcrum in Israel, vallemviatorum ad orientem maris, quae oppilat viam praetereuntibus; et sepelient ibiGog et omnem multitudinem eius, et vocabitur vallis Multitudinis Gog.
12 The House of Israel will take seven months to bury them and cleanse the country.	12 Etsepelient eos domus Israel, ut mundent terram septem mensibus;
13 Al the people of the country wil dig their graves, thus winning themselves renown, the day when Idisplay my glory -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	13 sepeliet autemeum omnis populus terrae, et erit eis nominata dies, in qua glorificatus sum,ait Dominus Deus.
14 And men wil be detailed to the permanent duty of going through the country and burying those leftabove ground and cleansing it. They wil begin their search once the seven months are over,	14 Et viros iugiter constituent lustrantes terram, quisepeliant eos, qui remanserant super faciem terrae, ut emundent eam; post mensesautem septem quaerere incipient
15 and as they go through the country, if one of them sees any human bones, he wil set up a markerbeside them until the gravediggers have buried them in the val ey of Hamon-Gog	15 et circuibunt peragrantes terram; cumqueviderint os hominis, statuent iuxta illud titulum, donec sepeliant illudpollinctores in valle Multitudinis Gog.
16 (and Hamonah is also the name of a town) and have cleansed the country."	16 Nomen quoque civitatis Amona, etmundabunt terram.
17 'Son of man, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Say to the birds of every kind and to al the wild animals:Muster, come, gather from everywhere around for the sacrifice I am making for you, a great sacrifice on themountains of Israel, so that you can eat flesh and drink blood.	17 Tu ergo, fili hominis, haec dicit Dominus Deus, dic volucri, universis avibuscunctisque bestiis agri: Convenite, properate, concurrite undique ad victimammeam, quam ego immolo vobis, victimam grandem super montes Israel, ut comedatiscarnes et bibatis sanguinem.
18 You wil eat the flesh of heroes, you wil drink the blood of the princes of the world. They are al ramsand lambs, goats and fat bul s of Bashan.	18 Carnes fortium comedetis et sanguinem principumterrae bibetis: arietes, agni et hirci taurique saginati de Basan sunt omnes;
19 You wil glut yourselves on fat and drink yourselves drunk on blood at this sacrifice I am making foryou.	19 et comedetis adipem in saturitatem et bibetis sanguinem in ebrietatem devictima, quam ego immolabo vobis.
20 You wil glut yourselves at my table on horses and chargers, on heroes and every kind of warrior --declares the Lord Yahweh."	20 Et saturabimini super mensam meam de equoet de iugali currus, de forti et de universis viris bellatoribus, ait DominusDeus.
21 'I shal display my glory to the nations, and al nations wil see my sentence when I inflict it and myhand when I strike them.	21 Et ponam gloriam meam in gentibus, et videbunt omnes gentes iudicium meum,quod fecerim, et manum meam, quam posuerim super eos;
22 The House of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God, from that day forward for ever.	22 et scient domus Israelquia ego Dominus Deus eorum a die illa et deinceps,
23 The nations too wil know that the House of Israel were exiled for their guilt; because they wereunfaithful to me, I hid my face from them and put them into the clutches of their enemies, so that they all fel bythe sword.	23 et scient gentes quoniamin iniquitate sua capta sit domus Israel, eo quod reliquerint me, et absconderimfaciem meam ab eis et tradiderim eos in manus hostium suorum, et ceciderint ingladio universi.
24 I treated them as their loathsome acts of infidelity deserved and hid my face from them.	24 Iuxta immunditiam eorum et scelera eorum feci eis etabscondi faciem meam ab illis.
25 'So, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Now I shal bring Jacob's captives back and take pity on the wholeHouse of Israel and show myself jealous for my holy name.	25 Propterea haec dicit Dominus Deus: Nunc restituam Iacob et miserebor omnisdomus Israel et assumam zelum pro nomine sancto meo.
26 They will forget their disgrace and al the acts of infidelity which they committed against me whenthey were living safely in their own country, with no one to disturb them.	26 Et portabunt confusionemsuam et omnem praevaricationem, quam praevaricati sunt in me, cum habitaverintin terra sua confidenter; et nemo erit qui exterreat.
27 When I bring them home from the peoples, when I gather them back from the countries of theirenemies, when I display my holiness in them for many nations to see,	27 Et reduxero eos depopulis et congregavero de terris inimicorum suorum et sanctificatus fuero ineis in oculis gentium plurimarum,
28 they wil know that I am Yahweh their God who, having sent them into exile among the nations, havereunited them in their own country, not leaving a single one behind.	28 et scient quia ego Dominus Deus eorum, eoquod transtulerim eos in nationes et congregaverim eos super terram suam et nondereliquerim quemquam ex eis ibi.
29 I shal never hide my face from them again, since I shal pour out my spirit on the House of Israel --declares the Lord Yahweh." '	29 Et non abscondam ultra faciem meam ab eis,eo quod effuderim spiritum meum super domum Israel ”, ait Dominus Deus.
