NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 'So, son of man, prophesy against Gog. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Look, I am against you,Gog, paramount prince of Meshech and Tubal.	1 Fils d’homme, prophétise donc contre Gog. Tu diras: Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je me dirige vers toi, Gog, grand chef de Méchek et de Toubal.
2 I shal turn you about, lead you on, and bring you from the farthest north against the mountains ofIsrael.	2 Je te mènerai, je te conduirai, je te ferai venir des extrémités du nord et je te ferai monter sur les montagnes d’Israël.
3 I shal break the bow in your left hand and dash the arrows out of your right.	3 Dans ta main gauche, je briserai ton arc, et je ferai tomber les flèches de ta main droite.
4 You will fal on the mountains of Israel, you, al your troops and the nations with you. I shall make youfood for every kind of bird of prey and wild animals.	4 Tu tomberas sur les montagnes d’Israël avec toute ton armée et tous les peuples venus avec toi. Je t’ai déjà livré en pâture aux rapaces, aux oiseaux de toute espèce et aux bêtes sauvages.
5 You will fal in the wilds, for I have spoken -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	5 Tu tomberas sur le sol en pleine campagne, c’est moi qui le dis - parole de Yahvé.
6 I shal send down fire on Magog and on those living undisturbed in the islands, and they wil know thatI am Yahweh.	6 J’enverrai un feu dans Magog et chez les habitants des îles qui vivent en sécurité, et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
7 I shal see that my holy name is acknowledged by my people Israel, and no longer al ow my holy nameto be profaned; and the nations wil know that I am Yahweh, holy in Israel.	7 Je ferai connaître mon saint Nom au milieu de mon peuple Israël; je ne laisserai plus profaner mon saint Nom et les nations sauront que je suis Yahvé, le Saint d’Israël.
8 "All this is to happen, al this is to take place -- declares the Lord Yahweh. This is the day I predicted.	8 La chose vient, dit Yahvé, elle va se faire; voici venir le jour dont j’ai parlé.
9 "The inhabitants of the towns of Israel wil go out and set fire to and burn the weapons, the shields andbucklers, bows and arrows, javelins and spears. They wil burn these for seven years	9 Alors les habitants des villes d’Israël sortiront, ils feront des feux et ils y brûleront les armes, les petits et les grands boucliers, l’arc et les flèches, le javelot et la lance, ils en feront du feu pour sept ans.
10 and not fetch wood from the countryside or cut it in the forests, since they wil be burning theweapons. They will plunder those who plundered them, and despoil those who despoiled them -- declares theLord Yahweh.	10 On ne les verra plus transporter du bois ramassé dans la campagne, ils n’iront plus en chercher dans les forêts, car ils feront du feu avec les armes; ils dépouilleront ceux qui les dépouillaient et pilleront ceux qui les pillaient - parole de Yahvé.
11 "That day, I shall give Gog a famous spot in Israel for his grave, the val ey of the Obarim, east of theSea -- the val ey that halts the travel er -- and there Gog and his whole throng wil be buried, and it wil be cal edthe Val ey of Hamon-Gog.	11 En ce jour-là je donnerai comme sépulture à Gog un lieu célèbre en Israël: la vallée des Abarim, à l’est de la mer, la vallée où le passant doit s’arrêter. C’est là qu’on enterrera Gog et toute son armée, et on l’appellera: vallée de Hamon-Gog.
12 The House of Israel will take seven months to bury them and cleanse the country.	12 Il faudra alors purifier le pays: pendant sept mois le peuple d’Israël les enterrera.
13 Al the people of the country wil dig their graves, thus winning themselves renown, the day when Idisplay my glory -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	13 Tous les gens du pays travailleront à les enterrer et ils en seront fiers, le jour où je manifesterai ma gloire - parole de Yahvé.
14 And men wil be detailed to the permanent duty of going through the country and burying those leftabove ground and cleansing it. They wil begin their search once the seven months are over,	14 Passés les sept mois, on désignera des hommes pour parcourir le pays et enterrer ceux qui seront restés, afin de purifier le sol.
15 and as they go through the country, if one of them sees any human bones, he wil set up a markerbeside them until the gravediggers have buried them in the val ey of Hamon-Gog	15 Ils parcourront donc le pays, et celui qui verra des ossements humains élèvera à côté un tas de pierres: ensuite les fossoyeurs les enterreront dans la vallée de Hamon-Gog.
16 (and Hamonah is also the name of a town) and have cleansed the country."	16 ( ) Ainsi le pays sera purifié.
17 'Son of man, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Say to the birds of every kind and to al the wild animals:Muster, come, gather from everywhere around for the sacrifice I am making for you, a great sacrifice on themountains of Israel, so that you can eat flesh and drink blood.	17 Fils d’homme, dis aux oiseaux de toute espèce et aux bêtes sauvages: “Rassemblez-vous, venez de partout et réunissez-vous pour le sacrifice - parole de Yahvé - un grand sacrifice que je vous ai préparé sur les montagnes d’Israël; il y aura de la viande à manger et du sang à boire.
18 You wil eat the flesh of heroes, you wil drink the blood of the princes of the world. They are al ramsand lambs, goats and fat bul s of Bashan.	18 Vous mangerez la chair des guerriers, vous boirez le sang des chefs de la terre: voilà bien des béliers, des agneaux, des boucs et des taureaux gras de Bashan!
19 You wil glut yourselves on fat and drink yourselves drunk on blood at this sacrifice I am making foryou.	19 À ce sacrifice que je vous ai préparé, la graisse ne vous sera pas mesurée, et vous boirez du sang jusqu’à vous enivrer.
20 You wil glut yourselves at my table on horses and chargers, on heroes and every kind of warrior --declares the Lord Yahweh."	20 C’est Yahvé qui vous le dit: à ma table vous serez rassasiés de chevaux et d’attelages, d’hommes d’élite et de soldats.
21 'I shal display my glory to the nations, and al nations wil see my sentence when I inflict it and myhand when I strike them.	21 Je montrerai ainsi ma gloire aux nations. Je veux qu’elles sachent ce qu’est ma justice et comment je sais abattre ma main sur elles.
22 The House of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God, from that day forward for ever.	22 Alors et pour toujours la maison d’Israël saura que je suis Yahvé son Dieu.
23 The nations too wil know that the House of Israel were exiled for their guilt; because they wereunfaithful to me, I hid my face from them and put them into the clutches of their enemies, so that they all fel bythe sword.	23 Les nations comprendront que si le peuple d’Israël a été exilé, c’est parce qu’il a péché contre moi; je lui ai caché mon visage car il m’était infidèle; je l’ai livré aux mains de ses ennemis, et tous sont tombés par l’épée.
24 I treated them as their loathsome acts of infidelity deserved and hid my face from them.	24 Je les ai traités comme le méritaient leurs péchés et leurs infidélités, et je leur ai caché mon visage.
25 'So, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Now I shal bring Jacob's captives back and take pity on the wholeHouse of Israel and show myself jealous for my holy name.	25 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je vais ramener les exilés de Jacob, j’aurai pitié d’Israël tout entier et je défendrai jalousement mon saint Nom.
26 They will forget their disgrace and al the acts of infidelity which they committed against me whenthey were living safely in their own country, with no one to disturb them.	26 Lorsqu’ils habiteront leur pays en paix et que personne déjà ne les inquiétera, ils oublieront leur triste passé et toutes les infidélités qu’ils ont commises envers moi.
27 When I bring them home from the peoples, when I gather them back from the countries of theirenemies, when I display my holiness in them for many nations to see,	27 Je les rassemblerai du milieu des peuples et je les ferai revenir du pays de leurs ennemis, grâce à eux je manifesterai ma sainteté devant de nombreuses nations.
28 they wil know that I am Yahweh their God who, having sent them into exile among the nations, havereunited them in their own country, not leaving a single one behind.	28 Ils sauront que je suis Yahvé leur Dieu lorsque je me manifesterai aux nations païennes.
29 I shal never hide my face from them again, since I shal pour out my spirit on the House of Israel --declares the Lord Yahweh." '	29 Je ne leur cacherai plus mon visage mais je répandrai mon Esprit sur le peuple d’Israël - parole de Yahvé.
