Ezekiel 26

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 In the eleventh year, on the first of the month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	1 וַיְהִי בְּעַשְׁתֵּי־עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ הָיָה דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר
2 'Son of man, since Tyre has said of Jerusalem: "Aha! She is shattered, the Gateway to the Nations;she now gives way to me. Her riches are ruined!"	2 בֶּן־אָדָם יַעַן אֲשֶׁר־אָמְרָה צֹּר עַל־יְרוּשָׁלִַם הֶאָח נִשְׁבְּרָה דַּלְתֹות הָעַמִּים נָסֵבָּה אֵלָי אִמָּלְאָה הָחֳרָבָה
3 Very well, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Now, Tyre, I am against you,	3 לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי עָלַיִךְ צֹר וְהַעֲלֵיתִי עָלַיִךְ גֹּויִם רַבִּים כְּהַעֲלֹות הַיָּם לְגַלָּיו
4 I shal raise many nations against you as the sea raises its waves. They wil destroy the wal s of Tyre,they will demolish her towers; I shal sweep the dust of her away and reduce her to a naked rock.	4 וְשִׁחֲתוּ חֹמֹות צֹר וְהָרְסוּ מִגְדָּלֶיהָ וְסִחֵיתִי עֲפָרָהּ מִמֶּנָּה וְנָתַתִּי אֹותָהּ לִצְחִיחַ סָלַע
5 She will be a drying-ground out to sea for fishing-nets. For I have spoken- declares Lord Yahweh. Shewil be the prey of the nations.	5 מִשְׁטַח חֲרָמִים תִּהְיֶה בְּתֹוךְ הַיָּם כִּי אֲנִי דִבַּרְתִּי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וְהָיְתָה לְבַז לַגֹּויִם
6 As for her daughters on the mainland, these will be put to the sword, and they wil know that I amYahweh."	6 וּבְנֹותֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר בַּשָּׂדֶה בַּחֶרֶב תֵּהָרַגְנָה וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה׃ פ
7 'For the Lord Yahweh says this, "From the north, I shall bring Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, kingof kings, down on Tyre with horses, chariots, cavalry and an enormous army.	7 כִּי כֹה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי מֵבִיא אֶל־צֹר נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶל מִצָּפֹון מֶלֶךְ מְלָכִים בְּסוּס וּבְרֶכֶב וּבְפָרָשִׁים וְקָהָל וְעַם־רָב
8 He will put your daughters on the mainland to the sword. He wil build siege-works against you, cast upa siege-ramp against you, raise a screen against you;	8 בְּנֹותַיִךְ בַּשָּׂדֶה בַּחֶרֶב יַהֲרֹג וְנָתַן עָלַיִךְ דָּיֵק וְשָׁפַךְ עָלַיִךְ סֹלְלָה וְהֵקִים עָלַיִךְ צִנָּה
9 he wil pound your wal s with his battering-rams, and demolish your towers with his siege-engines.	9 וּמְחִי קָבָלֹּו יִתֵּן בְּחֹמֹותָיִךְ וּמִגְדְּלֹתַיִךְ יִתֹּץ בְּחַרְבֹותָיו
10 His horses are so many that their dust wil hide you. The noise of his horsemen and his chariot-wheels wil make your walls tremble as he enters your gates as though storming into a city through the breach.	10 מִשִּׁפְעַת סוּסָיו יְכַסֵּךְ אֲבָקָם מִקֹּול פָּרַשׁ וְגַלְגַּל וָרֶכֶב תִּרְעַשְׁנָה חֹומֹותַיִךְ בְּבֹאֹו בִּשְׁעָרַיִךְ כִּמְבֹואֵי עִיר מְבֻקָּעָה
11 With his horses' hoofs he wil trample through al your streets; he wil put your people to the sword,and throw your massive pil ars to the ground.	11 בְּפַרְסֹות סוּסָיו יִרְמֹס אֶת־כָּל־חוּצֹותָיִךְ עַמֵּךְ בַּחֶרֶב יַהֲרֹג וּמַצְּבֹות עֻזֵּךְ לָאָרֶץ תֵּרֵד
12 Your wealth wil be seized, your merchandise looted, your wal s rased, your luxurious housesshattered, your stones, your timbers, your very dust, thrown into the sea.	12 וְשָׁלְלוּ חֵילֵךְ וּבָזְזוּ רְכֻלָּתֵךְ וְהָרְסוּ חֹומֹותַיִךְ וּבָתֵּי חֶמְדָּתֵךְ יִתֹּצוּ וַאֲבָנַיִךְ וְעֵצַיִךְ וַעֲפָרֵךְ בְּתֹוךְ מַיִם יָשִׂימוּ
13 I shal put an end to the sound of your songs; the sound of your harps wil not be heard again.	13 וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי הֲמֹון שִׁירָיִךְ וְקֹול כִּנֹּורַיִךְ לֹא יִשָּׁמַע עֹוד
14 I shal reduce you to a naked rock, and make you into a drying-ground for fishing-nets, never to berebuilt; for I, Yahweh, have spoken -declares the Lord Yahweh."	14 וּנְתַתִּיךְ לִצְחִיחַ סֶלַע מִשְׁטַח חֲרָמִים תִּהְיֶה לֹא תִבָּנֶה עֹוד כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה דִּבַּרְתִּי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה׃ ס
15 'The Lord Yahweh says this to Tyre, "Wil not the islands quake at the sound of your fall, while thewounded groan and the slaughter takes place inside you?	15 כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה לְצֹור הֲלֹא ׀ מִקֹּול מַפַּלְתֵּךְ בֶּאֱנֹק חָלָל בֵּהָרֵג הֶרֶג בְּתֹוכֵךְ יִרְעֲשׁוּ הָאִיִּים
16 Al the princes of the sea wil leave their thrones, lay aside their cloaks, take off their embroideredrobes. Dressed in terror they will sit on the ground trembling incessantly, stunned at your fate.	16 וְיָרְדוּ מֵעַל כִּסְאֹותָם כֹּל נְשִׂיאֵי הַיָּם וְהֵסִירוּ אֶת־מְעִילֵיהֶם וְאֶת־בִּגְדֵי רִקְמָתָם יִפְשֹׁטוּ חֲרָדֹות ׀ יִלְבָּשׁוּ עַל־הָאָרֶץ יֵשֵׁבוּ וְחָרְדוּ לִרְגָעִים וְשָׁמְמוּ עָלָיִךְ
17 "They wil raise the lament for you as fol ows: You are destroyed then, vanished from the seas,famous city, former sea-power, who with her citizens, used to spread terror al over the mainland!	17 וְנָשְׂאוּ עָלַיִךְ קִינָה וְאָמְרוּ לָךְ אֵיךְ אָבַדְתְּ נֹושֶׁבֶת מִיַּמִּים הָעִיר הַהֻלָּלָה אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה חֲזָקָה בַיָּם הִיא וְיֹשְׁבֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר־נָתְנוּ חִתִּיתָם לְכָל־יֹושְׁבֶיהָ
18 Now the islands are trembling on the day of your fal ; the islands of the sea are terrified by your end.	18 עַתָּה יֶחְרְדוּ הָאִיִּן יֹום מַפַּלְתֵּךְ וְנִבְהֲלוּ הָאִיִּים אֲשֶׁר־בַּיָּם מִצֵּאתֵךְ׃ ס
19 "For the Lord Yahweh says this: "When I make you a ruined city like other deserted cities, when Iraise the deep against you and the ocean covers you,	19 כִּי כֹה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה בְּתִתִּי אֹתָךְ עִיר נֶחֱרֶבֶת כֶּעָרִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־נֹושָׁבוּ בְּהַעֲלֹות עָלַיִךְ אֶת־תְּהֹום וְכִסּוּךְ הַמַּיִם הָרַבִּים
20 when I fling you down with those who go down into the abyss, with the people of long ago, and putyou deep in the underworld, in the ruins of long ago with those who sink into oblivion, so that you can nevercome back or be restored to the land of the living,	20 וְהֹורַדְתִּיךְ אֶת־יֹורְדֵי בֹור אֶל־עַם עֹולָם וְהֹושַׁבְתִּיךְ בְּאֶרֶץ תַּחְתִּיֹּות כָּחֳרָבֹות מֵעֹולָם אֶת־יֹורְדֵי בֹור לְמַעַן לֹא תֵשֵׁבִי וְנָתַתִּי צְבִי בְּאֶרֶץ חַיִּים
21 I wil make you an object of terror; you wil not exist. People wil look for you but never find you again-- declares the Lord Yahweh!" '	21 בַּלָּהֹות אֶתְּנֵךְ וְאֵינֵךְ וּתְבֻקְשִׁי וְלֹא־תִמָּצְאִי עֹוד לְעֹולָם נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהֹוִה׃ ס
