NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 In the eleventh year, on the first of the month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	1 La onzième année, le premier du mois, une parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 'Son of man, since Tyre has said of Jerusalem: "Aha! She is shattered, the Gateway to the Nations;she now gives way to me. Her riches are ruined!"	2 “Fils d’homme, Tyr a bien ri de Jérusalem, elle a dit: La voilà brisée la porte des peuples! Elle est en ruines, et tout le trafic aboutira chez moi.
3 Very well, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Now, Tyre, I am against you,	3 Eh bien, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je vais m’en prendre à toi, Tyr, et je ferai monter contre toi des nations nombreuses comme les flots de la mer.
4 I shal raise many nations against you as the sea raises its waves. They wil destroy the wal s of Tyre,they will demolish her towers; I shal sweep the dust of her away and reduce her to a naked rock.	4 Elles détruiront les remparts de Tyr et abattront ses tours; j’en balaierai la poussière et j’en ferai un rocher nu.
5 She will be a drying-ground out to sea for fishing-nets. For I have spoken- declares Lord Yahweh. Shewil be the prey of the nations.	5 Elle ne sera plus qu’un séchoir en mer pour étendre les filets. C’est moi Yahvé qui le dis: elle sera pillée par les nations.
6 As for her daughters on the mainland, these will be put to the sword, and they wil know that I amYahweh."	6 Ses villages qui sont sur la terre ferme seront livrés à l’épée et l’on saura que je suis Yahvé.
7 'For the Lord Yahweh says this, "From the north, I shall bring Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, kingof kings, down on Tyre with horses, chariots, cavalry and an enormous army.	7 Car voici ce que dit Yahvé: Du nord je fais venir contre Tyr Nabukodonozor, le roi de Babylone, le roi des rois! Il vient avec chevaux, chars et cavaliers, des peuples coalisés, une armée énorme.
8 He will put your daughters on the mainland to the sword. He wil build siege-works against you, cast upa siege-ramp against you, raise a screen against you;	8 Il frappera de l’épée tes villes qui sont sur la terre ferme, il établira contre toi des retranchements, il élèvera un remblai et dressera un bouclier,
9 he wil pound your wal s with his battering-rams, and demolish your towers with his siege-engines.	9 il frappera tes remparts à coups de bélier et démolira tes tours avec ses machines de siège.
10 His horses are so many that their dust wil hide you. The noise of his horsemen and his chariot-wheels wil make your walls tremble as he enters your gates as though storming into a city through the breach.	10 Il entrera par les portes dans la ville prise d’assaut, le pas de ses chevaux te couvrira de poussière, le vacarme des attelages, des chariots et des chars ébranlera tes remparts,
11 With his horses' hoofs he wil trample through al your streets; he wil put your people to the sword,and throw your massive pil ars to the ground.	11 les sabots de ses chevaux frapperont tes pavés. Il passera ton peuple au fil de l’épée et tes pierres dressées seront jetées à terre.
12 Your wealth wil be seized, your merchandise looted, your wal s rased, your luxurious housesshattered, your stones, your timbers, your very dust, thrown into the sea.	12 On emportera tes richesses, on pillera les fruits de ton travail, tes remparts seront abattus, et tes belles maisons, démolies: on jettera les pierres à la mer, avec le bois et les décombres.
13 I shal put an end to the sound of your songs; the sound of your harps wil not be heard again.	13 Je ferai taire le bruit de tes chansons, personne n’entendra plus le son de tes harpes.
14 I shal reduce you to a naked rock, and make you into a drying-ground for fishing-nets, never to berebuilt; for I, Yahweh, have spoken -declares the Lord Yahweh."	14 Je ferai de toi un rocher nu, un séchoir pour étendre les filets, et tu ne seras pas reconstruite: c’est moi qui le dis - parole de Yahvé.
15 'The Lord Yahweh says this to Tyre, "Wil not the islands quake at the sound of your fall, while thewounded groan and the slaughter takes place inside you?	15 Voici ce que dit Yahvé à propos de Tyr: Ta chute fera du bruit. On entendra les appels des blessés, lorsque le massacre fera rage au milieu de toi: les îles en seront dans l’épouvante.
16 Al the princes of the sea wil leave their thrones, lay aside their cloaks, take off their embroideredrobes. Dressed in terror they will sit on the ground trembling incessantly, stunned at your fate.	16 Alors tous les princes de la mer descendront de leur trônes, ils enlèveront leur manteau et quitteront leurs vêtements de fête. Ils prendront les habits de deuil et s’assiéront par terre. Ils seront frappés de stupeur en pensant à toi, et resteront là à trembler.
17 "They wil raise the lament for you as fol ows: You are destroyed then, vanished from the seas,famous city, former sea-power, who with her citizens, used to spread terror al over the mainland!	17 Alors ils chanteront sur toi ce chant funèbre: Où est-elle, la ville fameuse qui dominait les mers, à qui ses habitants donnaient tant de prestige?
18 Now the islands are trembling on the day of your fal ; the islands of the sea are terrified by your end.	18 Ta chute aujourd’hui a fait trembler les îles! ( )
19 "For the Lord Yahweh says this: "When I make you a ruined city like other deserted cities, when Iraise the deep against you and the ocean covers you,	19 Oui, c’est Yahvé qui le dit: Je ferai de toi une ville déserte, comme les villes qu’on n’habite plus. L’océan viendra battre contre toi, ses vagues passeront sur toi.
20 when I fling you down with those who go down into the abyss, with the people of long ago, and putyou deep in the underworld, in the ruins of long ago with those who sink into oblivion, so that you can nevercome back or be restored to the land of the living,	20 Je te ferai descendre avec ceux qui vont à la tombe, et tu rejoindras le peuple des trépassés. Je veux que tu habites au monde d’en-bas, avec tout ce qui a passé, avec ceux qui s’en sont allés à la fosse; tu n’en reviendras pas, tu ne seras pas rebâtie sur la terre des vivants.
21 I wil make you an object of terror; you wil not exist. People wil look for you but never find you again-- declares the Lord Yahweh!" '	21 Je ferai de toi un exemple et tu ne seras plus, ( ) plus jamais! - parole de Yahvé.
