Ezekiel 25

New Jerusalem Bible	Peshitta ܦܫܝܼܛܬܵܐ
¹ The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	¹ ܘܗܘܐ ܥܠܝ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܠܡܐܡܪ
² 'Son of man, turn towards the Ammonites and prophesy against them.	² ܒܪ ܐܢܫܐ ܣܝܡ ܐ̈ܦܝܟ ܥܠ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܐܬܢܒܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ
³ Say to the Ammonites, "Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since yougloated over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was ravaged, and over theHouse of Judah when it went into exile,	³ ܘܐܡܪ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܫܡܥܘ ܦܬܓܡܗ ܕܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܐܡܪܬܘܢ ܐܚܢ ܥܠ ܡܩܕܫܝ ܕܐܬܛܘܫ ܘܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܚܪܒܬ ܘܥܠ ܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܕܐܙܠܘ ܒܫܒܝܬܐ
⁴ I shal let the sons of the East take possession of you; they wil pitch their camps inside you, they wilmake their home in you. They will be the ones to eat your produce and drink your milk.	⁴ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܐ ܝܗ̇ܒ ܐܢܐ ܠܟܝ ܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܕܢܚܐ ܠܝܘܪܬܢܐ ܘܢܥܡܪ ܒܟܝ ܚܝܠܗܘܢ ܘܢܩܫܘܢ ܒܟܝ ܡܫ̈ܟܢܝܗܘܢ ܗܢܘܢ ܢܐܟܠܘܢ ܦܐܪ̈ܝܟܝ ܘܗܢܘܢ ܢܫܬܘܢ ܚܠܒܟܝ
⁵ I shal turn Rabbah into a camel yard and the towns of Ammon into sheepfolds. And so you wil knowthat I am Yahweh.	⁵ ܘܐܬܠܝܗ̇ ܠܪܒܬ ܠܪܒܥܐ ܕܓܡ̈ܠܐ ܘܠܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܠܡܪܒܥܐ ܕܥܢܐ ܘܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ
⁶ "The Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have clapped your hands and danced for joy, ful of maliciousdelight at Israel's fate,	⁶ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܢܩܫܬܝ ܒܐ̈ܝܕܝܟܝ ܘܪܦܣܬܝ ܒܪ̈ܓܠܝܟܝ ܘܚܕܝܬܝ ܒܢܦܫܟܝ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
⁷ my hand wil be against you for this; I shall hand you over to be looted by the peoples, obliterate youas a nation and wipe you out as a country. I shal reduce you to nothing, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	⁷ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܡ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܕܝ ܥܠܝܟܝ ܘܐܬܠܟܝ ܒܙܬܐ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܣܝܦܟܝ ܡܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܘܐܘܒܕܟܝ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ ܘܐܚܪܒܟܝ ܘܬܕܥܝܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ
⁸ "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Moab and Seir have said: Look at the House of Judah; it is nodifferent from any other nation;	⁸ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܐܡܪ ܡܘܐܒ ܘܣܥܝܪ ܗܐ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ
⁹ very wel , I shall expose Moab's heights; its cities will no longer be cities throughout the land -- thejewels of the country, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon and Kiriathaim.	⁹ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܐ ܡܪܬܥ ܐܢܐ ܟܬܦܗ ܕܡܘܐܒ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܐ ܡܢ ܡܕܝܢ̈ܬܗ ܘܡܢ ܚܕܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܫܘܒܚܐ ܕܐܪܥܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܐܫܝܡܘܢ ܘܕܒܥܠܡܘܢ ܘܕܩܘܪܝܬܝܡ
¹⁰ I shal let the sons of the East and the Ammonites take possession of them, so that they wil nolonger be remembered by the nations.	¹⁰ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܡܕܢܚܐ ܘܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܐܬܠܝܗ̇ ܠܝܘܪܬܢܐ ܕܠܐ ܬܬܕܟܪ ܪܒܬ ܕܒܢ̈ܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܒܥܡ̈ܡܐ
¹¹ I shal bring Moab to justice, and they will know that I am Yahweh.	¹¹ ܘܒܡܘܐܒ ܐܥܒܕ ܕܝܢܐ ܘܬܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ
¹² "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Edom has taken revenge on the House of Judah and committedgreat crimes in doing so,	¹² ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܥܒܕ ܐܕܘܡ ܦܘܪܥܢܐ ܠܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܐܠܡ ܐܠܡܐ ܘܛܢܘ ܒܗܘܢ
¹³ very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against Edom and denude it of human andanimal. I shal lay it waste, from Teman as far as Dedan they wil be put to the sword.	¹³ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܡ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܕܝ ܥܠ ܐܕܘܡ ܘܡܘܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܡܢܗ̇ ܒܢ̈ܝ ܐܢܫܐ ܘܒܥܝܪܐ ܘܐܥܒܕܝܗ̇ ܠܚܘܪܒܐ ܡܢ ܬܝܡܢ ܘܕܪܢ ܘܒܚܪܒܐ ܬܦܠ
¹⁴ I shal take vengeance on Edom by means of my people Israel. They wil treat Edom as my angerand fury dictate, and they wil know this is my vengeance -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	¹⁴ ܘܐܥܒܕ ܦܘܪܥܢܝ ܒܐܕܘܡ ܒܝܕ ܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܢܬܦܪܥܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܕܘܡ ܐܝܟ ܪܘܓܙܝ ܘܐܝܟ ܚܡܬܝ ܘܢܕܥܘܢܗ ܠܦܘܪܥܢܝ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ
¹⁵ "The Lord Yahweh says this, "Since the Philistines have acted in revenge and, motivated by malice,have taken revenge, doing their best to destroy because of their long-standing hatred,	¹⁵ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠ ܕܥܒܕܘ ܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܦܘܪܥܢܐ ܘܐܬܦܪܥܘ ܦܘܪܥܢܐ ܒܪܓܬܐ ܕܢܦܫܗܘܢ ܕܢܚܒܠܘܢ ܪܚܡܘܬܐ ܕܥܠܡ
¹⁶ very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against the Philistines; I shal exterminate theCherethites and destroy the rest of the coastal peoples.	¹⁶ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܐܡ̇ܪ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܗܐ ܡܪܝܡ ܐܢܐ ܐܝܕܝ ܥܠ ܦܠܫܬ̈ܝܐ ܘܡܘܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܩܪ̈ܛܐ ܘܡܘܒܕ ܐܢܐ ܫܪܟܐ ܕܣܦܪ̈ܝ ܝܡܐ
¹⁷ I shal perform frightful acts of vengeance and inflict furious punishments on them; and they will knowthat I am Yahweh, when I exact my vengeance on them." '	¹⁷ ܘܐܥܒܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܦܘܪ̈ܥܢܝ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܐ ܒܡܟܣܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܪܘܓܙܐ ܘܢܕܥܘܢ ܕܐܢܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܐ ܕܥܒ̇ܕܬ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܦܘܪ̈ܥܢܝ
