1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 E la parola del Signore mi fu indirizzata in questi termini:
2 'Son of man, turn towards the Ammonites and prophesy against them.	2 « Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la faccia contro i figli d'Ammon, e profetizza contro di essi.
3 Say to the Ammonites, "Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since yougloated over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was ravaged, and over theHouse of Judah when it went into exile,	3 Tu dirai ai figli d'Ammon: Ascoltate la parola del Signore Dio: cosi parla il Signore Dio: Perchè tu hai detto: « Bene! Bene! » riguardo al mio santuario, che è stato profanato, e riguardo alla terra d'Israele, che è restata desolata, e sopra la casa di Giuda, che è stata condotta in schiavitù,
4 I shal let the sons of the East take possession of you; they wil pitch their camps inside you, they wilmake their home in you. They will be the ones to eat your produce and drink your milk.	4 per questo io ti darò in possesso ai figli d'Oriente: essi metteranno in te i loro rinchiusi pel bestiame, alzeranno in te le loro tende, essi mangeranno i tuoi frutti, essi berranno il tuo latte.
5 I shal turn Rabbah into a camel yard and the towns of Ammon into sheepfolds. And so you wil knowthat I am Yahweh.	5 E farò di Rabbat una dimora di cammelli, e (della terra) dei figli d'Ammon una stalla per le bestie, e conoscerete che io sono il Signore.
6 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have clapped your hands and danced for joy, ful of maliciousdelight at Israel's fate,	6 Così infatti parla il Signore Dio: Perchè hai battute lo mani, ed hai battuti i piedi, e di tutto cuore ti sei rallegrata a riguardo della terra d'Israele,
7 my hand wil be against you for this; I shall hand you over to be looted by the peoples, obliterate youas a nation and wipe you out as a country. I shal reduce you to nothing, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	7 per questo, io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te, ti darò in preda alle nazioni, ti toglierò dal numero dei popoli, ti sperderò dalla terra, ti stritolerò, e saprai che io sono il Signore ».
8 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Moab and Seir have said: Look at the House of Judah; it is nodifferent from any other nation;	8 Così parla il Signore Dio: « Perchè Moab e Seir han detto: « Ecco che la casa di Giuda è diventata come tutte le nazioni »,
9 very wel , I shall expose Moab's heights; its cities will no longer be cities throughout the land -- thejewels of the country, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon and Kiriathaim.	9 per questo, ecco io aprirò il fianco di Moab, dalla parte delle città, dette città di lei — dico — dai suoi confini, e te glorie del paese, Betiesimot, Beelmeon, Cariatami,
10 I shal let the sons of the East and the Ammonites take possession of them, so that they wil nolonger be remembered by the nations.	10 (l'aprirò) ai figli dell'Oriente, e come (il paese) dei figli d'Ammon, cosi anche il loro lo darò ad essi in possesso, in modo che fra te nazioni non ci sia più memoria dei figli d'Ammon.
11 I shal bring Moab to justice, and they will know that I am Yahweh.	11 E farò giustizia contro Moab, e sa­pranno che io sono il Signore ».
12 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Edom has taken revenge on the House of Judah and committedgreat crimes in doing so,	12 Così parla il Signore Dio: « Perchè l'Idumea ha fatto crudele vendetta contro i figli di Giuda, e si è resa grandemente colpevole per desiderio di vendetta contro di essi,
13 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against Edom and denude it of human andanimal. I shal lay it waste, from Teman as far as Dedan they wil be put to the sword.	13 per questo, così parla il Signore Dio: Io stenderò la mia mano contro l'Idumea, e ne sterminerò gli uomini e te bestie, e la renderò un deserto dalla parte australe, e quelli che si trovano in Dedan cadrai! sotto la spada.
14 I shal take vengeance on Edom by means of my people Israel. They wil treat Edom as my angerand fury dictate, and they wil know this is my vengeance -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 E farò le mie vendette sopra l'Idumea per mozzo d'Israele mio popolo, che tratterà Edom secondo l'ira mia, il mio furore, ed ossi conosceranno la mia vendetta — dice il Signore Dio ».
15 "The Lord Yahweh says this, "Since the Philistines have acted in revenge and, motivated by malice,have taken revenge, doing their best to destroy because of their long-standing hatred,	15 Così parla il Signore Dio: « Perchè i Filistei si son vendicati e han fatta la vendetta con tutto Tanimo, uccidendo e sfogando antiche inimicizie,
16 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against the Philistines; I shal exterminate theCherethites and destroy the rest of the coastal peoples.	16 per questo, cosi parla ii Signore Dio: Ecco che io stenderò la mia mano contro i Filistei, e ucciderò gli uccisori e distruggerò i resti del paese marittimo.
17 I shal perform frightful acts of vengeance and inflict furious punishments on them; and they will knowthat I am Yahweh, when I exact my vengeance on them." '	17 Farò su di ossi grandi vendette, li castigherò con furore, e sapranno che io sono il Signore, quando avrò fatto piombare su di essi le mie vendette ».
