1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 Cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 'Son of man, turn towards the Ammonites and prophesy against them.	2 “Fils d’homme, tourne-toi vers les Ammonites et prophétise contre eux.
3 Say to the Ammonites, "Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since yougloated over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was ravaged, and over theHouse of Judah when it went into exile,	3 Tu diras ceci aux fils d’Ammon de la part de Yahvé: Tu as bien ri lorsque mon Temple a été profané, lorsque la terre d’Israël a été dévastée et le peuple de Juda est parti en captivité.
4 I shal let the sons of the East take possession of you; they wil pitch their camps inside you, they wilmake their home in you. They will be the ones to eat your produce and drink your milk.	4 Eh bien, à cause de cela, je vais te livrer aux fils de l’Orient; ils viendront camper chez toi, ils fixeront chez toi leurs tentes, ils mangeront tes fruits et boiront ton lait.
5 I shal turn Rabbah into a camel yard and the towns of Ammon into sheepfolds. And so you wil knowthat I am Yahweh.	5 Je ferai de Rabba un pâturage pour les chameaux, et du pays d’Ammon un enclos pour les brebis; alors vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.
6 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have clapped your hands and danced for joy, ful of maliciousdelight at Israel's fate,	6 Car voici ce que dit Yahvé: Tu as applaudi des deux mains et tu as frappé du pied, tu as ricané avec mépris au sujet de la terre d’Israël.
7 my hand wil be against you for this; I shall hand you over to be looted by the peoples, obliterate youas a nation and wipe you out as a country. I shal reduce you to nothing, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	7 Eh bien, à cause de cela, je lève la main contre toi; je te livrerai en pâture aux nations, je te ferai disparaître du milieu des peuples et tu ne seras plus un pays. Alors tu sauras que je suis Yahvé.
8 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Moab and Seir have said: Look at the House of Judah; it is nodifferent from any other nation;	8 Voici encore une parole de Yahvé: Moab a dit que la maison de Juda était comme toutes les autres nations.”
9 very wel , I shall expose Moab's heights; its cities will no longer be cities throughout the land -- thejewels of the country, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon and Kiriathaim.	9 À cause de cela je vais ouvrir le flanc de Moab et ravager d’une frontière à l’autre ces villes qui sont l’ornement du pays: Beth-Ha-Yéchimot, Baal-Méon et Kiryatayim.
10 I shal let the sons of the East and the Ammonites take possession of them, so that they wil nolonger be remembered by the nations.	10 Comme les Ammonites, je les livrerai aux fils de l’Orient et l’on ne se souviendra plus d’elles parmi les nations.
11 I shal bring Moab to justice, and they will know that I am Yahweh.	11 Lorsque je châtierai Moab, on saura que je suis Yahvé.
12 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Edom has taken revenge on the House of Judah and committedgreat crimes in doing so,	12 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Édom s’est vengé des gens de Juda et cette vengeance va lui coûter cher.
13 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against Edom and denude it of human andanimal. I shal lay it waste, from Teman as far as Dedan they wil be put to the sword.	13 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je vais lever la main contre Édom et j’en retrancherai hommes et bêtes; j’en ferai un désert: de Téman jusqu’à Dédan ils tomberont sous l’épée.
14 I shal take vengeance on Edom by means of my people Israel. They wil treat Edom as my angerand fury dictate, and they wil know this is my vengeance -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 Je confierai à mon peuple Israël le soin de me venger d’Édom; il traitera Édom selon ma colère et ma fureur, et l’on connaîtra ma vengeance - parole de Yahvé.
15 "The Lord Yahweh says this, "Since the Philistines have acted in revenge and, motivated by malice,have taken revenge, doing their best to destroy because of their long-standing hatred,	15 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Les Philistins se sont vengés, ils se sont vengés avec mépris et haine, ils ont détruit avec une haine sans bornes.
16 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against the Philistines; I shal exterminate theCherethites and destroy the rest of the coastal peoples.	16 Eh bien, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Je m’apprête à lever la main contre les Philistins, je vais éliminer les Kérétiens et détruire ce qui reste des habitants de la côte.
17 I shal perform frightful acts of vengeance and inflict furious punishments on them; and they will knowthat I am Yahweh, when I exact my vengeance on them." '	17 Je vais me venger de façon terrible: alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
