1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 - E il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
2 'Son of man, turn towards the Ammonites and prophesy against them.	2 «Figlio dell'uomo, rivolgiti contro i figli di Ammon e profetizza contro di essi.
3 Say to the Ammonites, "Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since yougloated over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was ravaged, and over theHouse of Judah when it went into exile,	3 E dirai ai figli di Ammon: - Udite la parola del Signore Dio: Così dice il Signore Dio: Perchè hai detto: Bene, benone! al mio santuario, perchè è stato profanato, e alla terra d'Israele, perchè fu messa in desolazione, e alla casa di Giuda, perchè è stata condotta in schiavitù;
4 I shal let the sons of the East take possession of you; they wil pitch their camps inside you, they wilmake their home in you. They will be the ones to eat your produce and drink your milk.	4 per questo io ti consegnerò in possesso ai figli degli orientali, e collocheranno in te le loro mandre e fisseranno in te le loro tende, essi mangeranno i tuoi frutti e berranno il tuo latte.
5 I shal turn Rabbah into a camel yard and the towns of Ammon into sheepfolds. And so you wil knowthat I am Yahweh.	5 E ridurrò Rabbat una stanza di cammelli e la terra dei figli di Ammon un pecorile di greggi; e conoscerete che io sono il Signore -».
6 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have clapped your hands and danced for joy, ful of maliciousdelight at Israel's fate,	6 E così dice il Signore Dio: «Poichè hai fatto plauso colle mani e hai saltato coi piedi di allegrezza e goduto con tutta l'effusione dell'anima sulla sorte della terra di Israele,
7 my hand wil be against you for this; I shall hand you over to be looted by the peoples, obliterate youas a nation and wipe you out as a country. I shal reduce you to nothing, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	7 per questo, ecco che io stenderò la mia mano sopra di te e ti darò in preda delle genti e ti reciderò dai popoli e ti sterminerò dalle terre e ti schiaccerò; e conoscerai che io sono il Signore».
8 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Moab and Seir have said: Look at the House of Judah; it is nodifferent from any other nation;	8 Così dice il Signore Dio: «Perchè Moab e Seir hanno detto: - Ecco che la casa di Giuda è come tutte le altre genti. -
9 very wel , I shall expose Moab's heights; its cities will no longer be cities throughout the land -- thejewels of the country, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon and Kiriathaim.	9 Per questo, ecco ch'io aprirò il fianco di Moab dalla parte delle città, delle città sue, dico, e della frontiera, le più celebrate della contrada, Betiesimot e Beelmon e Cariataim
10 I shal let the sons of the East and the Ammonites take possession of them, so that they wil nolonger be remembered by the nations.	10 ai figli dell'oriente insieme col paese dei figli di Ammon. E glielo darò in possesso affinchè non resti più memoria di Ammon tra le genti
11 I shal bring Moab to justice, and they will know that I am Yahweh.	11 e in Moab eseguirò i miei giudizi e conosceranno che io sono il Signore».
12 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Edom has taken revenge on the House of Judah and committedgreat crimes in doing so,	12 Così dice il Signore Dio: «Perchè l'Idumea ha compiuto la vendetta pel gusto di vendicarsi sui figli di Giuda e ha perpetrato un delitto prendendosi la vendetta su di essi;
13 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against Edom and denude it of human andanimal. I shal lay it waste, from Teman as far as Dedan they wil be put to the sword.	13 per questo, così dice il Signore Dio: - Io stenderò la mia mano sopra l'Idumea e vi sterminerò gli uomini e gli armenti e la ridurrò deserta dal mezzogiorno, e quei di Dedan cadranno sotto la spada.
14 I shal take vengeance on Edom by means of my people Israel. They wil treat Edom as my angerand fury dictate, and they wil know this is my vengeance -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 E farò la mia vendetta sopra l'Idumea per mano del popolo mio Israele e tratteranno Edom secondo la mia ira e il mio furore e conosceranno la mia vendetta -», dice il Signore Dio.
15 "The Lord Yahweh says this, "Since the Philistines have acted in revenge and, motivated by malice,have taken revenge, doing their best to destroy because of their long-standing hatred,	15 Così dice il Signore Dio: «Perchè i Filistei hanno cercato la vendetta e si sono vendicati con tutto il loro astio facendo strage e sfogando le inimicizie inveterate»;
16 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against the Philistines; I shal exterminate theCherethites and destroy the rest of the coastal peoples.	16 per questo così dice il Signore Dio: «Ecco ch'io stenderò la mia mano sopra i Filistei e sterminerò gli sterminatori e disperderò i residui della zona del mare
17 I shal perform frightful acts of vengeance and inflict furious punishments on them; and they will knowthat I am Yahweh, when I exact my vengeance on them." '	17 e farò su di loro grandi vendette castigandoli in tutto il mio furore; e conosceranno che io sono il Signore quando farò piombare su di loro la mia vendetta».
