1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 Akkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 'Son of man, turn towards the Ammonites and prophesy against them.	2 »Emberfia, fordítsd arcodat Ammon fiai ellen, jövendölj ellenük,
3 Say to the Ammonites, "Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since yougloated over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was ravaged, and over theHouse of Judah when it went into exile,	3 és mondd Ammon fiainak: Halljátok az Úr Isten igéjét! Így szól az Úr Isten: Mivel ti így beszéltetek szentélyemről, amikor meggyalázták, és Izrael földjéről, amikor elpusztult, és Júda házáról, amikor fogságba hurcolták: ‘Haha, haha!’ –
4 I shal let the sons of the East take possession of you; they wil pitch their camps inside you, they wilmake their home in you. They will be the ones to eat your produce and drink your milk.	4 íme, téged a napkelet fiainak adlak örökrészül; benned állítják majd fel karámjaikat és benned ütik fel sátraikat; ők eszik meg termésedet és ők isszák meg tejedet.
5 I shal turn Rabbah into a camel yard and the towns of Ammon into sheepfolds. And so you wil knowthat I am Yahweh.	5 Rabbátot pedig tevék tanyájává teszem, és Ammon fiainak földjét nyájak pihenőhelyévé; és megtudjátok, hogy én vagyok az Úr.
6 "The Lord Yahweh says this: Since you have clapped your hands and danced for joy, ful of maliciousdelight at Israel's fate,	6 Mert így szól az Úr Isten: Mivel kezeddel tapsoltál és lábaddal dobbantottál és teljes szívedből örültél Izrael földje miatt,
7 my hand wil be against you for this; I shall hand you over to be looted by the peoples, obliterate youas a nation and wipe you out as a country. I shal reduce you to nothing, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	7 azért íme, kinyújtom rád kezemet és a nemzetek zsákmányává teszlek. Kiirtalak a népek közül, kitöröllek az országok közül és összetiporlak, s megtudod majd, hogy én vagyok az Úr!
8 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Moab and Seir have said: Look at the House of Judah; it is nodifferent from any other nation;	8 Így szól az Úr Isten: Mivel Moáb és Szeír ezt mondták: ‘Íme, Júda háza is olyan, mint bármely más nemzet!’,
9 very wel , I shall expose Moab's heights; its cities will no longer be cities throughout the land -- thejewels of the country, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Meon and Kiriathaim.	9 azért íme, én hozzáférhetővé teszem Moáb lejtőit a városok felől; az ő városai felől, mondom, és az ő határai felől az ország ékességeit: Bét-Jesimótot, Beelmeont és Kirjátaimot;

12 "The Lord Yahweh says this: "Since Edom has taken revenge on the House of Judah and committedgreat crimes in doing so,	12 Így szól az Úr Isten: Mivel Edom bosszút állt és megbosszulta magát Júda fiain, bűnre bűnt halmozott, és bosszúját kitöltötte rajtuk,
13 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against Edom and denude it of human andanimal. I shal lay it waste, from Teman as far as Dedan they wil be put to the sword.	13 azért így szól az Úr Isten: Kinyújtom kezemet Edomra, elveszem tőle az embert és az állatot, és pusztasággá teszem Temántól kezdve, és akik Dedánban laknak, kard által hullanak majd el.
14 I shal take vengeance on Edom by means of my people Israel. They wil treat Edom as my angerand fury dictate, and they wil know this is my vengeance -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 Kitöltöm bosszúmat Edomon az én népemnek, Izraelnek keze által, s ők Edommal haragom és bosszúm szerint cselekszenek, úgyhogy megismeri majd bosszúállásomat – mondja az Úr Isten! –
15 "The Lord Yahweh says this, "Since the Philistines have acted in revenge and, motivated by malice,have taken revenge, doing their best to destroy because of their long-standing hatred,	15 Így szól az Úr Isten: Mivel a filiszteusok bosszúállók voltak és teljes lelkükből megbosszulták magukat: gyilkoltak és folytatták a régi ellenségeskedést,
16 very well, the Lord Yahweh says this: My hand wil be against the Philistines; I shal exterminate theCherethites and destroy the rest of the coastal peoples.	16 azért így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, én kinyújtom kezemet a filiszteusokra, megölöm az öldöklőket, kiirtom a tengerparti ország megmaradt részét,
17 I shal perform frightful acts of vengeance and inflict furious punishments on them; and they will knowthat I am Yahweh, when I exact my vengeance on them." '	17 és hatalmas bosszút állok rajtuk; megfenyítem őket haragomban, s ők megtudják majd, hogy én vagyok az Úr, amikor bosszúmat kitöltöm rajtuk!«
