Leviticus 9

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel;	1 Facto autem octavo die, vocavit Moyses Aaron et filios eius ac maiores natu Israel dixitque ad Aaron:
2 he said to Aaron, 'Take a calf to offer a sacrifice for sin, and a ram for a burnt offering, both withoutblemish, and bring them before Yahweh.	2 “ Tolle de armento vitulum pro peccato et arietem in holocaustum, utrumque immaculatum, et affer illos coram Domino.
3 Then say to the Israelites, "Take a goat to be offered as a sacrifice for sin, a calf and a lamb one yearold (both without blemish) for a burnt offering,	3 Et ad filios Israel loqueris: "Tollite hircum pro peccato et vitulum atque agnum anniculos et sine macula in holocaustum,
4 a bul and a ram for communion sacrifices to be slaughtered before Yahweh, and a cereal offeringmixed with oil. For Yahweh wil appear to you today." '	4 bovem et arietem pro pacificis, et immolate eos coram Domino, et sacrificium similae oleo conspersae: hodie enim Dominus apparebit vobis" ”.
5 They brought what Moses had ordered in front of the Tent of Meeting; then the whole communityapproached and stood before Yahweh.	5 Tulerunt ergo cuncta, quae iusserat Moyses, ad ostium tabernaculi conventus; ubi, cum omnis coetus accessisset et staret coram Domino,
6 Moses then said, 'This is what Yahweh has ordered you to do, so that his glory may be visible to you.'	6 ait Moyses: “ Iste est sermo, quem praecepit Dominus: facite, et apparebit vobis gloria eius ”.
7 Moses then addressed Aaron, 'Go to the altar and offer your sacrifice for sin and your burnt offering,and so perform the rite of expiation for yourself and your family. Then present the people's offering and performthe rite of expiation for them, as Yahweh has ordered.'	7 Dixit et ad Aaron: “ Accede ad altare et immola pro peccato tuo; offer holocaustum et expia te et populum. Et fac hostiam populi et expia eum, sicut praecepit Dominus ”.
8 Aaron went to the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sacrifice for his own sin.	8 Statimque Aaron accedens ad altare immolavit vitulum pro peccato suo,
9 Aaron's sons then presented the blood to him; he dipped his finger in it and put some on the horns ofthe altar, and then poured the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar.	9 cuius sanguinem obtulerunt ei filii sui; in quo tinguens digitum tetigit cornua altaris et fudit residuum ad basim eius.
10 The fat of the sacrifice for sin and the kidneys and the mass of fat over the liver he burned on the altar,as Yahweh had ordered Moses,	10 Adipemque et renunculos ac reticulum iecoris, quae sunt de sacrificio pro peccato, adolevit super altare, sicut praeceperat Dominus Moysi.
11 and the meat and the skin he burned outside the camp.	11 Carnes vero et pellem eius extra castra combussit igni.
12 He then slaughtered the burnt offering; Aaron's sons then handed him the blood, which he poured alaround the altar.	12 Immolavit et holocausti victimam; obtuleruntque ei filii sui sanguinem eius, quem fudit per altaris circuitum.
13 They then handed him the quartered victim and the head, and he burned these on the altar.	13 Ipsam etiam hostiam in frusta concisam cum capite ei obtulerunt, quae omnia super altare cremavit igni;
14 He then washed the entrails and shins and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.	14 lavit quoque aqua intestina cruraque et adolevit super holocausto in altari.
15 He then presented the people's offering. He took the goat for the people's sacrifice for sin, slaughteredit, and made a sacrifice for sin with it in the same way as with the first.	15 Et applicavit oblationem populi sumensque hircum pro peccato populi mactavit et obtulit in expiationem sicut priorem;
16 He then had the burnt offering brought forward and proceeded according to the ritual.	16 fecit quoque holocaustum secundum ritum
17 He then had the cereal offering brought forward, took a handful of it and burned it on the altar inaddition to the morning burnt offering.	17 et addens sacrificium similae implevit manum ex illa et adolevit super altare praeter holocaustum matutinum.
18 Then he slaughtered the bul and the ram as a communion sacrifice for the people. Aaron's sonshanded him the blood and he poured it al around the altar.	18 Immolavit et bovem atque arietem, hostias pacificas populi; obtuleruntque ei filii sui sanguinem, quem fudit super altare in circuitu.
19 The fat of the bul and the ram, the tail, the covering fat, the kidneys, the mass of fat over the liver,	19 Adipes autem bovis et caudam arietis renunculosque cum adipibus suis et reticulum iecoris
20 he placed on the ribs and then burned on the altar.	20 posuerunt super pectora; cumque cremati essent adipes in altari,
21 With the ribs and the right thigh Aaron made the gesture of offering as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	21 pectora eorum et armos dextros Aaron elevavit coram Domino, sicut praeceperat Moyses.
22 Aaron then raised his hands towards the people and blessed them. Having thus performed thesacrifice for sin, the burnt offering and the communion sacrifice, he came down	22 Et elevans Aaron manus ad populum benedixit eis. Sicque, completis hostiis pro peccato et holocaustis et pacificis, descendit.
23 and entered the Tent of Meeting with Moses. Then they came out together to bless the people and theglory of Yahweh appeared to the entire people:	23 Ingressi autem Moyses et Aaron tabernaculum conventus et deinceps egressi benedixerunt populo. Apparuitque gloria Domini omni populo;
24 a flame leapt out from Yahweh's presence and consumed the burnt offering and fat on the altar. At thissight the entire people shouted for joy and fel on their faces.	24 et ecce egressus ignis a Domino devoravit holocaustum et adipes, qui erant super altare. Quod cum vidissent turbae, exultaverunt ruentes in facies suas.
