Leviticus 9

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel;	1 Au huitième jour Moïse convoqua Aaron, ses fils et les anciens d'Israël;
2 he said to Aaron, 'Take a calf to offer a sacrifice for sin, and a ram for a burnt offering, both withoutblemish, and bring them before Yahweh.	2 il dit à Aaron: "Prends un veau pour faire un sacrifice pour le péché et un bélier pour unholocauste, l'un et l'autre sans défaut, et amène-les devant Yahvé."
3 Then say to the Israelites, "Take a goat to be offered as a sacrifice for sin, a calf and a lamb one yearold (both without blemish) for a burnt offering,	3 Tu diras ensuite aux enfants d'Israël: "Prenez un bouc pour offrir un sacrifice pour le péché, unveau et un agneau d'un an (tous deux sans défaut) pour un holocauste,
4 a bul and a ram for communion sacrifices to be slaughtered before Yahweh, and a cereal offeringmixed with oil. For Yahweh wil appear to you today." '	4 un taureau et un bélier pour des sacrifices de communion à immoler devant Yahvé, enfin uneoblation pétrie à l'huile. Aujourd'hui en effet Yahvé vous apparaîtra."
5 They brought what Moses had ordered in front of the Tent of Meeting; then the whole communityapproached and stood before Yahweh.	5 Ils amenèrent devant la Tente du Rendez-vous ce qu'avait commandé Moïse, puis toute lacommunauté s'approcha et se tint devant Yahvé.
6 Moses then said, 'This is what Yahweh has ordered you to do, so that his glory may be visible to you.'	6 Moïse dit: "Voici ce que Yahvé vous a ordonné de faire pour que sa gloire vous apparaisse."
7 Moses then addressed Aaron, 'Go to the altar and offer your sacrifice for sin and your burnt offering,and so perform the rite of expiation for yourself and your family. Then present the people's offering and performthe rite of expiation for them, as Yahweh has ordered.'	7 Moïse alors s'adressa à Aaron: "Approche-toi de l'autel, offre ton sacrifice pour le péché et tonholocauste, et fais ainsi le rite d'expiation pour toi et pour ta maison. Présente alors l'offrande du peuple et faispour lui le rite d'expiation comme l'a ordonné Yahvé."
8 Aaron went to the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sacrifice for his own sin.	8 Aaron s'approcha de l'autel, immola le veau du sacrifice pour son propre péché.
9 Aaron's sons then presented the blood to him; he dipped his finger in it and put some on the horns ofthe altar, and then poured the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar.	9 Puis les fils d'Aaron lui présentèrent le sang; il y trempa le doigt et en déposa sur les cornes del'autel, puis il versa le sang à la base de l'autel.
10 The fat of the sacrifice for sin and the kidneys and the mass of fat over the liver he burned on the altar,as Yahweh had ordered Moses,	10 La graisse du sacrifice pour le péché, les rognons et la masse de graisse qui part du foie, il les fitfumer à l'autel comme Yahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse;
11 and the meat and the skin he burned outside the camp.	11 la chair et la peau, il les brûla hors du camp.
12 He then slaughtered the burnt offering; Aaron's sons then handed him the blood, which he poured alaround the altar.	12 Il immola ensuite l'holocauste, dont les fils d'Aaron lui remirent le sang; il le fit couler sur lepourtour de l'autel.
13 They then handed him the quartered victim and the head, and he burned these on the altar.	13 Ils lui remirent aussi la victime dépecée en quartiers, ainsi que la tête, et il les fit fumer à l'autel.
14 He then washed the entrails and shins and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.	14 Il lava entrailles et pattes et les fit fumer à l'autel en plus de l'holocauste.
15 He then presented the people's offering. He took the goat for the people's sacrifice for sin, slaughteredit, and made a sacrifice for sin with it in the same way as with the first.	15 Il présenta alors l'offrande du peuple: il prit le bouc du sacrifice pour le péché du peuple, ill'immola et en fit un sacrifice pour le péché de la même manière que pour le premier.
16 He then had the burnt offering brought forward and proceeded according to the ritual.	16 Il fit alors approcher l'holocauste et procéda selon la règle.
17 He then had the cereal offering brought forward, took a handful of it and burned it on the altar inaddition to the morning burnt offering.	17 Puis, ayant fait approcher l'oblation, il en prit une pleine poignée qu'il fit fumer à l'autel en plusde l'holocauste du matin.
18 Then he slaughtered the bul and the ram as a communion sacrifice for the people. Aaron's sonshanded him the blood and he poured it al around the altar.	18 Enfin il immola le taureau et le bélier en sacrifice de communion pour le peuple. Les fils d'Aaronlui en remirent le sang et il le fit couler sur le pourtour de l'autel.
19 The fat of the bul and the ram, the tail, the covering fat, the kidneys, the mass of fat over the liver,	19 Les graisses de ce taureau et de ce bélier, la queue, la graisse enveloppante, les rognons, la massede graisse qui part du foie,
20 he placed on the ribs and then burned on the altar.	20 il les posa sur les poitrines et les fit fumer à l'autel.
21 With the ribs and the right thigh Aaron made the gesture of offering as Yahweh had ordered Moses.	21 Avec les poitrines et la cuisse droite Aaron fit le geste de présentation devant Yahvé, commeYahvé l'avait ordonné à Moïse.
22 Aaron then raised his hands towards the people and blessed them. Having thus performed thesacrifice for sin, the burnt offering and the communion sacrifice, he came down	22 Aaron éleva les mains vers le peuple et le bénit. Ayant ainsi accompli le sacrifice pour le péché,l'holocauste et le sacrifice de communion, il descendit;
23 and entered the Tent of Meeting with Moses. Then they came out together to bless the people and theglory of Yahweh appeared to the entire people:	23 avec Moïse il entra dans la Tente du Rendez-vous. Puis ils en sortirent tous deux pour bénir lepeuple. La gloire de Yahvé apparut à tout le peuple,
24 a flame leapt out from Yahweh's presence and consumed the burnt offering and fat on the altar. At thissight the entire people shouted for joy and fel on their faces.	24 une flamme jaillit de devant Yahvé, qui dévora sur l'autel l'holocauste et les graisses. A cette vuele peuple entier poussa des cris de jubilation et tous tombèrent la face contre terre.
