1 Yahweh spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron who died when offering unauthorisedfire.	1 E il Signore parlò a Mosè dopo la morte de' due figliuoli d'Aronne, allorché per aver offerto un fuoco estraneo furono uccisi:
2 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said: 'Tel Aaron your brother that he may not enter the sanctuary insidethe curtain in front of the mercy-seat on the ark whenever he chooses, in case he incurs death, for I appear in acloud on the mercy-seat.	2 E gli fe' comando, e disse: Di' ad Aronne tuo fratello, ch'ei non in ogni tempo dee entrare nel santuario, che è di là dal velo dinanzi al propiziatorio, che cuopre l'arca, affinché egli non muoia (perocché nella nuvola io mi farò vedere sopra l'oracolo)
3 'This is how he must enter the sanctuary: with a young bul for a sacrifice for sin and a ram for a burntoffering.	3 E se prima non avrà fatto queste cose, offerirà un vitello per il peccato, e un ariete in olocausto.
4 He will put on a tunic of consecrated linen, wear linen drawers on his body, a linen waistband round hiswaist, and a linen turban on his head. These are the sacred vestments he wil put on after washing himself.	4 Si vestirà della tonaca di lino, e delle brache di lino intorno ai fianchi: si cingerà con cintura di lino: si metterà sul capo la tiara di lino: perocché queste sono le vesti sante; delle quali tutte si ammanterà dopo di essersi lavato.
5 'From the community of Israelites he wil receive two he-goats for a sacrifice for sin and a ram for aburnt offering.	5 E gli saran presentati da tutto il popolo de’ figliuoli d'Israele due capri per il peccato, e un ariete in olocausto.
6 After offering the bul as a sacrifice for his own sin and performing the rite of expiation for himself andhis family,	6 E dopo che avrà offerto il vitello, e avrà fatta orazione per sé, e per la sua casa,
7 he wil take the two he-goats and place them before Yahweh at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.	7 Presenterà i due capri dinanzi al Signore alla porta del tabernacolo del testimonio:
8 Aaron wil then draw lots over the two goats, one lot to be for Yahweh and the other lot for Azazel.	8 E tirate le sorti per vedere qual de' due debba essere del Signore, e quale il capro emissario:
9 Aaron wil then take the goat on which the lot "For Yahweh" has fal en, and offer it as a sacrifice for sin.	9 Offerirà per il peccato quello, cui è toccato d'essere del Signore:
10 But the goat on which the lot "For Azazel" has fal en, will be placed alive before Yahweh, for the riteof expiation to be performed with it, and for it then to be sent to Azazel in the desert.	10 Quello poi, cui è toccato d'essere il capro emissario, (il sacerdote) lo presenterà vivo dinanzi al Signore per fare sopra di esso le preghiere, e scacciarlo nel deserto.
11 'Having offered the bul as a sacrifice for his own sin and performed the rite of expiation for himselfand for his family, and slaughtered the bul as a sacrifice for sin,	11 Fatte queste cose secondo il rito, offerirà il vitello, e fatta orazione per sé, e per la sua casa, lo immolerà:
12 Aaron wil then fill a censer with live coals from the altar before Yahweh, take two handfuls of finelyground aromatic incense and bring this inside the curtain.	12 E preso il turibolo, e riempiutolo di carbone acceso dell’altare, e preso colla mano il timiama composto per l'incensazione, passerà oltre il velo nel Santo de' santi:
13 He wil then put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, so that the cloud of incense hides the mercy-seat which is on the Testimony and he does not incur death.	13 Così avvenendo, che posti sul fuoco i profumi, il fumo, e il vapore di essi coprirà l’oracolo, che sta sopra il testimonio, onde quegli non morrà.
14 He wil then take some of the bul 's blood and sprinkle it with his finger on the eastern side of themercy-seat. He will sprinkle some of the blood seven times with his finger in front of the mercy-seat.	14 Prenderà eziandio del sangue del vitello, e col dito ne farà sette volte l’aspersione verso il propiziatorio all’oriente.
15 'He wil then slaughter the goat for the sacrifice for the sin of the people, and take its blood inside thecurtain, and with this blood do as he did with the blood of the bull, sprinkling it on the mercy-seat and in front ofit.	15 E immolato il capro per il peccato del popolo, porterà il sangue di esso dentro del velo, conforme è stato prescritto del sangue del vitello, per farne aspersione verso l’oracolo,
16 This is how he must perform the rite of expiation for the sanctuary for the uncleanness of theIsraelites, for their acts of rebel ion and al their sins. 'And this is what he must do for the Tent of Meeting whichremains with them, surrounded by their uncleanness.	16 Ed espiare il santuario dalle immondezze de' figliuoli d'Israele, e dalle loro prevaricazioni, e da tutti i peccati. Tale è il rito, che egli osserverà riguardo al tabernacolo del testimonio eretto tra di loro in mezzo alle immondezze delle loro abitazioni.
17 No one must be inside the Tent of Meeting, from the moment he enters to make expiation in thesanctuary until the time he comes out. 'When he has made expiation for himself, for his family, and for the wholecommunity of Israel,	17 Non vi sarà anima nel tabernacolo, quando entrerà il pontefice nel Santo de' santi a orare per sé, per la sua casa, e per tutta la società d'Israele, fino a tanto che ei siane uscito.
18 he must come outside, go to the altar before Yahweh and perform the rite of expiation for it. He willtake some of the bul 's blood and some of the goat's blood and put it on the horns at the corners of the altar alaround it,	18 E quando egli sarà venuto all'altare, che è dinanzi al Signore, faccia orazione per sé; e preso del sangue del vitello e del capro lo versi sui corni dell'altare tutto all'intorno:
19 and sprinkle some of the blood on it seven times with his finger, thus purifying it and setting it apartfrom the uncleanness of the Israelites.	19 E fatta col dito sette volte l’aspersione, lo purifichi, e lo mondi dalle impurità de' figliuoli d'Israele.
20 'Once expiation for the sanctuary, the Tent of Meeting and the altar is complete, he will bring the goatwhich is stil alive.	20 E purificato che avrà il santuario, e il tabernacolo, e l'altare, allora presenti il capro vivo:
21 Aaron wil then lay both his hands on its head and over it confess al the guilt of the Israelites, al theiracts of rebel ion and all their sins. Having thus laid them on the goat's head, he will send it out into the desertunder the charge of a man waiting ready,	21 E poste sul capo di lui ambe le mani, confessi tutte le iniquità de' figliuoli d'Israele, e tutti i loro delitti, e peccati: i quali scaricando sulla testa del capro per mezzo di un uomo a ciò destinato, lo manderà nel deserto.
22 and the goat wil bear all their guilt away into some desolate place. 'When he has sent the goat intothe desert,	22 E quando il capro avrà portate tutte le loro iniquità nella solitudine, e sarà lasciato libero nel deserto,
23 Aaron wil go back into the Tent of Meeting and take off the linen vestments which he wore to enterthe sanctuary and leave them there.	23 Tornerà Aronne nel tabernacolo del testimonio, e deposte le vesti, delle quali era ammantato, allorché entrò nel santuario, e ivi lasciatele,
24 He wil then wash his body inside the holy place, put on his vestments and come outside to offer hisown and the people's burnt offering. He wil perform the rite of expiation for himself and for the people,	24 Si laverà la persona nel luogo santo, e ripiglierà le sue vesti. E dopo che uscito fuora avrà offerto l'olocausto suo, e del popolo, farà orazione tanto per sé, come pel popolo:
25 and burn the fat of the sacrifice for sin on the altar.	25 E farà bruciare sull'altare il grasso offerto per il peccato.
26 'The man who led the goat away to Azazel wil wash his clothes and body before entering the camp.	26 Quegli poi, che avrà condotto via il capro emissario, laverà le sue vesti, e il corpo nell’acqua, e poi tornerà agli alloggiamenti.
27 The bul and the goat offered as a sacrifice for sin, the blood of which was taken into the sanctuary forthe rite of expiation, must be taken outside the camp, where their skin, meat and offal are to be burnt.	27 Il vitello poi, e il capro, che furono immolati per il peccato, e il sangue de' quali fu portato nel santuario per fare l’espiazione, si porteranno fuori degli alloggiamenti, e si bruceranno col fuoco tanto le pelli, come le carni loro, e gli escrementi:
28 The man who burns them wil wash his clothes and body before entering the camp.	28 E chiunque gli avrà bruciati, laverà le sue vesti, e la persona nell'acqua, e fatto questo tornerà agli alloggiamenti.
29 'This wil be a perpetual law for you. 'On the tenth day of the seventh month you will fast and refrainfrom work, both citizen and resident alien;	29 Questa sarà per voi legge sempiterna. Il settimo mese ai dieci del mese umilierete le anime vostre, e non lavorerete né voi, né gli stranieri domiciliati tra voi.
30 for this is the day on which the rite of expiation will be performed for you to purify you, to purify youbefore Yahweh from al your sins.	30 In questo giorno si farà la vostra espiazione, e purificazione da tutti i peccati vostri: ne sarete mondati dinanzi al Signore:
31 It wil be a sabbatical rest for you and you wil fast. This is a perpetual law.	31 Perocché questo è il sabato de' sabati, e voi umilierete le anime vostre con tal culto religioso ed eterno.
32 'The rite of expiation wil be performed by the priest who has been anointed and instal ed to officiatein succession to his father. He wil put on the linen vestments, the sacred vestments,	32 La espiazione sarà fatta dal sacerdote, che sarà stato unto, e le mani del quale saranno state consacrate per esercitare il sacerdozio in luogo del padre suo, ed ei sarà vestito della veste di lino, e delle vestimenta sante.
33 and perform the rite of expiation for the holy sanctuary, the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and wilthen perform the rite of expiation for the priests and al the people of the community.	33 Ed egli espierà il santuario, e il tabernacolo del testimonio e l'altare, ed anche i sacerdoti, e tutto il popolo.
34 This wil be a perpetual law for you; once a year the rite of expiation wil be made for the Israelites foral their sins.' And as Yahweh ordered Moses, so it was done.	34 E legge sempiterna sarà per voi di pregare pe' figliuoli d’Israele, e per tutti i loro peccati una volta l’anno. Fece adunque Mosè come avea comandato il Signore.
