1 Yahweh spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron who died when offering unauthorisedfire.	1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè dopo che i due figli di Aronne erano morti mentre si presentavano davanti al Signore.
2 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said: 'Tel Aaron your brother that he may not enter the sanctuary insidethe curtain in front of the mercy-seat on the ark whenever he chooses, in case he incurs death, for I appear in acloud on the mercy-seat.	2 Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Parla ad Aronne, tuo fratello: non entri in qualunque tempo nel santuario, oltre il velo, davanti al propiziatorio che sta sull’arca, affinché non muoia, quando io apparirò in mezzo alla nube sul propiziatorio.
3 'This is how he must enter the sanctuary: with a young bul for a sacrifice for sin and a ram for a burntoffering.	3 Aronne entrerà nel santuario in questo modo: con un giovenco per il sacrificio per il peccato e un ariete per l’olocausto.
4 He will put on a tunic of consecrated linen, wear linen drawers on his body, a linen waistband round hiswaist, and a linen turban on his head. These are the sacred vestments he wil put on after washing himself.	4 Si metterà la tunica sacra di lino, indosserà sul corpo i calzoni di lino, si cingerà della cintura di lino e si metterà in capo il turbante di lino. Sono queste le vesti sacre, che indosserà dopo essersi lavato il corpo con l’acqua.
5 'From the community of Israelites he wil receive two he-goats for a sacrifice for sin and a ram for aburnt offering.	5 Dalla comunità degli Israeliti prenderà due capri per il sacrificio per il peccato e un ariete per l’olocausto.
6 After offering the bul as a sacrifice for his own sin and performing the rite of expiation for himself andhis family,	6 Aronne offrirà il proprio giovenco del sacrificio per il peccato e compirà il rito espiatorio per sé e per la sua casa.
7 he wil take the two he-goats and place them before Yahweh at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.	7 Poi prenderà i due capri e li farà stare davanti al Signore all’ingresso della tenda del convegno
8 Aaron wil then draw lots over the two goats, one lot to be for Yahweh and the other lot for Azazel.	8 e getterà le sorti sui due capri: un capro destinato al Signore e l’altro ad Azazèl.
9 Aaron wil then take the goat on which the lot "For Yahweh" has fal en, and offer it as a sacrifice for sin.	9 Aronne farà quindi avvicinare il capro che è toccato in sorte al Signore e l’offrirà in sacrificio per il peccato;
10 But the goat on which the lot "For Azazel" has fal en, will be placed alive before Yahweh, for the riteof expiation to be performed with it, and for it then to be sent to Azazel in the desert.	10 invece il capro che è toccato in sorte ad Azazèl sarà posto vivo davanti al Signore, perché si compia il rito espiatorio su di esso e sia mandato poi ad Azazèl nel deserto.
11 'Having offered the bul as a sacrifice for his own sin and performed the rite of expiation for himselfand for his family, and slaughtered the bul as a sacrifice for sin,	11 Aronne offrirà il proprio giovenco del sacrificio per il peccato e compirà il rito espiatorio per sé e per la sua casa, e scannerà il proprio giovenco del sacrificio per il peccato.
12 Aaron wil then fill a censer with live coals from the altar before Yahweh, take two handfuls of finelyground aromatic incense and bring this inside the curtain.	12 Poi prenderà l’incensiere pieno di brace, tolta dall’altare davanti al Signore, e due manciate d’incenso aromatico fine; porterà ogni cosa oltre il velo.
13 He wil then put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, so that the cloud of incense hides the mercy-seat which is on the Testimony and he does not incur death.	13 Metterà l’incenso sul fuoco davanti al Signore, e la nube d’incenso coprirà il propiziatorio che sta sulla Testimonianza, affinché non muoia.
14 He wil then take some of the bul 's blood and sprinkle it with his finger on the eastern side of themercy-seat. He will sprinkle some of the blood seven times with his finger in front of the mercy-seat.	14 Poi prenderà un po’ del sangue del giovenco e ne aspergerà con il dito il propiziatorio dal lato orientale e farà sette volte l’aspersione del sangue con il dito, davanti al propiziatorio.
15 'He wil then slaughter the goat for the sacrifice for the sin of the people, and take its blood inside thecurtain, and with this blood do as he did with the blood of the bull, sprinkling it on the mercy-seat and in front ofit.	15 Poi scannerà il capro del sacrificio per il peccato, quello per il popolo, e ne porterà il sangue oltre il velo; farà con questo sangue quello che ha fatto con il sangue del giovenco: lo aspergerà sul propiziatorio e davanti al propiziatorio.
16 This is how he must perform the rite of expiation for the sanctuary for the uncleanness of theIsraelites, for their acts of rebel ion and al their sins. 'And this is what he must do for the Tent of Meeting whichremains with them, surrounded by their uncleanness.	16 Così purificherà il santuario dalle impurità degli Israeliti e dalle loro ribellioni, insieme a tutti i loro peccati. Lo stesso farà per la tenda del convegno che si trova fra di loro, in mezzo alle loro impurità.
17 No one must be inside the Tent of Meeting, from the moment he enters to make expiation in thesanctuary until the time he comes out. 'When he has made expiation for himself, for his family, and for the wholecommunity of Israel,	17 Nessuno dovrà trovarsi nella tenda del convegno, da quando egli entrerà nel santuario per compiere il rito espiatorio fino a quando non sarà uscito e non avrà compiuto il rito espiatorio per sé, per la sua casa e per tutta la comunità d’Israele.
18 he must come outside, go to the altar before Yahweh and perform the rite of expiation for it. He willtake some of the bul 's blood and some of the goat's blood and put it on the horns at the corners of the altar alaround it,	18 Uscito dunque verso l’altare, che è davanti al Signore, lo purificherà, prenderà un po' del sangue del giovenco e del sangue del capro e lo spalmerà sui corni intorno all’altare.
19 and sprinkle some of the blood on it seven times with his finger, thus purifying it and setting it apartfrom the uncleanness of the Israelites.	19 Farà per sette volte l’aspersione del sangue con il dito sopra l’altare; così lo purificherà e lo santificherà dalle impurità degli Israeliti.
20 'Once expiation for the sanctuary, the Tent of Meeting and the altar is complete, he will bring the goatwhich is stil alive.	20 Quando avrà finito di purificare il santuario, la tenda del convegno e l’altare, farà accostare il capro vivo.
21 Aaron wil then lay both his hands on its head and over it confess al the guilt of the Israelites, al theiracts of rebel ion and all their sins. Having thus laid them on the goat's head, he will send it out into the desertunder the charge of a man waiting ready,	21 Aronne poserà entrambe le mani sul capo del capro vivo, confesserà su di esso tutte le colpe degli Israeliti, tutte le loro trasgressioni, tutti i loro peccati e li riverserà sulla testa del capro; poi, per mano di un uomo incaricato di ciò, lo manderà via nel deserto.
22 and the goat wil bear all their guilt away into some desolate place. 'When he has sent the goat intothe desert,	22 Così il capro porterà sopra di sé tutte le loro colpe in una regione remota, ed egli invierà il capro nel deserto.
23 Aaron wil go back into the Tent of Meeting and take off the linen vestments which he wore to enterthe sanctuary and leave them there.	23 Poi Aronne entrerà nella tenda del convegno, si toglierà le vesti di lino che aveva indossato per entrare nel santuario e le deporrà in quel luogo.
24 He wil then wash his body inside the holy place, put on his vestments and come outside to offer hisown and the people's burnt offering. He wil perform the rite of expiation for himself and for the people,	24 Laverà il suo corpo nell’acqua in luogo santo, indosserà le sue vesti e uscirà ad offrire il suo olocausto e l’olocausto del popolo e compirà il rito espiatorio per sé e per il popolo.
25 and burn the fat of the sacrifice for sin on the altar.	25 E farà bruciare sull’altare le parti grasse della vittima del sacrificio per il peccato.
26 'The man who led the goat away to Azazel wil wash his clothes and body before entering the camp.	26 Colui che avrà inviato il capro destinato ad Azazèl si laverà le vesti, laverà il suo corpo nell’acqua; dopo, rientrerà nell’accampamento.
27 The bul and the goat offered as a sacrifice for sin, the blood of which was taken into the sanctuary forthe rite of expiation, must be taken outside the camp, where their skin, meat and offal are to be burnt.	27 Farà portare fuori dall’accampamento il giovenco del sacrificio per il peccato e il capro del sacrificio per il peccato, il cui sangue è stato introdotto nel santuario per compiere il rito espiatorio; se ne bruceranno nel fuoco la pelle, la carne e gli escrementi.
28 The man who burns them wil wash his clothes and body before entering the camp.	28 Colui che li avrà bruciati dovrà lavarsi le vesti e bagnarsi il corpo nell’acqua; dopo, rientrerà nell’accampamento.
29 'This wil be a perpetual law for you. 'On the tenth day of the seventh month you will fast and refrainfrom work, both citizen and resident alien;	29 Questa sarà per voi una legge perenne: nel settimo mese, nel decimo giorno del mese, vi umilierete, vi asterrete da qualsiasi lavoro, sia colui che è nativo del paese sia il forestiero che soggiorna in mezzo a voi,
30 for this is the day on which the rite of expiation will be performed for you to purify you, to purify youbefore Yahweh from al your sins.	30 poiché in quel giorno si compirà il rito espiatorio per voi, al fine di purificarvi da tutti i vostri peccati. Sarete purificati davanti al Signore.
31 It wil be a sabbatical rest for you and you wil fast. This is a perpetual law.	31 Sarà per voi un sabato di riposo assoluto e voi vi umilierete; è una legge perenne.
32 'The rite of expiation wil be performed by the priest who has been anointed and instal ed to officiatein succession to his father. He wil put on the linen vestments, the sacred vestments,	32 Compirà il rito espiatorio il sacerdote che ha ricevuto l’unzione e l’investitura per succedere nel sacerdozio al posto di suo padre; si vestirà delle vesti di lino, delle vesti sacre.
33 and perform the rite of expiation for the holy sanctuary, the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and wilthen perform the rite of expiation for the priests and al the people of the community.	33 Purificherà la parte più santa del santuario, purificherà la tenda del convegno e l’altare; farà l’espiazione per i sacerdoti e per tutto il popolo della comunità.
34 This wil be a perpetual law for you; once a year the rite of expiation wil be made for the Israelites foral their sins.' And as Yahweh ordered Moses, so it was done.	34 Questa sarà per voi una legge perenne: una volta all’anno si compirà il rito espiatorio in favore degli Israeliti, per tutti i loro peccati». E si fece come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
