1 Yahweh spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron who died when offering unauthorisedfire.	1 Yahveh habló a Moisés después de la muerte de los dos hijos de Aarón que murieron al acercarse a Yahveh.
2 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said: 'Tel Aaron your brother that he may not enter the sanctuary insidethe curtain in front of the mercy-seat on the ark whenever he chooses, in case he incurs death, for I appear in acloud on the mercy-seat.	2 Dijo Yahveh a Moisés: Di a tu hermano Aarón que no entre en cualquier tiempo en el santuario que está tras el velo, ante el propiciatorio que está encima del arca, no sea que muera: pues yo me hago ver en la nube encima del propiciatorio.
3 'This is how he must enter the sanctuary: with a young bul for a sacrifice for sin and a ram for a burntoffering.	3 Sólo en estas condiciones podrá entrar Aarón en el santuario: con un novillo para el sacrificio por el pecado y un carnero para el holocausto.
4 He will put on a tunic of consecrated linen, wear linen drawers on his body, a linen waistband round hiswaist, and a linen turban on his head. These are the sacred vestments he wil put on after washing himself.	4 Se vestirá con la túnica sagrada de lino, se pondrá los calzones de lino, se ceñirá la faja de lino y se cubrirá con la tiara de lino. Estas son las vestiduras sagradas que vestirás después de haberse lavado con agua.
5 'From the community of Israelites he wil receive two he-goats for a sacrifice for sin and a ram for aburnt offering.	5 Recibirá de la comunidad de los israelitas dos machos cabríos para el holocausto.
6 After offering the bul as a sacrifice for his own sin and performing the rite of expiation for himself andhis family,	6 Después de ofrecer su novillo por el pecado como expiación por sí mismo y por su casa,
7 he wil take the two he-goats and place them before Yahweh at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.	7 tomará Aarón los dos machos cabríos y los presentará ante Yahveh, a la entrada de la Tienda del Encuentro.
8 Aaron wil then draw lots over the two goats, one lot to be for Yahweh and the other lot for Azazel.	8 Luego echará suertes sobre los dos machos cabríos, una para Yahveh, y otra para Azazel.
9 Aaron wil then take the goat on which the lot "For Yahweh" has fal en, and offer it as a sacrifice for sin.	9 Presentará el macho cabrío sobre el cual haya caído la suerte «para Yahveh» ofreciéndolo como sacrificio por el pecado.
10 But the goat on which the lot "For Azazel" has fal en, will be placed alive before Yahweh, for the riteof expiation to be performed with it, and for it then to be sent to Azazel in the desert.	10 El macho cabrío sobre el cual haya caído la suerte «para Azazel», lo colocará vivo delante de Yahveh para hacer sobre él la expiación y echarlo al desierto, para Azazel.
11 'Having offered the bul as a sacrifice for his own sin and performed the rite of expiation for himselfand for his family, and slaughtered the bul as a sacrifice for sin,	11 Entonces ofrecerá Aarón su novillo por el pecado para hacer expiación por sí mismo y por su casa, y lo inmolará.
12 Aaron wil then fill a censer with live coals from the altar before Yahweh, take two handfuls of finelyground aromatic incense and bring this inside the curtain.	12 Tomará después un incensario lleno de brasas tomadas del altar que está ante Yahveh y dos puñados de incienso aromático en polvo y, llevándolo detrás del velo,
13 He wil then put the incense on the fire before Yahweh, so that the cloud of incense hides the mercy-seat which is on the Testimony and he does not incur death.	13 pondrá el incienso sobre el fuego, delante de Yahveh, para que la nube del incienso envuelva el propiciatorio que está encima del Testimonio y él no muera.
14 He wil then take some of the bul 's blood and sprinkle it with his finger on the eastern side of themercy-seat. He will sprinkle some of the blood seven times with his finger in front of the mercy-seat.	14 Tomando luego la sangre del novillo, rociará con su dedo el lado oriental del propiciatorio, y con su dedo hará siete aspersiones de sangre delante del propiciatorio.
15 'He wil then slaughter the goat for the sacrifice for the sin of the people, and take its blood inside thecurtain, and with this blood do as he did with the blood of the bull, sprinkling it on the mercy-seat and in front ofit.	15 Después inmolará el macho cabrío como sacrificio por el pecado del pueblo y llevará su sangre detrás del velo, haciendo con su sangre lo que hizo con la sangre del novillo: rociará el propiciatorio y su parte anterior.
16 This is how he must perform the rite of expiation for the sanctuary for the uncleanness of theIsraelites, for their acts of rebel ion and al their sins. 'And this is what he must do for the Tent of Meeting whichremains with them, surrounded by their uncleanness.	16 Así purificará el santuario de las impurezas de los israelitas y de sus rebeldías en todos sus pecados. Lo mismo hará con la Tienda del Encuentro que mora con ellos en medio de sus impurezas.
17 No one must be inside the Tent of Meeting, from the moment he enters to make expiation in thesanctuary until the time he comes out. 'When he has made expiation for himself, for his family, and for the wholecommunity of Israel,	17 Nadie debe estar en la Tienda del Encuentro cuando Aarón entre a hacer la expiación dentro del santuario, hasta que salga. Después de haber hecho expiación por sí mismo, por su casa y por toda la asamblea de Israel,
18 he must come outside, go to the altar before Yahweh and perform the rite of expiation for it. He willtake some of the bul 's blood and some of the goat's blood and put it on the horns at the corners of the altar alaround it,	18 saldrá hacia el altar que se halla ante Yahveh, y hará por él expiación tomando sangre del novillo y del macho cabrío y untando los cuernos en torno del altar.
19 and sprinkle some of the blood on it seven times with his finger, thus purifying it and setting it apartfrom the uncleanness of the Israelites.	19 Hará sobre él con su dedo siete aspersiones de sangre, y así lo purificará y lo separará de las impurezas de los israelitas.
20 'Once expiation for the sanctuary, the Tent of Meeting and the altar is complete, he will bring the goatwhich is stil alive.	20 Acabada la expiación del santuario, de la Tienda del Encuentro y del altar, Aarón presentará el macho cabrío vivo.
21 Aaron wil then lay both his hands on its head and over it confess al the guilt of the Israelites, al theiracts of rebel ion and all their sins. Having thus laid them on the goat's head, he will send it out into the desertunder the charge of a man waiting ready,	21 Imponiendo ambas manos sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío vivo hará confesión sobre él de todas las iniquidades de los israelitas y de todas las rebeldías en todos los pecados de ellos y cargándolas sobre la cabeza del macho cabrío, lo enviará al desierto por medio de un hombre dispuesto para ello.
22 and the goat wil bear all their guilt away into some desolate place. 'When he has sent the goat intothe desert,	22 Así el macho cabrío llevará sobre sí todas las iniquidades de ellos, hacia una tierra árida; y soltará el macho cabrío en el desierto.
23 Aaron wil go back into the Tent of Meeting and take off the linen vestments which he wore to enterthe sanctuary and leave them there.	23 Luego entrará Aarón en la Tienda del Encuentro y, despojándose de las vestiduras de lino con que se había vestido al entrar en el santuario, las dejará allí;
24 He wil then wash his body inside the holy place, put on his vestments and come outside to offer hisown and the people's burnt offering. He wil perform the rite of expiation for himself and for the people,	24 lavará su cuerpo con agua en lugar sagrado y se pondrá sus vestiduras. Después saldrá y ofrecerá su holocausto y el holocausto del pueblo, hará la expiación por sí mismo y por el pueblo,
25 and burn the fat of the sacrifice for sin on the altar.	25 y quemará sobre el altar el sebo de la víctima por el pecado.
26 'The man who led the goat away to Azazel wil wash his clothes and body before entering the camp.	26 El hombre encargado de soltar el macho cabrío para Azazel lavará sus vestidos y bañará su cuerpo en agua; después de esto podrá entrar en el campamento.
27 The bul and the goat offered as a sacrifice for sin, the blood of which was taken into the sanctuary forthe rite of expiation, must be taken outside the camp, where their skin, meat and offal are to be burnt.	27 Del novillo del sacrificio por el pecado y del macho cabrío inmolado por el pecado, cuya sangre fue introducida en el santuario para hacer expiación, serán sacados fuera del campamento y quemados con fuego sus pieles, su carne y sus excrementos.
28 The man who burns them wil wash his clothes and body before entering the camp.	28 El que los queme lavará sus vestidos y se bañará en agua; después de esto podrá entrar en el campamento.
29 'This wil be a perpetual law for you. 'On the tenth day of the seventh month you will fast and refrainfrom work, both citizen and resident alien;	29 Será éste para vosotros un decreto perpetuo: En el mes séptimo, el día décimo del mes, ayunaréis, y no haréis trabajo alguno, ni el nativo ni el forastero que reside en medio de vosotros.
30 for this is the day on which the rite of expiation will be performed for you to purify you, to purify youbefore Yahweh from al your sins.	30 Porque en ese día se hará expiación por vosotros para purificaros. De todos vuestros pecados quedaréis limpios delante de Yahveh.
31 It wil be a sabbatical rest for you and you wil fast. This is a perpetual law.	31 Será para vosotros día de descanso completo, en el que habéis de ayunar: decreto perpetuo.
32 'The rite of expiation wil be performed by the priest who has been anointed and instal ed to officiatein succession to his father. He wil put on the linen vestments, the sacred vestments,	32 Hará la expiación el sacerdote ungido y de manos consagradas para ejercer el sacerdocio como sucesor de su padre: él se vestirá las vestiduras de lino, las vestiduras sagradas,
33 and perform the rite of expiation for the holy sanctuary, the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and wilthen perform the rite of expiation for the priests and al the people of the community.	33 y hará la expiación del santuario sagrado, de la Tienda del Encuentro y del altar. El hará también la expiación por los sacerdotes y por todo el pueblo de la asamblea.
34 This wil be a perpetual law for you; once a year the rite of expiation wil be made for the Israelites foral their sins.' And as Yahweh ordered Moses, so it was done.	34 Tendréis esto como decreto perpetuo: hacer la expiación por los israelitas, por todos sus pecados, una vez al año. Y se hizo como Yahveh había mandado a Moisés.
