Sirach 35

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 One who keeps the Law multiplies offerings; one who fol ows the commandments offers communionsacrifices.	1 Aki megtartja a törvényt, gyakran áldoz;
2 Proof of gratitude is an offering of fine flour, almsgiving a sacrifice of praise.	2 békeáldozat, ha valaki ügyel a parancsokra, és távol tartja magát minden gonoszságtól.
3 To abandon wickedness is what pleases the Lord, to give up wrong-doing is an expiatory sacrifice.	3 Vétségért engesztelő áldozat és bocsánatkérés a bűnért, ha valaki jogsértéstől tartózkodik.
4 Do not appear empty-handed in the Lord's presence; for all these things are due under thecommandment.	4 Lisztlángot áldoz, aki szeretetet tanúsít, és hálaáldozatot mutat be, aki alamizsnát osztogat.
5 The offering of the upright graces the altar, and its savour rises before the Most High.	5 Az Úrnak tetsző adomány: otthagyni a gonoszságot, és engesztelés a bűnökért: tartózkodni a jogsértéstől.
6 The sacrifice of the upright is acceptable, its memorial wil not be forgotten.	6 Ne jelenj meg az Úr színe előtt üres kézzel,
7 Honour the Lord with generosity, do not stint the first-fruits you bring.	7 mert Isten parancsa miatt kell történni mindezeknek.
8 Add a smiling face to al your gifts, and be cheerful as you dedicate your tithes.	8 Az igaz áldozata juttat zsíros húst az oltárra, és gyönyörűséges illat az a Magasságbeli színe előtt!
9 Give to the Most High as he has given to you, as generously as your means can afford;	9 Kedves az igaz áldozata, meg nem feledkezik az Úr az ő emlékeztető áldozatáról.
10 for the Lord is a good rewarder, he wil reward you seven times over.	10 Jó lélekkel tiszteld Istent, és ne vonj el semmit kezed adományából!
11 Do not try to bribe him with presents, he wil not accept them, do not put your faith in wronglymotivated sacrifices;	11 Minden adományodnál vidám legyen arcod, és örömmel ajánld fel tizedeidet!
12 for the Lord is a judge who is utterly impartial.	12 Úgy adj a Magasságbelinek, ahogy ő ad neked, add jó lélekkel, amennyire kezedből telik,
13 He never shows partiality to the detriment of the poor, he listens to the plea of the injured party.	13 Mert az Úr megfizet, hétannyit ad neked helyette.
14 He does not ignore the orphan's supplication, nor the widow's as she pours out her complaint.	14 Ne jöjj silány áldozattal, mert az nem kell neki,
15 Do the widow's tears not run down her cheeks, as she accuses the man who is the cause of them?	15 és ne várj semmit igaztalan áldozattól, mert az Úr igaz bíró, és nincs nála személyválogatás.
16 Whoever wholeheartedly serves God will be accepted, his petitions wil carry to the clouds.	16 Nem nézi az Úr a személyt a szegénnyel szemben, és meghallgatja az elnyomott esdeklését.
17 The prayer of the humble pierces the clouds: and until it does, he is not to be consoled,	17 Nem veti meg az árva könyörgését, de az özvegyét sem, ha kiönti panaszszavát.
18 nor wil he desist until the Most High takes notice of him, acquits the upright and delivers judgement.	18 Nemde az özvegynek könnyek peregnek arcán, és panaszt tesznek az ellen, aki fakasztotta őket!
19 And the Lord will not be slow, nor wil he be dilatory on their behalf,	19 Arcáról ugyanis felszállnak az égbe, s az Úr, aki meghallgatja őket, nem leli kedvét bennük.
20 until he has crushed the loins of the merciless and exacted vengeance on the nations,	20 Aki készséges lélekkel imádja Istent, elfogadásra talál, és könyörgése a felhőkig ér.
21 until he has eliminated the hordes of the arrogant and broken the sceptres of the wicked,	21 A megalázkodó imádsága áthatol a felhőkön, és meg nem nyugszik, amíg oda nem jut, nem tágít, amíg a Magasságbeli rá nem tekint.
22 until he has repaid al people as their deeds deserve and human actions as their intentions merit,	22 Az Úr nem is késlekedik, hanem igazságot szolgáltat az igazaknak, és ítéletet mond. A Hős nem türtőzteti magát velük szemben, amíg össze nem zúzza hátukat,
23 until he has judged the case of his people and made them rejoice in his mercy.	23 és meg nem fizet a népeknek, amíg el nem űzi a gőgösök seregét, és össze nem töri az igaztalanok kormánypálcáját,
24 Mercy is welcome in time of trouble, like rain clouds in time of drought.	24 amíg meg nem fizet az embereknek tetteik szerint, az ember cselekedetei és vakmerősége szerint,
	25 amíg igazságot nem tesz népének, és meg nem örvendezteti az igazakat irgalmával.
	26 Gyönyörűséges az Isten irgalma az elnyomás idején, mint az esőt hozó felhők szárazság idején.
