Sirach 24

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Wisdom speaks her own praises, in the midst of her people she glories in herself.	1 La sapienza si leverà da sè e in Dio si darà onore, e in mezzo al suo popolo si glorierà.
2 She opens her mouth in the assembly of the Most High, she glories in herself in the presence of theMighty One:	2 E nell'assemblea dell'Altissimo aprirà la sua bocca, e al cospetto delle sue schiere si glorierà.
3 'I came forth from the mouth of the Most High, and I covered the earth like mist.	3 E in mezzo al suo popolo sarà esaltata, e nella comunità santa sarà ammirata,
4 I had my tent in the heights, and my throne was a pillar of cloud.	4 e nella moltitudine degli eletti avrà lode, e tra i benedetti sarà benedetta, dicendo:
5 Alone, I have made the circuit of the heavens and walked through the depths of the abyss.	5 «Io uscii dalla bocca dell'Altissimo, primogenita avanti ad ogni creatura.
6 Over the waves of the sea and over the whole earth, and over every people and nation I have heldsway.	6 Io feci sorger nel ciclo una luce indefettibile, e a mo'di nebbia coprii tutta la terra.
7 Among all these I searched for rest, and looked to see in whose territory I might pitch camp.	7 Nell'empireo presi dimora, e il mio trono fu sur una colonna di nube.
8 Then the Creator of all things instructed me and he who created me fixed a place for my tent. He said,"Pitch your tent in Jacob, make Israel your inheritance."	8 L'orbita del cielo percorsi lo sola, e penetrai nelle profondità dell'oceano, e sui flutti del mare passeggiai,
9 From eternity, in the beginning, he created me, and for eternity I shal remain.	9 e su tutta la terra posi piede. E sovra ogni popolo
10 In the holy tent I ministered before him and thus became established in Zion.	10 e ogni nazione io ebbi l'impero,
11 In the beloved city he has given me rest, and in Jerusalem I wield my authority.	11 e de' grandi tutti e de' piccoli soggiogai i cuori con la potenza. E tra essi tutti cercai un luogo di riposo, e in quale de' loro dominii stabilir dimora.
12 I have taken root in a privileged people, in the Lord's property, in his inheritance.	12 Allora comandò e parlò a me il creatore di tutte le cose, e quegli che m'aveva creato diede stabile posa alla mia tenda.
13 I have grown tall as a cedar on Lebanon, as a cypress on Mount Hermon;	13 E mi disse: - Dimora presso Giacobbe, e in Israele abbi la tua eredità, e tra i mei eletti metti radice! -
14 I have grown tall as a palm in En-Gedi, as the rose bushes of Jericho; as a fine olive in the plain, as aplane tree, I have grown tal .	14 Da principio e prima do'secoli io fui creata, e sino all'eternità non verrò meno. Nel santo tabernacolo, al suo cospetto, esercitai il ministero,
15 Like cinnamon and acanthus, I have yielded a perfume, like choice myrrh, have breathed out a scent,like galbanum, onycha, labdanum, like the smoke of incense in the tent.	15 e in Sion, così, mi stabilii. Nella città santa parimenti, trovai posa, e in Gerusalemme è la sede della mia potenza.
16 I have spread my branches like a terebinth, and my branches are glorious and graceful.	16 E misi radici nel popolo glorioso, e nella porzione del mio Signore, [nella] sua eredità; e nella moltitudine de' santi è la mia dimura.
17 I am like a vine putting out graceful shoots, my blossoms bear the fruit of glory and wealth.	17 Qual cedro del Libano, m'inalzai, e come un cipresso sul monte Sion.
18	18 Quasi palma in Cades m'inalzai, e quale rosaio in Gerico.
19 Approach me, you who desire me, and take your fil of my fruits,	19 Come bell'ulivo ne' campi, e come platano m'inalzai presso l'acqua nelle piazze.
20 for memories of me are sweeter than honey, inheriting me is sweeter than the honeycomb.	20 Come cinnamomo e balsamo aromatico mandai odore, e quasi scelta mirra spirai fragranza soave.
21 They who eat me wil hunger for more, they who drink me will thirst for more.	21 E come storace e galbano e onice e mirra stillante e come incenso non inciso profumai la mia casa, e quasi balsamo senza mistura è l'odor mio.
22 No one who obeys me wil ever have to blush, no one who acts as I dictate wil ever sin.'	22 Come un terebinto distesi i miei rami, e i miei rami son rami di gloria e di grazia.
23 Al this is no other than the Book of the Covenant of the Most High God, the Law that Moses enjoinedon us, an inheritance for the communities of Jacob.	23 Come una vite feci sbocciare soavità di profumo, e 1imiei fiori [divennero] frutti di gloria e di ricchezza
24	24 Io son la madre del bello amore, del timore e della scienza e della santa speranza.
25 This is what makes wisdom brim over like the Pishon, like the Tigris in the season of fruit,	25 In me è ogni grazia di via e di verità, in me ogni speranza di vita e di virtù.
26 what makes intel igence overflow like the Euphrates, like the Jordan at harvest time;	26 Venite a me, o voi tutti che mi desiderate, e saziatevi de' miei frutti.
27 and makes discipline flow like the Nile, like the Gihon when the grapes are harvested.	27 Perchè il pensare a me è dolce più del miele, e il possedermi, più del miele e del favo:
28 The first man did not finish discovering about her, nor has the most recent tracked her down;	28 la mia memoria si perpetuerà nelle successioni de' secoli.
29 for her thoughts are wider than the sea, and her designs more profound than the abyss.	29 Quel che mi mangiano, avranno ancor fame, e quei che mi bevono, avranno sete ancora.
30 And I, like a conduit from a river, like a watercourse running into a garden,	30 Chi mi ascolta, non avrà da arrossire, e quei che operano servendosi di me, non peccheranno:
31 I said, 'I am going to water my orchard, I intend to irrigate my flower beds.' And see, my conduit hasgrown into a river, and my river has grown into a sea.	31 quelli che mi mettono in luce, avran la vita eterna ».
32 Making discipline shine forth from daybreak, I shal send its light far and wide.	32 Tutto ciò è il libro di vita, e l'Alleanza dell'Altissimo, e la conoscenza della verità.
33 I shal pour out teaching like prophecy, as a legacy to al future generations.	33 Mosè promulgò la legge del giusti comandamenti, eredità per la casa di Giacobbe e promessa per Israele.
34 And note, I have been working not merely for myself, but for al who are seeking wisdom.	34 Promise [Dio] a David suo servo di far nascer da lui un re potentissimo, che sul trono di gloria sederebbe in eterno.
	35 Essa fa traboccar la sapienza come il Fison, e come il Tigri, a' giorni de' [frutti] nuovi;
	36 fa rigurgitar l'intelligenza come l'Eufrate, e s'ingrossa come il Giordano al tempo della mèsse;
	37 dà fuori la scienza come il Nilo, come il Geon al tempo della vendemmia.
	38 Il primo [a studiarla] non la conobbe perfettamente, e l'ultimo non potrà scrutarla.
	39 Perchè più vasto del mare è il pensiero di lei, e i suoi consigli più profondi del grand'oceano.
	40 Io, la sapienza, effusi fiumi.
	41 Io quasi un corso d'immensa acqua [derivato] da un fiume, io quasi un canale di fiume e come un acquedotto uscii dal paradiso.
	42 Dissi: « Irrigherò il mio giardino di piante, e darò a bere al frutto del mio prato ».
	43 Ed ecco il mio corso [d'acqua] è diventato [un fiume] grosso, e il mio fiume è s'è fatto quasi un mare.
	44 Come l'aurora farò rilucere per tutti la dottrina, e l'annunzierò fin nelle terre lontane.
	45 Penetrerò tutte le profondità della terra, e visiterò i dormienti, e illuminerò tutti quelli che sperano nel Signore.
	46 Spanderò ancora la dottrina come una profezia e la lascerò a quelli che cercano la sapienza e non smetterò [di tramandarla] nella posterità loro sino al secolo santo.
	47 Vedete che non per me solo ho lavorato ma per tutti quelli che cercan la verità.
