NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
-I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the val eys.1 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
-As a lily among the thistles, so is my beloved among girls.2 As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
-As an apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my love among young men. In his delightful shadeI sit, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.3 As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
He has taken me to his cel ar, and his banner over me is love.4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
Feed me with raisin cakes, restore me with apples, for I am sick with love.5 Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.
His left arm is under my head, his right embraces me.6 His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.
-I charge you, daughters of Jerusalem, by al gazel es and wild does, do not rouse, do not wake mybeloved before she pleases.7 I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.
BELOVED: I hear my love. See how he comes leaping on the mountains, bounding over the hills.8 The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.
My love is like a gazel e, like a young stag. See where he stands behind our wal . He looks in at thewindow, he peers through the opening.9 My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.
My love lifts up his voice, he says to me, 'Come then, my beloved, my lovely one, come.10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
For see, winter is past, the rains are over and gone.11 For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;
'Flowers are appearing on the earth. The season of glad songs has come, the cooing of the turtledoveis heard in our land.12 The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
The fig tree is forming its first figs and the blossoming vines give out their fragrance. Come then, mybeloved, my lovely one, come.13 The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
'My dove, hiding in the clefts of the rock, in the coverts of the cliff, show me your face, let me hear yourvoice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.'14 O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.
Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that make havoc of the vineyards, for our vineyards are in fruit.15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
My love is mine and I am his. He pastures his flock among the lilies.16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.
Before the day-breeze rises, before the shadows flee, return! Be, my love, like a gazel e, like a youngstag, on the mountains of Bether.17 Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.
