NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Then again, I contemplate al the oppression that is committed under the sun. Take for instance thetears of the oppressed. No one to comfort them! The power their oppressors wield. No one to comfort them!	1 Yo me volví a considerar todas las violencias perpetradas bajo el sol: vi el llanto de los oprimidos, sin tener quien los consuele; la violencia de sus verdugos, sin tener quien los vengue.
2 So, rather than the living who stil have lives to live, I congratulate the dead who have already metdeath;	2 Felicité a los muertos que ya perecieron, más que a los vivos que aún viven.
3 happier than both of these are those who are yet unborn and have not seen the evil things that are doneunder the sun.	3 Más feliz aún que entrambos es aquel que aún no ha existido, que no ha visto la iniquidad que se comete bajo el sol.
4 I see that al effort and all achievement spring from mutual jealousy. This too is futility and chasing afterthe wind.	4 He visto que todo afán y todo éxito en una obra excita la envidia del uno contra el otro. También esto es vanidad y atrapar vientos.
5 The fool folds his arms and eats his own flesh away.	5 El necio se cruza de manos, y devora su carne.
6 Better one hand full of repose than two hands ful of achievements to chase after the wind.	6 Más vale llenar un puñado con reposo que dos puñados con fatiga en atrapar vientos.
7 And something else futile I observe under the sun:	7 Volví de nuevo a considerar otra vanidad bajo el sol:
8 a person is quite alone -- no child, no brother; and yet there is no end to his efforts, his eyes can neverhave their fil of riches. For whom, then, do I work so hard and grudge myself pleasure? This too is futile, a sorry business.	8 a saber, un hombre solo, sin sucesor, sin hijos ni hermano; sin límite a su fatiga, sin que sus ojos se harten de riqueza. «Mas ¿para quién me fatigo y privo a mi vida de felicidad?» También esto es vanidad y mal negocio.
9 Better two than one alone, since thus their work is real y rewarding.	9 Más valen dos que uno solo, pues obtienen mayor ganancia de su esfuerzo.
10 If one should fal , the other helps him up; but what of the person with no one to help him up when hefal s?	10 Pues si cayeren, el uno levantará a su compañero; pero ¡ay del solo que cae!, que no tiene quien lo levante.
11 Again: if two sleep together they keep warm, but how can anyone keep warm alone?	11 Si dos se acuestan, tienen calor; pero el solo ¿cómo se calentará?
12 Where one alone would be overcome, two wil put up resistance; and a threefold cord is not quicklybroken.	12 Si atacan a uno, los dos harán frente. La cuerda de tres hilos no es fácil de romper.
13 Better a youngster poor and wise than a monarch old and sil y who wil no longer take advice-	13 Más vale mozo pobre y sabio que rey viejo y necio, que no sabe ya consultar.
14 even though stepping from prison to the throne, even though born a beggar in that kingdom.	14 Pues de prisión salió quien llegó a reinar, aunque pobre en sus dominios naciera.
15 I observe that al who live and move under the sun support the young newcomer who takes over.	15 Veo a todos los vivientes que caminan bajo el sol, ponerse junto al mozo, el sucesor, el que ocupará su puesto.
16 He takes his place at the head of innumerable subjects; but his successors wil not think the morekindly of him for that. This too is futile and chasing after the wind.	16 Era sin fin la multitud a cuyo frente estaba; tampoco la posteridad se contentará de él. También esto es vanidad y atraper vientos.
17 Watch your step when you go to the House of God: drawing near to listen is better than the offering ofa sacrifice by fools, though they do not know that they are doing wrong.	17 Guarda tus pasos cuando vas a la Casa de Dios. Acercarse obediente vale más que el sacrificio de los necios, porque ellos no saben que hacen el mal.
