1 A false balance is abhorrent to Yahweh, a just weight is pleasing to him.	1 Le bilance false sono cosa abbominevole al Signore; Ma il peso giusto gli è cosa grata
2 Pride comes first; disgrace soon fol ows; with the humble is wisdom found.	2 Venuta la superbia, viene l’ignominia; Ma la sapienza è con gli umili
3 The honest have their own honesty for guidance, the treacherous are ruined by their own perfidy.	3 L’integrità degli uomini diritti li conduce; Ma la perversità de’ disleali di distrugge
4 In the day of retribution riches wil be useless, but uprightness delivers from death.	4 Le ricchezze non gioveranno al giorno dell’indegnazione; Ma la giustizia riscoterà da morte
5 The uprightness of the good makes their way straight, the wicked fal by their own wickedness.	5 La giustizia dell’uomo intiero addirizza la via di esso; Ma l’empio caderà per la sua empietà.
6 Their uprightness sets the honest free, the treacherous are imprisoned by their own desires.	6 La giustizia degli uomini diritti li riscoterà; Ma i disleali saranno presi per la lor propria malizia
7 The hope of the wicked perishes with death, hope placed in riches comes to nothing.	7 Quando l’uomo empio muore, la sua aspettazione perisce; E la speranza ch’egli aveva concepita delle sue forze è perduta
8 The upright escapes affliction, the wicked incurs it instead.	8 Il giusto è tratto fuor di distretta; Ma l’empio viene in luogo suo
9 Through his mouth the godless is the ruin of his neighbour, but by knowledge the upright aresafeguarded.	9 L’ipocrito corrompe il suo prossimo con la sua bocca; Ma i giusti ne son liberati per conoscimento
10 When the upright prosper the city rejoices, when the wicked are ruined there is a shout of joy.	10 La città festeggia del bene de’ giusti; Ma vi è giubilo quando gli empi periscono.
11 A city is raised on the blessing of the honest, and demolished by the mouth of the wicked.	11 La città è innalzata per la benedizione degli uomini diritti; Ma è sovvertita per la bocca degli empi
12 Whoever looks down on a neighbour lacks good sense; the intelligent keeps a check on the tongue.	12 Chi sprezza il suo prossimo è privo di senno; Ma l’uomo prudente tace.
13 A tittle-tattler lets secrets out, the trustworthy keeps things hidden.	13 Colui che va sparlando palesa il segreto; Ma chi è leale di spirito cela la cosa
14 For want of leadership a people perishes, safety lies in many advisers.	14 Il popolo cade in ruina dove non son consigli; Ma vi è salute in moltitudine di consiglieri
15 Whoever goes bail for a stranger does himself harm, but one who shuns going surety is safe.	15 L’uomo certamente sofferirà del male, se fa sicurtà per lo strano; Ma chi odia i mallevadori è sicuro
16 A gracious woman acquires honour, violent people acquire wealth.	16 La donna graziosa otterrà gloria, Come i possenti ottengono ricchezze
17 Faithful love brings its own reward, the inflexible injure their own selves.	17 L’uomo benigno fa bene a sè stesso; Ma il crudele conturba la sua propria carne
18 Disappointment crowns the labours of the wicked, whoever sows uprightness reaps a solid reward.	18 L’empio fa un’opera fallace; Ma vi è un premio sicuro per colui che semina giustizia
19 Whoever establishes uprightness is on the way to life, whoever pursues evil, on the way to death.	19 Così è la giustizia a vita, Come chi procaccia il male lo procaccia alla sua morte
20 Tortuous hearts are abhorrent to Yahweh, dear to him, those whose ways are blameless.	20 I perversi di cuore sono un abbominio al Signore; Ma quelli che sono intieri di via son ciò che gli è grato
21 Be sure of it, the wicked wil not go unpunished, but the race of the upright wil come to no harm.	21 Il malvagio d’ora in ora non resterà impunito; Ma la progenie de’ giusti scamperà
22 A golden ring in the snout of a pig is a lovely woman who lacks discretion.	22 Una donna bella, ma scema di senno, È un monile d’oro nel grifo d’un porco
23 The hope of the upright is nothing but good, the expectation of the wicked is retribution.	23 Il desiderio de’ giusti non è altro che bene; Ma la speranza degli empi è indegnazione
24 One scatters money around, yet only adds to his wealth, another is excessively mean, but only growsthe poorer.	24 Vi è tale che spande, e pur vie più diventa ricco; E tale che risparmia oltre al diritto, e pur ne diventa sempre più povero
25 The soul who blesses wil prosper, whoever satisfies others wil also be satisfied.	25 La persona liberale sarà ingrassata; E chi annaffia sarà anch’esso annaffiato
26 The people's curse is on those who hoard the wheat, their blessing on the head of those who sel it.	26 Il popolo maledirà chi serra il grano; Ma benedizione sarà sopra il capo di chi lo vende
27 Whoever strives for good obtains favour, whoever looks for evil wil get an evil return.	27 Chi cerca il bene procaccia benevolenza; Ma il male avverrà a chi lo cerca
28 Whoever trusts in riches wil have a fal , the upright wil flourish like the leaves.	28 Chi si confida nelle sue ricchezze caderà; Ma i giusti germoglieranno a guisa di frondi
29 Whoever misgoverns a house inherits the wind, and the fool becomes slave to the wise.	29 Chi dissipa la sua casa possederà del vento; E lo stolto sarà servo a chi è savio di cuore
30 The fruit of the upright is a tree of life: the sage captivates souls.	30 Il frutto del giusto è un albero di vita; E il savio prende le anime
31 If here on earth the upright gets due reward, how much more the wicked and the sinner!	31 Ecco, il giusto riceve la sua retribuzione in terra; Quanto più la riceverà l’empio e il peccatore?
