2 You disperse them like smoke; as wax melts in the presence of a fire, so the wicked melt at thepresence of God.	2 Salvami, o Dio, perchè son penetrate le acque sino all'anima mia;
3 The upright rejoice in the presence of God, delighted and crying out for joy.	3 sono immerso nel fango profondoe non c'è un punto d'appoggio; son caduto in fondo al mare e la tempesta mi sommerge.
4 Sing to God, play music to his name, build a road for the Rider of the Clouds, rejoice in Yahweh,dance before him.	4 Mi son stancato a gridare, roca è la mia gola; si logorano i miei occhi nell'aspettare il mio Dio.
5 Father of orphans, defender of widows, such is God in his holy dwel ing.	5 Son più numerosi de' capelli del mio capoquei che m'odian senza motivo; forti sono i miei nemici che ingiustamente mi perseguitano: quel che non ho rapito, mi tocca restituire!
6 God gives the lonely a home to live in, leads prisoners out into prosperity, but rebels must live in thebare wastelands.	6 O Dio, tu sai la mia stoltezza, e i miei falli non ti son nascosti.
7 God, when you set out at the head of your people, when you strode over the desert,	7 Non arrossiscan per mequei che sperano in te, o Signore, Signore degli eserciti!non sian svergognati a motivo di mequei che ti cercano, o Dio d'Israele!
8 the earth rocked,Pause the heavens pelted down rain at the presence of God, at the presence of God,the God of Israel.	8 Giacchè per te io sopporto l'obbrobrio, e la vergogna copre il mio volto.

11 The Lord gave a command, the good news of a countless army.	11 Ho afflitto col digiuno l'anima mia, e n'è derivato obbrobrio per me:

15 A mountain of God, the mountain of Bashan! a haughty mountain, the mountain of Bashan!	15 Tirami su dal fango, ch'io non affondi; liberami dai quei che m'odiano e dalla profondità delle acque.
16 Why be envious, haughty mountains, of the mountain God has chosen for his dwel ing? There Godwil dwell for ever.	16 Non mi sommerga la tempesta de' flutti, nè m'ingoi la voragine, e non serri su mela fossa la sua bocca.
17 The chariots of God are thousand upon thousand; God has come from Sinai to the sanctuary.	17 Esaudiscimi, o Signore, perchè la tua pietà è benigna: secondo la moltitudine delle tue misericordie china lo sguardo su me!
18 You have climbed the heights, taken captives, you have taken men as tribute, even rebels thatYahweh God might have a dwelling-place.	18 Non voltar la faccia dal tuo servo; poichè son nell'angustia, affrettati ad esaudirmi!
19 Blessed be the Lord day after day, he carries us along, God our Saviour.Pause	19 Vieni all'anima mia e liberala: per via de' miei nemici, salvami!
20 This God of ours is a God who saves; from Lord Yahweh comes escape from death;	20 Tu sai il mio obbrobrio, la mia vergogna e l'ignominia mia:
21 but God smashes the head of his enemies, the long-haired skul of the prowling criminal.	21 al tuo cospetto son tutti i miei persecutori. L'oltraggio ha spezzato il mio cuore e sono affranto. E ho atteso chi s'attristasse con me e non c' è stato, e chi mi consolasse e non l'ho trovato.
22 The Lord has said, 'I wil bring them back from Bashan, I wil bring them back from the depths of thesea,	22 E fiele m'ha dato per cibo, e nella mia sete m'hanno abbeverato d'aceto.
23 so that you may bathe your feet in blood, and the tongues of your dogs feast on your enemies.'	23 La loro mensa diventi dinanzi ad essi un laccioe un castigo e una pietra d'inciampo.
24 Your processions, God, are for all to see, the processions of my God, of my king, to the sanctuary;	24 Si offuschino i loro occhi, sì da non vederci [più], e il loro dorso tieni curvo sempre.
25 singers ahead, musicians behind, in the middle come girls, beating their drums.	25 Versa su loro l'ira tuae il furore dell'ira tua gli afferri!
26 In choirs they bless God, Yahweh, since the foundation of Israel.	26 Sia desolata la loro casae sotto le tende loro non ci sia chi abiti.
27 Benjamin was there, the youngest in front, the princes of Judah in bright-coloured robes, the princesof Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.	27 Perchè colui che tu avevi colpito, essi han perseguitato, e il dolor delle mie piaghe [hanno accresciuto].
28 Take command, my God, as befits your power, the power, God, which you have wielded for us,	28 Aggiungi iniquità alla loro iniquità, e non abbiamo accesso alla tua giustizia.
29 from your temple high above Jerusalem. Kings wil come to you bearing tribute.	29 Sian cancellati dal libro de' viventi, e tra i giusti non siano iscritti!
30 Rebuke the Beast of the Reeds, that herd of bul s, that people of calves, who bow down with ingotsof silver. Scatter the people who delight in war.	30 Io son misero e dolente; il tuo soccorso salutare, o Dio, mi sollevi!
31 From Egypt nobles wil come, Ethiopia wil stretch out its hands to God.	31 Celebrerò il nome di Dio con un cantico, lo magnificherò con una laude.
32 Kingdoms of the earth, sing to God, play for	32 E piacerà [questo] a Dio più d'un giovenco, [più d'un] giovane [toro], che ha messo corna e unghie.
33 the Rider of the Heavens, the primeval heavens.Pause There he speaks, with a voice of power!	33 Vedano i miseri e s'allietino;[e voi che] cercate Dio, riviva l'anima vostra!
34 Acknowledge the power of God. Over Israel his splendour, in the clouds his power.	34 Perchè ascolta i miseri il Signore, e i suoi prigionieri non disprezza.
35 Awesome is God in his sanctuary. He, the God of Israel, gives strength and power to his people.Blessed be God.	35 Dian lode a lui i cieli e la terra, il mare e tutto quanto in esso si muove!
	36 Perchè Dio salverà Sione saran riedificate le città di Giuda, e vi abiteranno e la rioccuperanno:
	37 e la stirpe de' suoi servi la possederà, e que' che amano il suo nome vi dimoreranno!
