NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Listen, God, to my voice as I plead, protect my life from fear ofthe enemy;	1 Al maestro di coro. Salmo. Di Davide.
2 hide me from the league of the wicked, from the gang of evil-doers.	2 Ascolta, o Dio, la mia voce, mentre a te dirigo il mio lamento; dal terrore del nemico preserva la mia vita;
3 They sharpen their tongues like a sword, aim their arrows of poisonous abuse,	3 proteggimi dall'assemblea dei malvagi, dalla turbolenta congrega dei malfattori.
4 shoot at the innocent from cover, shoot suddenly, with nothing to fear.	4 Poiché affilano la loro lingua come una spada, scagliano le loro frecce, parole acerbe,
5 They support each other in their evil designs, they discuss how to lay their snares. 'Who wil see us?'they say,	5 per colpire di nascosto l'innocente; all'improvviso lo colpiscono senza alcun timore.
6 'or wil penetrate our secrets?' He wil do that, he who penetrates human nature to its depths, thedepths of the heart.	6 Si fanno forti del loro agire perverso; si mettono d'accordo nel nascondere tranelli, dicendo: "Chi li vede?".
7 God has shot them with his arrow, sudden were their wounds.	7 Essi fanno progetti perversi, hanno messo a punto un disegno ben fatto. Un baratro è l'uomo e il suo cuore un abisso!
8 He brings them down because of their tongue, and al who see them shake their heads.	8 Ma Dio ha scagliato contro di loro le sue frecce: improvvisamente sono apparse le loro ferite.
9 Everyone wil be awestruck, proclaim what God has done, and understand why he has done it.	9 Li ha fatti cadere con le loro stesse lingue e tutti al vederli scuotevano la testa.
10 The upright wil rejoice in Yahweh, wil take refuge in him, and al the honest wil praise him.	10 Presi da timore, tutti gli uomini hanno annunciato l'operato di Dio, hanno riconosciuto ciò che lui ha fatto.
	11 S'allieti il giusto nel Signore e speri in lui, e si glorino tutti i retti di cuore.
