1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Listen, God, to my voice as I plead, protect my life from fear ofthe enemy;	1 Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici O DIO, ascolta la mia voce, mentre io fo la mia orazione; Guarda la vita mia dallo spavento del nemico.
2 hide me from the league of the wicked, from the gang of evil-doers.	2 Nascondimi dal consiglio de’ maligni, E dalla turba degli operatori d’iniquità;
3 They sharpen their tongues like a sword, aim their arrows of poisonous abuse,	3 I quali hanno aguzzata la lor lingua come una spada; E in luogo di saette, hanno tratte parole amare;
4 shoot at the innocent from cover, shoot suddenly, with nothing to fear.	4 Per saettar l’uomo intiero in luoghi nascosti; Di subito improvviso lo saettano, e non hanno timore alcuno.
5 They support each other in their evil designs, they discuss how to lay their snares. 'Who wil see us?'they say,	5 Fermano fra loro pensieri malvagi; Divisano di tender di nascosto lacci, Dicono: Chi li vedrà?
6 'or wil penetrate our secrets?' He wil do that, he who penetrates human nature to its depths, thedepths of the heart.	6 Investigano malizie; ricercano tutto ciò che si può investigare; E quanto può l’interior dell’uomo, ed un cuor cupo
7 God has shot them with his arrow, sudden were their wounds.	7 Ma Iddio li saetterà; Le lor ferite saranno come di saetta subitanea.
8 He brings them down because of their tongue, and al who see them shake their heads.	8 E le lor lingue saranno traboccate sopra loro; Chiunque li vedrà fuggirà.
9 Everyone wil be awestruck, proclaim what God has done, and understand why he has done it.	9 E tutti gli uomini temeranno, E racconteranno l’opera di Dio; E considereranno quello ch’egli avrà fatto.
10 The upright wil rejoice in Yahweh, wil take refuge in him, and al the honest wil praise him.	10 Il giusto si rallegrerà nel Signore, e spererà in lui; E tutti quelli che son diritti di cuore, si glorieranno
