Psalms 18

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [For the choirmaster Of David, the servant of Yahweh, who addressed the words of this song toYahweh when Yahweh had delivered him from all his enemies and from the clutches of Saul. He said:] I loveyou, Yahweh, my strength (my Saviour, you have saved me from violence).	1 Del maestro de coro. De David, el servidor del Señor, que dirigió al Señor las palabras de este canto, cuando él lo libró de todos sus enemigos y de las manos de Saúl.
2 Yahweh is my rock and my fortress, my deliverer is my God. I take refuge in him, my rock, my shield,my saving strength, my stronghold, my place of refuge.	2 Dijo: Yo te amo, Señor, mi fuerza,
3 I call to Yahweh who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my foes.	3 Señor, mi Roca, mi fortaleza y mi libertador, mi Dios, el peñasco en que me refugio, mi escudo, mi fuerza salvadora, mi baluarte.
4 With Death's breakers closing in on me, Belial's torrents ready to swal ow me,	4 Invoqué al Señor, que es digno de alabanza y quedé a salvo de mis enemigos.
5 Sheol's snares every side of me, Death's traps lying ahead of me,	5 Las olas de la Muerte me envolvieron, me aterraron los torrentes devastadores,
6 I called to Yahweh in my anguish, I cried for help to my God; from his Temple he heard my voice, mycry came to his ears.	6 me cercaron los lazos del Abismo, las redes de la Muerte llegaron hasta mí,
7 Then the earth quaked and rocked, the mountains' foundations shuddered, they quaked at his blazinganger.	7 Pero en mi angustia invoqué al Señor, grité a mi Dios pidiendo auxilio, y él escuchó mi voz desde su Templo, mi grito llegó hasta sus oídos.
8 Smoke rose from his nostrils, from his mouth devouring fire (coals were kindled at it).	8 Entonces tembló y se tambaleó la tierra; vacilaron los fundamentos de las montañas, y se conmovieron a causa de su furor;
9 He parted the heavens and came down, a storm-cloud underneath his feet;	9 de su nariz se alzó una humareda, de su boca, un fuego abrasador, y arrojaba carbones encendidos.
10 riding one of the winged creatures, he flew, soaring on the wings of the wind.	10 El Señor inclinó el cielo, y descendió con un espeso nubarrón bajo sus pies;
11 His covering he made the darkness, his pavilion dark waters and dense cloud.	11 montó en el Querubín y emprendió vuelo, planeando sobre las alas del viento.
12 A brightness lit up before him, hail and blazing fire.	12 Se envolvió en un manto de tinieblas; un oscuro aguacero y espesas nubes lo cubrían como un toldo;
13 Yahweh thundered from the heavens, the Most High made his voice heard.	13 las nubes se deshicieron en granizo y centellas al fulgor de su presencia.
14 He shot his arrows and scattered them, he hurled his lightning and routed them.	14 El Señor tronaba desde el cielo, el Altísimo hacía oír su voz;
15 The very springs of ocean were exposed, the world's foundations were laid bare, at your roaring,Yahweh, at the blast of breath from your nostrils!	15 arrojó sus flechas y los dispersó, multiplicó sus rayos y sembró la confusión.
16 He reached down from on high, snatched me up, pulled me from the watery depths,	16 Al proferir tus amenazas, Señor, al soplar el vendaval de tu ira, aparecieron los cauces del mar y quedaron a la vista los cimientos.
17 rescued me from my mighty foe, from my enemies who were stronger than I.	17 El tendió su mano desde lo alto y me tomó, me sacó de las aguas caudalosas;
18 They assailed me on my day of disaster but Yahweh was there to support me;	18 me libró de mi enemigo poderoso, de adversarios más fuertes que yo.
19 he freed me, set me at large, he rescued me because he loves me.	19 Ellos me enfrentaron en un día nefasto, pero el Señor fue mi apoyo:
20 Yahweh rewards me for my uprightness, as my hands are pure, so he repays me,	20 me sacó a un lugar espacioso, me libró, porque me ama.
21 since I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and not fallen away from my God.	21 El Señor me recompensó por mi justicia, me retribuyó por la inocencia de mis manos:
22 His judgements are al before me, his statutes I have not put away from me.	22 porque seguí fielmente los caminos del Señor, y no me aparté de mi Dios, haciendo el mal;
23 I am blameless before him, I keep myself clear of evil.	23 porque tengo presente todas sus decisiones y nunca me alejé de sus preceptos.
24 So Yahweh repaid me for acting uprightly because he could see I was pure.	24 Tuve ante él una conducta irreprochable y me esforcé por no ofenderlo.
25 You are faithful to the faithful, blameless with the blameless,	25 El Señor me premió, porque yo era justo y mis manos eran inocentes a sus ojos.
26 sincere to the sincere, but cunning to the crafty,	26 Tú eres bondadoso con los buenos y eres íntegro con el hombre intachable;
27 you save a people that is humble and humiliate those with haughty looks.	27 eres sincero con los que son sinceros y te muestras astuto con los falsos.
28 Yahweh, you yourself are my lamp, my God lights up my darkness;	28 Porque tú salvas al pueblo oprimido y humillas los ojos altaneros;
29 with you I storm the rampart, with my God I can scale any wal .	29 tú eres mi lámpara, Señor; Dios mío, tú iluminas mis tinieblas.
30 This God, his way is blameless; the word of Yahweh is refined in the furnace, for he alone is theshield of al who take refuge in him.	30 Contigo puedo asaltar una muralla; con mi Dios, puedo escalar cualquier muralla.
31 For who is God but Yahweh, who is a rock but our God?	31 El camino de Dios es perfecto, la promesa del Señor es digna de confianza. El Señor es un escudo para los que se refugian en él,
32 This God who girds me with strength, who makes my way free from blame,	32 porque ¿quién es Dios fuera del Señor? ¿y quién es la Roca fuera de nuestro Dios?
33 who makes me as swift as a deer and sets me firmly on the heights,	33 El es el Dios que me ciñe de valor y hace intachable mi camino;
34 who trains my hands for battle, my arms to bend a bow of bronze.	34 el que me da la rapidez de un ciervo y me afianza en las alturas;
35 You give me your invincible shield (your right hand upholds me) you never cease to listen to me,	35 el que adiestra mis manos para la guerra y mis brazos para tender el arco de bronce.
36 you give me the strides of a giant, give me ankles that never weaken.	36 Me entregaste tu escudo victorioso y tu mano derecha me sostuvo: me engrandeciste con tu triunfo,
37 I pursue my enemies and overtake them, not turning back til they are annihilated;	37 me hiciste dar largos pasos, y no se doblaron mis tobillos.
38 I strike them down and they cannot rise, they fall, they are under my feet.	38 Perseguí y alcancé a mis enemigos, no me volví hasta que fueron aniquilados;
39 You have girded me with strength for the fight, bent down my assailants beneath me,	39 los derroté y no pudieron rehacerse, quedaron abatidos bajo mis pies.
40 made my enemies retreat before me; and those who hate me I destroy.	40 Tú me ceñiste de valor para la lucha, doblegaste ante mí a mis agresores;
41 They cry out, there is no one to save; to Yahweh, but no answer comes.	41 pusiste en fuga a mis enemigos, y yo exterminé a mis adversarios.
42 I crumble them like dust before the wind, trample them like the mud of the streets.	42 Imploraron, pero nadie los salvó; gritaban al Señor, pero no les respondía.
43 You free me from the quarrels of my people, you place me at the head of the nations, a people I didnot know are now my servants;	43 Los deshice como polvo barrido por el viento, los pisé como el barro de las calles.
44 foreigners come wooing my favour, no sooner do they hear than they obey me;	44 Tú me libraste de un ejército incontable y me pusiste al frente de naciones: pueblos extraños son mis vasallos.
45 foreigners grow faint of heart, they come trembling out of their fastnesses.	45 Gente extranjera me rinde pleitesía; apenas me oyen nombrar, me prestan obediencia.
46 Life to Yahweh! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be the God of my salvation,	46 Los extranjeros palidecen ante mí y, temblando, abandonan sus refugios.
47 the God who gives me vengeance, and subjects whole peoples to me,	47 ¡Viva el Señor! ¡Bendita sea mi Roca! ¡Glorificado sea el Dios de mi salvación,
48 who rescues me from my raging enemies. You lift me high above those who attack me, you deliverme from the man of violence.	48 el Dios que venga mis agravios y pone a los pueblos a mis pies!
49 For this I wil praise you, Yahweh, among the nations, and sing praise to your name.	49 Tú me liberas de mis enemigos, me haces triunfar de mis agresores y me libras del hombre violento.
50 He saves his king time after time, displays his faithful love for his anointed, for David and his heirs forever.	50 Por eso te alabaré entre las naciones y cantaré, Señor, en honor de tu Nombre.
	51 El concede grandes victorias a su rey y trata con fidelidad a su Ungido, a David y a su descendencia para siempre.
