NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 [Prayer Of David] Listen, Yahweh, to an upright cause, pay attention to my cry, lend an ear to myprayer, my lips free from deceit.	1 Prière. De David. Ecoute, Yahvé, la justice, sois attentif à mes cris; prête l'oreille à ma prière, pointde fraude sur mes lèvres.
2 From your presence wil issue my vindication, your eyes fixed on what is right.	2 De ta face sortira mon jugement, tes yeux regardent la droiture.
3 You probe my heart, examine me at night, you test me by fire and find no evil. I have not sinned with my mouth	3 Tu sondes mon coeur, tu me visites la nuit, tu m'éprouves sans rien trouver, aucun murmure enmoi: ma bouche n'a point péché
4 as most people do. I have treasured the word from your lips,	4 à la façon des hommes. La parole de tes lèvres, moi je l'ai gardée, aux sentiers prescrits
5 my steps never stray from the paths you lay down, from your tracks; so my feet never stumble.	5 attachant mes pas, à tes traces, que mes pieds ne trébuchent.
6 I call upon you, God, for you answer me; turn your ear to me, hear what I say.	6 Je suis là, je t'appelle, car tu réponds, ô Dieu! Tends l'oreille vers moi, écoute mes paroles,
7 Show the evidence of your faithful love, saviour of those who hope in your strength against attack.	7 signale tes grâces, toi qui sauves ceux qui recourent à ta droite contre les assaillants.
8 Guard me as the pupil of an eye, shelter me in the shadow of your wings	8 Garde-moi comme la prunelle de l'oeil, à l'ombre de tes ailes cache-moi
9 from the presence of the wicked who would maltreat me; deadly enemies are closing in on me.	9 aux regards de ces impies qui me ravagent; ennemis au fond de l'âme, ils me cernent.
10 Engrossed in themselves they are mouthing arrogant words.	10 Ils sont enfermés dans leur graisse, ils parlent, l'arrogance à la bouche.
11 They are advancing against me, now they are closing in, watching for the chance to hurl me to theground,	11 Ils marchent contre moi, maintenant ils m'encerclent, ils ont l'oeil sur moi pour me terrasser.
12 like a lion preparing to pounce, like a young lion crouching in ambush.	12 Leur apparence est d'un lion impatient d'arracher et d'un lionceau tapi dans sa cachette.
13 Arise, Yahweh, confront him and bring him down, with your sword save my life from the wicked,	13 Lève-toi, Yahvé, affronte-le, renverse-le, par ton épée délivre mon âme de l'impie,
14 Yahweh, from mortals, by your hand, from mortals whose part in life is in this world. You fill theirbellies from your store, their children wil have all they desire, and leave their surplus to their children.	14 des mortels, par ta main, Yahvé, des mortels qui, dans la vie, ont leur part de ce monde! Avec tesréserves tu leur rempliras le ventre, leurs fils seront rassasiés et ils laisseront le surplus à leurs enfants.
15 But I in my uprightness wil see your face, and when I awake I shal be fil ed with the vision of you.	15 Moi, dans la justice, je contemplerai ta face, au réveil je me rassasierai de ton image.
