Psalms 17

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [Prayer Of David] Listen, Yahweh, to an upright cause, pay attention to my cry, lend an ear to myprayer, my lips free from deceit.	1 Oración de David. Escucha, Señor, mi justa demanda, atiende a mi clamor; presta oído a mi plegaria, porque en mis labios no hay falsedad.
2 From your presence wil issue my vindication, your eyes fixed on what is right.	2 Tú me harás justicia, porque tus ojos ven lo que es recto:
3 You probe my heart, examine me at night, you test me by fire and find no evil. I have not sinned with my mouth	3 si examinas mi corazón y me visitas por las noches, si me pruebas al fuego, no encontrarás malicia en mí. Mi boca no se excedió
4 as most people do. I have treasured the word from your lips,	4 ante los malos tratos de los hombres; yo obedecí fielmente a tu palabra,
5 my steps never stray from the paths you lay down, from your tracks; so my feet never stumble.	5 y mis pies se mantuvieron firmes en los caminos señalados: ¡mis pasos nunca se apartaron de tus huellas!
6 I call upon you, God, for you answer me; turn your ear to me, hear what I say.	6 Yo te invoco, Dios mío, porque tú me respondes: inclina tu oído hacia mí y escucha mis palabras.
7 Show the evidence of your faithful love, saviour of those who hope in your strength against attack.	7 Muestra las maravillas de tu gracia, tú que salvas de los agresores a los que buscan refugio a tu derecha.
8 Guard me as the pupil of an eye, shelter me in the shadow of your wings	8 Protégeme como a la pupila de tus ojos; escóndeme a la sombra de tus alas
9 from the presence of the wicked who would maltreat me; deadly enemies are closing in on me.	9 de los malvados que me acosan, del enemigo mortal que me rodea.
10 Engrossed in themselves they are mouthing arrogant words.	10 Se han encerrado en su obstinación, hablan con arrogancia en los labios;
11 They are advancing against me, now they are closing in, watching for the chance to hurl me to theground,	11 sus pasos ya me tienen cercado, se preparan para derribarme por tierra,
12 like a lion preparing to pounce, like a young lion crouching in ambush.	12 como un león ávido de presa, como un cachorro agazapado en su guarida.
13 Arise, Yahweh, confront him and bring him down, with your sword save my life from the wicked,	13 Levántate, Señor, enfréntalo, doblégalo; líbrame de los malvados con tu espada,
14 Yahweh, from mortals, by your hand, from mortals whose part in life is in this world. You fill theirbellies from your store, their children wil have all they desire, and leave their surplus to their children.	14 y con tu mano, Señor, sálvame de los hombres: de los mortales que lo tienen todo en esta vida. Llénales el vientre con tus riquezas; que sus hijos también queden hartos y dejen el resto para los más pequeños.
15 But I in my uprightness wil see your face, and when I awake I shal be fil ed with the vision of you.	15 Pero yo, por tu justicia, contemplaré tu rostro, y al despertar, me saciaré de tu presencia.
