Psalms 109

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] God whom I praise, do not be silent!	1 Al maestro di coro. Di Davide. Salmo. Dio della mia lode, non rimaner muto;
2 Wicked and deceiving words are being said about me, false accusations are cast in my teeth.	2 poiché bocca di empietà e di menzogna hanno spalancato contro di me, con lingua di falsità hanno parlato contro di me;
3 Words of hate fly al around me, though I give no cause for hostility.	3 con parole di odio mi hanno circondato e mi hanno assalito senza ragione.
4 In return for my friendship they denounce me, and al I can do is pray!	4 Sebbene io li abbia amati, essi mi accusano senza pietà.
5 They repay my kindness with evil, and friendship with hatred.	5 Mi hanno ripagato male per bene, odio in cambio di amore.
6 'Set up a wicked man against him as accuser to stand on his right.	6 "Sia stabilito contro di lui il delitto; alla sua destra stia l'accusatore;
7 At his trial may he emerge as guilty, even his prayer construed as a crime!	7 risulti reo dal giudizio e la sua preghiera si muti in colpa.
8 'May his life be cut short, someone else take over his office,	8 Diventino brevi i suoi giorni e il suo posto lo prenda un altro.
9 his children be orphaned, his wife be widowed.	9 Diventino orfani i suoi figli e vedova la sua moglie.
10 'May his children wander perpetual y, beggars, driven from the ruins of their house,	10 Vaghino i suoi figli mendicando, siano scacciati dalle loro rovine.
11 a creditor seize al his goods, and strangers make off with his earnings.	11 Prelevi il creditore tutto ciò che gli appartiene e portino via degli estranei il frutto delle sue fatiche.
12 'May there be none left faithful enough to show him love, no one take pity on his orphans,	12 Non vi sia per lui chi abbia misericordia né per i suoi orfani chi abbia pietà.
13 the line of his descendants cut off, his name wiped out in one generation.	13 Sia votata allo sterminio la sua posterità, dopo appena una generazione si estingua il suo nome.
14 'May Yahweh never forget the crimes of his ancestors, and his mother's sins not be wiped out;	14 Davanti al Signore sia ricordata la colpa di suo padre e non sia cancellato il peccato di sua madre.
15 may Yahweh keep these constantly in mind, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.'	15 Permangano costantemente al cospetto del Signore, perché faccia scomparire il suo ricordo dalla terra,
16 He had no thought of being loyal, but hounded the poor and the needy and the broken-hearted totheir death.	16 per il fatto che non si ricordò di usare misericordia e perseguitò un uomo misero e povero, uno che era affranto nel cuore, per farlo morire.
17 He had a taste for cursing; let it recoil on him! No taste for blessing; let it never come his way!	17 Egli ha preferito la maledizione, ed essa è venuta su di lui; non ha voluto la benedizione e questa s'è allontanata da lui!
18 Cursing has been the uniform he wore; let it soak into him like water, like oil right into his bones.	18 Si è vestito della maledizione come di un manto, come acqua è penetrata nel suo interno, come olio nelle sue ossa.
19 Let it be as a robe which envelops him completely, a sash which he always wears.	19 Sia per lui come la veste che indossa, come la cintura che lo tiene sempre avvinto".
20 Let this be the salary Yahweh pays the accusers who blacken my name.	20 Questa è l'opera chiesta al Signore dai miei persecutori e da quanti parlano di rovina contro l'anima mia.
21 Yahweh, treat them as your name demands; as your faithful love is generous, deliver me.	21 Ma tu, Signore Dio, agisci con me per amore del tuo nome; liberami, secondo la misericordiosa tua bontà.
22 Poor and needy as I am, my wounds go right to the heart;	22 Sì, io sono misero e povero: il mio cuore è in angustia dentro di me.
23 I am passing away like a fading shadow, they have shaken me off like a locust.	23 Come ombra che si allunga io me ne vado; sono scosso via come una locusta.
24 My knees are weak from lack of food, my body lean for lack of fat.	24 Vacillano le mie ginocchia per il digiuno, la mia pelle è raggrinzita per mancanza di grasso.
25 I have become the butt of their taunts, they shake their heads at the sight of me.	25 Son diventato per loro un obbrobrio: al vedermi scuotono il capo.
26 Help me, Yahweh my God, save me as your faithful love demands.	26 Soccorrimi, Signore mio Dio, salvami secondo la tua misericordia;
27 Let them know that yours is the saving hand, that this, Yahweh, is your work.	27 così sapranno che qui c'è la tua mano, Signore, che tu hai fatto questo.
28 Let them curse, provided that you bless; let their attacks bring shame to them and joy to yourservant!	28 Maledicano essi, ma tu benedici; restino confusi i miei avversari, in modo che il tuo servo si possa rallegrare.
29 Let my accusers be clothed in disgrace, enveloped in a cloak of shame.	29 Si vestano d'ignominia i miei accusatori, siano avvolti di vergogna come di un manto.
30 With generous thanks to Yahweh on my lips, I shall praise him before all the people,	30 Ringrazierò molto il Signore con la mia bocca; in mezzo alla moltitudine lo loderò;
31 for he stands at the side of the poor, to save their lives from those who sit in judgement on them.	31 poiché egli si mette alla destra del povero per salvarlo da quelli che lo condannano.
