Psalms 109

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] God whom I praise, do not be silent!	1 Salmo di Davide dato al capo dei Musici. O DIO della mia lode, non tacere;
2 Wicked and deceiving words are being said about me, false accusations are cast in my teeth.	2 Perciocchè la bocca dell’empio e la bocca di frode si sono aperte contro a me; Hanno parlato meco con lingua bugiarda;
3 Words of hate fly al around me, though I give no cause for hostility.	3 E mi hanno assediato con parole d’odio; E mi hanno fatta guerra senza cagione.
4 In return for my friendship they denounce me, and al I can do is pray!	4 In vece dell’amore che ho loro portato, mi sono stati avversari; Ed io ho loro renduta preghiera.
5 They repay my kindness with evil, and friendship with hatred.	5 Essi mi hanno renduto male per bene, E odio per lo mio amore
6 'Set up a wicked man against him as accuser to stand on his right.	6 Costituisci il maligno sopra lui; E fa’ che Satana gli stia alla destra.
7 At his trial may he emerge as guilty, even his prayer construed as a crime!	7 Quando sarà giudicato, esca condannato; E la sua preghiera gli torni in peccato.
8 'May his life be cut short, someone else take over his office,	8 Sieno i suoi giorni pochi; Un altro prenda il suo ufficio.
9 his children be orphaned, his wife be widowed.	9 Sieno i suoi figliuoli orfani, E la sua moglie vedova.
10 'May his children wander perpetual y, beggars, driven from the ruins of their house,	10 E vadano i suoi figliuoli del continuo vagando; E mendichino, ed accattino, uscendo fuor de’ lor casolari.
11 a creditor seize al his goods, and strangers make off with his earnings.	11 L’usuraio tenda la rete a tutto ciò ch’egli ha; E rubino gli strani le sue fatiche.
12 'May there be none left faithful enough to show him love, no one take pity on his orphans,	12 Non siavi alcuno che stenda la sua benignità inverso lui; E non vi sia chi abbia pietà de’ suoi orfani.
13 the line of his descendants cut off, his name wiped out in one generation.	13 Sieno distrutti i suoi discendenti; Sia cancellato il lor nome nella seconda generazione.
14 'May Yahweh never forget the crimes of his ancestors, and his mother's sins not be wiped out;	14 Sia ricordata l’iniquità de’ suoi padri appo il Signore; E il peccato di sua madre non sia cancellato.
15 may Yahweh keep these constantly in mind, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.'	15 Sieno que’ peccati del continuo nel cospetto del Signore; E stermini egli d’in su la terra la memoria di essi.
16 He had no thought of being loyal, but hounded the poor and the needy and the broken-hearted totheir death.	16 Perciocchè egli non si è ricordato d’usar benignità, Ed ha perseguitato l’uomo povero, ed afflitto, E tribolato di cuore, per ucciderlo.
17 He had a taste for cursing; let it recoil on him! No taste for blessing; let it never come his way!	17 Poichè egli ha amata la maledizione, vengagli; E poichè non si è compiaciuto nella benedizione, allontanisi ella da lui.
18 Cursing has been the uniform he wore; let it soak into him like water, like oil right into his bones.	18 E sia vestito di maledizione, come del suo manto; Ed entri quella come acqua nelle sue interiora, E come olio nelle sue ossa.
19 Let it be as a robe which envelops him completely, a sash which he always wears.	19 Siagli quella a guisa di vestimento, del quale egli sia avvolto; Ed a guisa di cintura, della quale sempre sia cinto.
20 Let this be the salary Yahweh pays the accusers who blacken my name.	20 Tal sia, da parte del Signore, la ricompensa de’ miei avversari, E di quelli che parlano male contro all’anima mia
21 Yahweh, treat them as your name demands; as your faithful love is generous, deliver me.	21 Ma tu, o Signore Iddio, opera inverso me, per amor del tuo Nome; Liberami, perciocchè la tua benignità è buona.
22 Poor and needy as I am, my wounds go right to the heart;	22 Perciocchè io sono afflitto, e povero; E il mio cuore è piagato dentro di me.
23 I am passing away like a fading shadow, they have shaken me off like a locust.	23 Io me ne vo, come l’ombra quando dichina; Io sono agitato come una locusta.
24 My knees are weak from lack of food, my body lean for lack of fat.	24 Le mie ginocchia vacillano per li miei digiuni; E la mia carne è dimagrata, e non ha più grassezza alcuna.
25 I have become the butt of their taunts, they shake their heads at the sight of me.	25 Ed anche son loro in vituperio; Quando mi veggono, scuotono la testa.
26 Help me, Yahweh my God, save me as your faithful love demands.	26 Aiutami, Signore Iddio mio; Salvami secondo la tua benignità.
27 Let them know that yours is the saving hand, that this, Yahweh, is your work.	27 E sappiano che questo è la tua mano, E che tu, Signore, hai fatto questo.
28 Let them curse, provided that you bless; let their attacks bring shame to them and joy to yourservant!	28 Essi malediranno, e tu benedirai; Si sono innalzati, ma saran confusi, Ed il tuo servitore si rallegrerà.
29 Let my accusers be clothed in disgrace, enveloped in a cloak of shame.	29 Sieno i miei avversari vestiti di vituperio, Ed avvolti della lor vergogna, come di un mantello.
30 With generous thanks to Yahweh on my lips, I shall praise him before all the people,	30 Io celebrerò altamente il Signore colla mia bocca; E lo loderò in mezzo de’ grandi.
31 for he stands at the side of the poor, to save their lives from those who sit in judgement on them.	31 Perciocchè egli sta alla destra del povero, Per salvarlo da quelli che lo condannano a morte
