Psalms 109

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] God whom I praise, do not be silent!	1 Del maestro de coro. De David. Salmo. Dios de mi alabanza, no te quedes callado,
2 Wicked and deceiving words are being said about me, false accusations are cast in my teeth.	2 porque unos hombres malvados y mentirosos han abierto su boca contra mí. Me han alabado con mentira en los labios,
3 Words of hate fly al around me, though I give no cause for hostility.	3 me han envuelto con palabras de odio, me combaten sin motivo.
4 In return for my friendship they denounce me, and al I can do is pray!	4 Me acusan, a cambio de mi amor, aunque yo oraba por ellos.
5 They repay my kindness with evil, and friendship with hatred.	5 Me devuelven mal por bien y odio por amor, diciendo:
6 'Set up a wicked man against him as accuser to stand on his right.	6 «Que se ponga contra él a un impío, y tenga un acusador a su derecha;
7 At his trial may he emerge as guilty, even his prayer construed as a crime!	7 que salga condenado del juicio y su apelación quede frustrada.
8 'May his life be cut short, someone else take over his office,	8 Que sean pocos sus días y que otro ocupe su cargo;
9 his children be orphaned, his wife be widowed.	9 que sus hijos queden huérfanos, y su mujer, viuda.
10 'May his children wander perpetual y, beggars, driven from the ruins of their house,	10 Que sus hijos vayan errantes, pidiendo limosna, y sean echados de sus casas derruidas;
11 a creditor seize al his goods, and strangers make off with his earnings.	11 que el acreedor se apodere de sus bienes, y gente extraña le arrebate sus ganancias.
12 'May there be none left faithful enough to show him love, no one take pity on his orphans,	12 Que ni uno solo le tenga piedad, y nadie se compadezca de sus huérfanos;
13 the line of his descendants cut off, his name wiped out in one generation.	13 que su posteridad sea exterminada, y en una generación desaparezca su nombre.
14 'May Yahweh never forget the crimes of his ancestors, and his mother's sins not be wiped out;	14 Que el Señor recuerde la culpa de sus padres, y no borre el pecado de su madre:
15 may Yahweh keep these constantly in mind, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.'	15 que estén siempre delante del Señor, y él extirpe su recuerdo de la tierra.
16 He had no thought of being loyal, but hounded the poor and the needy and the broken-hearted totheir death.	16 Porque nunca pensó en practicar la misericordia, sino que persiguió hasta la muerte al pobre, al desvalido y al hombre atribulado.
17 He had a taste for cursing; let it recoil on him! No taste for blessing; let it never come his way!	17 Amó la maldición: que recaiga sobre él; no quiso la bendición: que se retire de él.
18 Cursing has been the uniform he wore; let it soak into him like water, like oil right into his bones.	18 Se revistió de la maldición como de un manto: ¡que ella penetre como agua en su interior y como aceite en sus huesos;
19 Let it be as a robe which envelops him completely, a sash which he always wears.	19 que sea como un vestido que lo cubra y como un cinturón que lo ciña para siempre!».
20 Let this be the salary Yahweh pays the accusers who blacken my name.	20 Que así retribuya el Señor a mis acusadores, a aquellos que me calumnian.
21 Yahweh, treat them as your name demands; as your faithful love is generous, deliver me.	21 Pero tú, Señor, trátame bien, por el honor de tu Nombre; líbrame, por la bondad de tu misericordia.
22 Poor and needy as I am, my wounds go right to the heart;	22 Porque yo soy pobre y miserable, y mi corazón está traspasado;
23 I am passing away like a fading shadow, they have shaken me off like a locust.	23 me desvanezco como sombra que declina, soy sacudido como la langosta.
24 My knees are weak from lack of food, my body lean for lack of fat.	24 De tanto ayunar se me doblan las rodillas, y mi cuerpo está débil y enflaquecido;
25 I have become the butt of their taunts, they shake their heads at the sight of me.	25 soy para ellos un ser despreciable, al verme, mueven la cabeza.
26 Help me, Yahweh my God, save me as your faithful love demands.	26 Ayúdame, Señor, Dios mío, sálvame por tu misericordia,
27 Let them know that yours is the saving hand, that this, Yahweh, is your work.	27 para que sepan que aquí está tu mano, y que tú, Señor, has hecho esto;
28 Let them curse, provided that you bless; let their attacks bring shame to them and joy to yourservant!	28 no importa que ellos maldigan, con tal que tú me bendigas. Queden confundidos mis adversarios, mientras tu servidor se llena de alegría:
29 Let my accusers be clothed in disgrace, enveloped in a cloak of shame.	29 que mis acusadores se cubran de oprobio, y la vergüenza los envuelva como un manto.
30 With generous thanks to Yahweh on my lips, I shall praise him before all the people,	30 Yo daré gracias al Señor en alta voz, lo alabaré en medio de la multitud,
31 for he stands at the side of the poor, to save their lives from those who sit in judgement on them.	31 porque él se puso de parte del pobre, para salvarlo de sus acusadores.
